I have experienced many kinds of fi shing including ocean, lake, river, and pond ice fi shing. During my last trip in China, one of my friends mentioned Knock Fishing. I had never heard of Knock Fishing and was very curious to fi nd out what it was. One afternoon, four of us drove about one hour away from Shenzhen, to a southern city next to Hong Kong in the Bay area. We chartered a boat for a 2 hour fi shing trip ($25 USD) and went on a new adventure. While we traveled to the fi shing area, we enjoyed the beautiful bay scenery and sunset. It took about 30 minutes to get to the fi shing spot. Here s how it happened: The fi sh lady (the lady demonstrating this new technique) starts by releasing the fi shing net into the water while the boat slowly moves in a circle. We release all of the net to complete a circle. Then, the fi sh lady gets two wooden poles and starts to slam them on the wood compartment of the boat!!! What the heck? I asked why is she doing this? The fi sh lady answered that when the fi sh hear loud noise, it scares them and they will try to swim away, catching them in the net. I felt interested in doing this so I knocked with all my strength with hopes to catch some big fi sh. After while the fi sh lady said, Now we can pull in the net. We pulled the net gradually on board, but all we caught was little fi sh - no big fi sh! I am a little disappointed. She explained that we were in an area with small fi sh meant for soup. If you want to catch bigger fi sh, we need to go further out into deeper waters. Unfortunately we did not have enough time. Maybe the next time we can go for the big fi sh. I ll be sure to bring along a big stick! 5 AAA Im ports, Inc July 2005 Page 5 New Sales Representative Hi my name is Crystal McILvenna. I am a new inside sales representative here at AAA Imports. I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. I have a four year old son who is my heart and soul I call him JoJo. I like to do things with my son like going to the park or going to Chuck E. Cheese. I also enjoy going to night clubs with my close friends to dance. I am looking forward to joining the team here at AAA Imports. Everyone has been very helpful and nice. Crystal SR-71 BLACKBIRD The SR-71 Blackbird was one of the strategic air command's most top secret ventures into high speed, high altitude reconnaissance. It was fi rst fl own in August 17, 1964 and entered service in July, Its twin afterburning Pratt & Whitney turbo jets each produce 34,000 pounds of thrust and can take the Blackbird to speeds exceeding Mach 3.3 (2193 mph) at an altitude of over 80,000 feet. Since 1965 the Blackbird has fl own over 3,000 sorties with an absolute combat record of zero losses. During the Vietnam War Blackbirds fl ew countless mission over enemy soil without even being detected. Developed by a company called Skunk Works this was the United States' fi rst and very successful attempt at stealth. Along with its primitive stealth technology, its high speed, high altitude confi guration made it uncatchable even to the fastest missile. Now with the introduction of satellites and unmanned aircraft for intelligence gathering operations, the USAF has retired the entire fl eet of SR -71s. NASA now fl ies the last 3 remaining SR-71s for high altitude research. Joel, Military Analyst New Sales Representative Hello, my name is Falon Quast. 6 AAA Im ports, Inc July 2005 Page 6 Watermelon Fruit Bowl Celebrate your 4th of July with a cool treat! INGREDIANTS: 1 qt. (4 cups) boiling water 2 pkg. (8-serving size each) or 4 pkg. (4-serving size each) JELL-O Brand Sugar Free Low Calorie Gelatin, any fl avor 1 qt. (4 cups) cold water 4 cups assorted summer fruits, such as watermelon balls, honeydew balls, banana slices, strawberry slices Watermelon Bowl (see Tip) DIRECTIONS: STIR boiling water into dry gelatin in large bowl 3 minutes or until gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in cold water. REFRIGERATE 1-1/2 hours or until thickened (spoon drawn through leaves defi nite impression). ADD fruit; stir until well blended. Spoon into Watermelon Bowl. Refrigerate 3 hours or until fi rm. TammyS's Recipes TIP: When making a watermelon bowl, select a large round watermelon (12 to 14 lb.). Cut off a thin slice from bottom of melon. Cut off top 1/3 of melon. Use sharp knife to scallop edge of larger piece of melon, if desired. Scoop out fruit from both pieces with melon baller. Invert watermelon shell on paper towels; let stand to drain excess juices before fi lling with fruited gelatin. Mix desired amount of watermelon with other fruits before adding to gelatin as directed. Reserve remaining watermelon for snacking or another use. 1. Time 2. The Moon Answer to Riddles (from page 4) Keep The Creativity Going This past week we exhibited at a show called the Super Floral Show in Houston, Texas. The fl owers were breathtaking. Everywhere I looked vibrant colors in full spectrum all appealing to the senses, from cool blue to warm oranges and earth tones. Texture was carefully interwoven from very smooth texture of the velvet petals to the rustic feel of bamboo and wicker all into different designs and products. I saw all the elements of design in full bloom. COLOR TEXTURE SMOOTH INTRICATE SHAPE SIZE ROUGH PLAIN BALANCE LINE SHINY PATTERNED These are just some to name a few. I believe that knowing how to combine these elements in the right proportion is the key to any successful design. Today like never before people are desiring to surround themselves with beauty in both their home and work environment. What a great opportunity to do that with fl orals and plants - they immediately bring life into a room and surrounding environments.
