This region in North Italy offers a wide range of interesting resorts. A big tourist draw are its thermal springs. We take a stroll through the old town and see the medieval monuments and buildings. Later we travel through the Barolo area. We visit a wine cellar and sample excellent wines like Barolo, Barbaresco and Dolcetto d Alba. Canelli, the capital of Spumante The area of Canelli - a natural scenery of vine yards and hills - is the most important centre for the production of the worldwide renown Asti Spumante. The town is made up of the lower Borgo and the upper Villanuova with the amazing underground cathedrals, the baroque church San Rocco and the medieval church San Tommaso. In Canelli are two main pearl wine producers. In search of the famous truffle of Alba The white truffle of Alba is the most famous kind of truffle. Its colour is white grey with red nuances. Like the famous "trifulau", we walk through oak woods and wild poplars in search of truffles. Discover Turin in a different way Renown as the capital of automobile and industry, Turin is also rich in monument and cultural treasures. You disocver the historic centre on a bicycle tour. Later visit to the Roman town, the Citadel, Torino Liberty, the Dome, the Mole Antonelliana, through the most famous streets and squares. 4

5 Full day excursion: Turin and San Michele abbey Visit to the capital of Piedmont, Turin. In the afternoon you visit the Abbey of San Michele with a commanding position atop Mount Pirchiriano. You go up the stairs of the dead people and see the gate of the stars, the church and the crypt. Saluzzo - between history and legend Saluzzo is rich in history and artistic treasures. On a sightseeing tour in the medieval old town you see ancient noble palaces with terracotta decorations. The town is dominated by the imposing castle of the Duchy of Saluzzo. In the afternoon you can join a visit to the Cistercians Abbey Santa Maria di Staffarda. Turin Cafés A stroll through the historical cafés of the city in Piazza San Carlo, Piazza Carignano, Via Po and Piazza Castello up to the ancient Café "Bicerin" where you sample the famous Bicerin". Genoa - Portofino Genoa, former marine republic and the most important town of Liguria, fascinates visitors with its beautiful architecture. We head for Rapallo, a popular holiday resort on Eastern Riviera. From the yacht port we take a ferry to the Portofino, a wonderful natural bay. From here we reach the tiny village of San Fruttuoso. 6 Someone you must meet: Mr. Strumia in Sommariva Bosco The place with its sign and window looks very simple however it offers the best: delicious ice, Peschemoscato, Roero strawberries, agnolotti al plin con cardi, paste di meliga, baked apples.
