2 A HISTORY o GIN GIN PARLOUR Gin is a spirit which derives its predominant flavour from juniper berries (Juniperus communis). From its earliest origins in the Middle Ages, gin has evolved from a herbal medicine to an object of commerce in the spirits industry. Gin was developed on the basis of the older jenever, and became popular in Great Britain when William of Orange, leader of the Dutch Republic, occupied the English, Scottish and Irish thrones with his wife Mary Gin is one of the broadest categories of spirits, represented by products of various origins, styles, and flavour profiles that all revolve around juniper as a common ingredient. To help you decide which gin suits you best, we ve detailed each of our gins key flavour profile based on our flavour wheel below. Gin Mare Flavour: Herbaceous Garnish: Rosemary A Mediterranean styled gin produced on the Costa Dorada in Spain, featuring rosemary, thyme, olive and basil alongside other traditional botanicals 2. Tanqueray No.10 Flavour: Citrus Garnish: Pink grapefruit Tanqueray No. 10 is handcrafted in small batches and is the only gin to be made with fresh citrus fruits (grapefruits, orange and limes) along with camomile flowers and other hand selected botanicals 3. Tanqueray Flavour: Juniper Garnish: Lime Tanqueray is a smooth, premium London Dry Gin made from juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice and has a grapefruit peel edge 4. Bloom Flavour: Floral Garnish: Strawberry Distinctly floral London Dry Gin, with a unique slightly sweet taste created by a bespoke blend of 3 botanicals: honeysuckle, camomile and pomelo 5. Whitley Neill Flavour: Citrus Garnish: Orange Smooth with rich juniper and exotic spice finishing with a long fade of herbs and candied lemon peels 6. Sipsmith Flavour: Juniper Garnish: Juniper berries Gentle mouthfeel with confident notes of juniper. Followed by a long citrus burst that rounds off with a soft note of spices and a hint of sweetness 7. Hendrick s Flavour: Herbaceous Garnish: Cucumber A most unusual gin, made with odd yet marvellous infusions of cucumber and rose petals and distilled in Ayrshire, Scotland 8. Bathtub Gin Flavour: Juniper Garnish: Lime Fresh and bold juniper leads the way with fragrant citrus and cardamom. The supporting botanicals really shine with lingering cardamom and orange peel 9. Monkey 47 Flavour: Citrus Garnish: Lime The 47 botanicals bring out the distinct and pure scent of juniper with tangy and crisp citrus notes, a sweet, flowery aroma and subtle bitter fruit notes of cranberries 10. Pinkster Flavour: Juniper Garnish: Raspberry & mint Produced in small batches near Cambridge, Pinkster is a premium gin with a difference as among its botanicals are real raspberries. The Botanist Flavour: Citrus Garnish: Rosemary 22 hand-foraged local botanicals delicately augment nine berries, barks, seeds and peels during an achingly slow distillation to create a rare explosion of flavour 12. Adnams Copper House Flavour: Juniper Garnish: Orange Elegant and approachable. Classically charged with juniper and rich with floral and citrus notes, it s a warm and welcoming introduction to Adnams gin 17. Martin Miller s Flavour: Citrus Garnish: Strawberry & black pepper Handcrafted with a two part distillation; firstly a citrus distillation and then a spicier, earthier botanical distillation. Blended with pure Icelandic spring water to produce a super smooth finish 18. Silent Pool Flavour: Floral Garnish: Orange 24 botanicals are carefully chosen for their uniqueness, working together to produce a romantic, complex flavour. Fresh floral and citrus notes are matched by earthy and spicy cassia bark and cubeb, and the smooth finish is achieved with local honey 19. 6 CRAFT BEERS Big Hug Brewing presents The Bears - Spirit Pale Ale 4.2% ABV England Light and hoppy session pale ale made with 95% biscuity Maris Otter Pale Ale malted barley with a touch of Munich and Cara speciality malts for added complexity and colour. Chinook and Summit hops from the US are added to give a great US-style hop profile aromatic and flavourful with a quenching dryness on the back of the palate Brewdog Vagabond Pale Ale 4.5% ABV Scotland A fantastic pale ale, that just so happens to be gluten-free. Vagabond melds citrus and tropical hop flavours with a light caramel malt base, backed up with a raucously resinous bitterness. Brewed using 100% malted barley, American hops and Scottish water Crazy Mountain Living Pale Ale 5.7% ABV USA The hop forward character of this pale ale shines through in the unique, tropical fruit flavour of two American hop varieties.
