1 festive art afternoon tea As a Pastry Chef, I m always curious and try to find inspiration in things that surround me. London is a vibrant city with an incredibly energetic art scene. Rosewood London s quirky interiors reflect the British capital s history, culture and sensibilities, featuring the works of some of the world s most renowned artists, with contemporary pieces complemented by more traditional art throughout the hotel. Here are my latest creations inspired by five of the most iconic modern artists currently represented in London and the tradional colours of this festive season.
2 inspired by jeff koons Known for working with popular culture subjects and his reproductions of banal objects, Jeff Koons is one of the most commercially successful artists in the world. His amazing blue balls, also known as the Gazing Ball series features reflective spheres on small shelves in front of classic works from art history. Chestnut cream, cassis jelly, almond sponge, topped with white chocolate and a glazed sphere inspired by wassily kandinsky The Russian artist and theorist is credited with painting one of the first purely abstract works of art. A teacher at the Bauhaus School, Kandinsky frequently used geometric shapes in his work. Hearing music as he painted, he believed that colours and shapes evoked powerful emotions. Whipped jivara chocolate cream, mandarin jelly, praline feuilletine and a speculoos tart shell, topped with jivara chocolate ganache and a chocolate decoration
3 inspired by banksy Celebrated British street artist Banksy is recognised for his satire contemporary graffiti artwork, which is characterised by his exceptional stencil technique. We have taken our inspiration from his renowned Girl With a Balloon, representing hope, satisfaction and motivation to push through bleaker days. Chocolate cube filled with vanilla cream choux, salted caramel, chocolate cremeux inspired by jackson pollock A major figure in the abstract expressionist movement, Jackson Pollock was an American artist famous for his unique style of dripping or hurling paint onto a bare canvas. Pollock s drip paintings represent one of the most original bodies of work of the century. Cherry brownie, vanilla cream, macaron, cherry insert, and flick art chocolate inspired by hubert le gall Hubert Le Gall is a self-taught artist known for creating luminous works of colour and fantasy. Inspired by Ruinart s vineyards, he created The Glass Calendar as a bright and lively tribute to Chardonnay. Le Gall s talents are many and range from sculpture to scenography. The shimmering gold liquor is a faraway grand cru, unique and magnificent. Please allow a brewing time of 3 minutes thé interdit Delighiting the senses, it materializes as an undiscovered composition of grand teas. The liquor, a brilliant golden yellow, captivates with its airy texture and round body while delighting the palate with light zesty notes of mandarin and white flowers topeed by lingering hints of tasty liquorice. oolong Perfect for late afternoon and evening, this oolong tea has a very aromatic and delicate flavour. Please allow a brewing time of 7 minutes green kirishima cha Harvested from a small discrete garden located on the slopes of the famous Mount Kirishima in Japan, this green tea has an intensly fruity heart note recalling white mango and candied pear. Please allow a brewing time of 3,30 minutes gozhang maojian Grown in the high mountains of Hunan Province, this is one of the most famous teas in China, notable for its long downy leaves, pure aroma and a delicate flavour with a delicious after taste. A subtle day time tea. Please allow a brewing time of 3 minutes matcha Sup This tea, recognized by its bright green colour produced using the finest Tencha leaves, is used in the famous Cha No Yu ceremony. Sweet and deep in flavour.

This deep red liquor fills the palate with a pleasantly earthy yet slightly sugary taste. white brume de jasmin To create this tea, Mariage Frères selects jasmine flowers with barely-opened buds, blended with a grand Pai Mu Tan Imperial from Fujian. The nose, heady with the fragrance of jasmine, is carried along by woody notes. Its handsome long leaves give off a slightly flowery, verdant fragrance. Its young fresh taste is marked by hints of apricot, anisette, and precious vanilla.
