Nevertheless, it is not an accidental collocation. In 1908 Sir Winston Spencer Churchill with his wife Clementine Hozier stopped by in our town during his honeymoon. The reason of this stay was a meeting with Duke of Lancaster, the later British monarch. The room where you are now did not always serve for catering in the past; nevertheless, it had an undoubted relation to the United Kingdom or let us say to the British Crown. One of two milliner shops that were found here at the beginning of the 20 th century, was owned by Mr. Pistl and his daughter, Miss Mizzi was probably the reason of regular spa stays of the later monarch of the British Empire in the years , king Edward VII. To what extent the monarch s health condition was influenced by curative spring or Miss Mizzi s charm, unfortunately did not preserve in the local records. Nevertheless, it is known that this elegant gourmet liked the Pilsner bier Prazdroj that could not be omitted even during such solemn occasion as was a meeting with a head of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the emperor Franz Josef I. in 1905 in the hotel Krakonoš in Marienbad.
