Join us for a viewing of the 140th annual Kentucky Derby. Irene will be serving made-to-order Mint Juleps, Derby Cocktails and a "Deep" Southside cocktail ($5.00 each). We ll also offer a $15 three-course prix fixe menu which will include a Kentucky Derby Hot Brown, (an open-faced turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese and tomato sandwich made famous in Louisville in the 1920s), along w/ Key Lime pie & the drink of your choice. There will also be a "Best Hat" competition for the ladies and a "Dandiest Fellow" for best-dressed gentleman. And a Derby Winner Contest. So who s Your Pick?? 2 MOTHERS DAY BUFFET- May 11 Angelico s Lake House will serve a scrumptious Mother s Day Buffet with over 40 items on the menu. You can start the morning off at our omelet station and then try a selection of breakfast items including scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, waffles, French toast with strawberries and whipped cream. Our carving station will be offering a Steamship Round of Beef and Honey Baked Ham. Enjoy lamb with a rosemary demi glaze, Louisiana seafood medley, seafood stuffed sole with a lobster sauce, grilled chicken and additional chef surprises. There will be pasta, fresh fruit and salad stations plus a lavish dessert display. A complete menu can be found on line at seating at 10:00, 12:00, 2:00, and 4:00pm. Grizzy Scholarship Poker Run for Bikes & Hot Rods in remembrance of our good friend Dennis Griswold. Dennis Griswold operated the Happiest Paddler Marina on Lake Pocotopaug, and was one of the founders of The Friends of Lake Pocotopaug, a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the water quality of the lake. Unfortunately, we all lost a great friend when Dennis passed away on August 27, In remembrance of Dennis, a scholarship has been established awarded annually to a deserving East Hampton student who is pursuing a higher education with a concentration in environmental science. This is a great 80 mile run. Last year we had great weather and over 250 riders. This year s ride starts at Loco Perro, East Hampton and then makes stops at the Recovery Room New London, Lyme Tavern, Niantic, Gelston House, East Haddam and ends at Angelico s Lake House in East Hampton.
