3 Market Your Restaurant Great tips to increase business without breaking the bank Dale Willink, Vice President of Sales 1. Business Cards A great way to get your name out there. You can incorporate a coupon too if you wish. Include a fax number if you accept take out orders via fax. 2. Gift Certificates Great for gift giving! Include a gift with a gift promo. Certificates are also great for donations to local groups, schools, and fundraisers. Make up smaller denomination certificates, ($5 or less) to distribute as you like; an added incentive to visit your establishment. 3. Coupons...Never underestimate their power! There are a variety of ways to incorporate coupons. a) giveaways - a free 2 liter with pizza purchase, $2 off, Buy 1 Get 1, etc. b) cross promotion with another business - pizza with local dvd rental, percent off with mini golf purchase, the possibilities are endless! 4. Promote Take Out Leave a flyer with customers when they check out, mail take out menus to local businesses or visit them and talk about the service that you offer. 5. Attract Senior Citizens Seniors love to feel like they are getting a better price. Offer a senior menu with smaller portions at a slightly lower price, or implement an Early Bird Menu between 3 and 5 pm. Accept AARP discount cards or make up your own Senior Card. The latter is a nice gesture and they will see your business information every time they look in their wallets or purses. Another option might be to offer free beverages for senior guests. 6. Kids Don t overlook family dining. Have a coloring contest and have coloring pages and crayons available. Designate a special corner in your dining room or a special room for kids and offer games. Join with a local school to offer a dessert or meal for perfect attendance. Have a Kid s night, maybe one night that children eat free with an adult meal purchase. 7. Groups Encourage local groups to have meetings at your restaurant, or sponsor a local little league or soccer team. Help with fundraising events. 8. Next Great Idea... Yours!
