4 The Men Men Behind the Shell The Men Behind the Shell John Cochran (Founder and President): P Born just outside of Athens, GA, John is a 1993 graduate of UGA. While in col- lege John began homebrewing. After living in Seattle for a year after graduation, he fell in love with the variety and quality of beers available in the Pacific Northwest. John is still convinced that can happen in GA someday. Brian "Spike" Buckowski (Founder & Brewmaster): Spike is the creative force behind Terrapin beers. Born in New Britain, CT he moved to Atlanta in Spike began home brewing in 1993 and never looked back. Spike is a 1996 graduate of The American Brewers Guild in California. The program included an intensive brewing science and engineering curriculum. Judging from the accolades and medals he is winning for Terrapin, he must have paid some attention in class. 3

5 Brewery Stats Terrapin Beer Co. is an award winning brewery committed to excellence, quality and daring style. Their 45,000 square foot facility is located in Athens, GA a cultural hub of trend-setting southern culture. Terrapin currently has a portfolio of four year round beers, three seasonal beers, five Monster Beer tour brews and the Side Project series of one time brewing improvisations. Terrapin Co-Owners & Founders John Cochran, President, and Brian Spike Buckowski, Brew master, have developed d a reputation for high quality beers that push the boundaries of creative brewing. Brewmaster: Brian Buckowski Location: 265 Newton Bridge Road Athens, GA Square Footage: 45,000 Annual Volume in Barrels: 18,000 Brew House Capacity: 25 Barrels Regularly scheduled tours of the Terrapin Brewery are offered every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from 5:30 7:30 with live music and tastings. The brewery is located at 265 Newton Bridge Road in Athens, GA. The tours are an excellent opportunity to taste Terrapin's full line of award winning beers and see the brewing process first hand. 4

6 Understanding Date Codes 5 The beer expiration date is stamped on the outside of all case boxes. As beer ages the hop character rounds off and the malt character steps forward. The expiration date for the Hop Sack mixed 12 packs is in the Best Enjoyed By square on the top of the case. With all of our kegs dates stamped into the left block indicate a 15.5 Gallon Keg and dates stamped into the right block indicates a 5.16 Gallon Keg. Year round beers are stamped with a Best Before date that is generally six months from the package date. Monster Beer Tour, Side Project and Seasonal Kegs have a Packaged Date stamped on them. Kegged beer needs to be refrigerated at 34!

7 Understanding Date Codes At Terrapin we take great pride in our craft. Freshness is important to us and to our consumers. The following pages will help you to be certain the beer in your market tastes the best it can. The expiration date of our beers is clearly indicated on each bottle. In general our beers have a shelf life of six months with the exception of the Monster beers which can be aged. The Best If enjoyed by box will either be notched into the side of the label. The notches indicate the month and week that the beer will expire. The beer in this example will expire in the second week of the July. On some labels the expiration date will be printed in the BEST IF ENJOYED BY box like in this example... 07/27/08 The Monster Beer Tour and seasonal beers indicate the season / vintage in which they were brewed along the edge of the label. 10 Policies and Proceedures Policies & Procedures Storage The flavor and quality of our beer is very important to us. To ensure quality: -Kegs need to be refrigerated at 34 Fahrenheit -Cases need to be stored in a humidity controlled environment and should not be subjected to extreme temperature changes. Samples Terrapin will co-op all samples 50/50 provided the distributor has requested approval from a Terrapin Regional Sales Manager and received confirmation. Ordering Beer In order to better ensure you receive your entire order on-time, we are implementing a new ordering procedure. This regards not only beers that are available year round, but also the seasonal, Monster Beer Tour, and Side Project releases. Our ordering schedule is as follows: Order Due Date January 30th March 30th May 30th July 30th September 30th November 30th Order Ships March & April May & June July & August September & October November & December January & February Contact your designated Regional Sales Manager to place an order or fax an order sheet to the brewery at Shipping is always paid for by Terrapin. We Ship: Year Round Beers 4/6pk/12oz cases - 72 cases per pallet / 12 cases per layer = 2,500 lbs. Monster Beers 6/4pk/12oz cases - 72 cases per pallet / 12 cases per layer = 2,500 lbs. Side Projects 12/22oz cases - 64 cases per pallet / 16 cases per layer = 2,500 lbs. 8 1/2 barrels per pallet = 1,300 lbs. 24 1/6 barrels per pallet = 1,300 lbs. 18 1/6 barrels Pub Keg per pallet = Weight??? Pallets are 44 x 48 standard. Returns Keg deposits are refunded upon return Up to 30 days after the expiration date we will refund the full amount days after expiration we will refund 50%. 60 days after the expiration date beer cannot be returned for example if the beer expires 6/30 we must receive it by 7/30. Product must be physically returned by the 30 & 60 days and must be labeled properly. 9

11 Policies and Proceedures Policies & Procedures Festivals -Participation in and Festival or event must be approved by a Terrapin Owner, VIP of Sales and Marketing or your Regional Sales Manager. Requests for participation must be submitted 60 days prior to the event -In general we do not attend festivals unless either the room or the beer is paid for by the event. We also give preference to events where merchandise can be sold -We do not allow beer to be sent to festivals when a Representative of Terrapin will not be present. Sponsorship -All sponsorships must be approved by a Terrapin Owner, VIP of Sales and Marketing or your Regional Sales Manager. -We do not sponsor private events or schools -We do not sponsor any event geared towards a demographic less than 80% over 21. Use of Terrapin Logo -All use of the Terrapin Logo or any of Terrapin s label art must be approved by a Terrapin Owner, VIP of Sales and Marketing or your Regional Sales Manager. Donations -All donations of Terrapin product must be approved by a Terrapin Owner, VIP of Sales and Marketing or your Regional Sales Manager. -Requests for donations should be made 60 days prior to delivery. 10
