2 The Winery The Ceretto name is synonymous with estategrown, carefully produced wines that express true varietal character with purity and elegance. Famed Italian gastronome and intellectual Luigi Veronelli wrote, "The land, the land, the land, the land, always, the land." The Ceretto family has sustained this same philosophy since the sixties when Bruno and Marcello joined their father Riccardo in the family business in Alba. The two brothers' objective was to select vineyards in the most historically important areas for the production of great wines. This idea, spawned by a visit to Burgundy, would prove the wisdom of the Ceretto family, placing their bottles among the greats of enology and elevating Barolo and Barbaresco among the most appreciated and prestigious wines in the world. The idea was revolutionary at the time for a territory in which the concept of cru was completely unknown, but most of all, it was a genial intuition. The most difficult challenge the brothers faced was the encounter with their father who, as was typical at the time, purchased grapes for the wines he vinified. You are undertaking a difficult course, the land has never made anybody rich, he warned, but Bruno and Marcello did not doubt the potential of the land and stubbornly replied, We believe in the land 100%. Of course, the cellar counts as well, but great wines are made from great grapes. The Barolo Brothers In the 1960s, Riccardo's sons Bruno and Marcello began working with him. Each bringing their unique perspective and skill set to the winery. Bruno with his charisma and creativity naturally forged the strategic, commercial, financial and marketing structure on which Ceretto's entrepreneurial success is built. Marcello s reflective and introspective temperament is closely aligned with the traditions of the land, and is considered the "technical soul" of Ceretto. He balances his brother s dynamic personality and oversees the unparalleled excellence of the Ceretto wines. The Ceretto family was the first in Piedmont to invest attention to the image of their wine, dedicating careful attention to packaging design and working with creative designers to redesign wine labels and bottles. Through the years, the family's efforts has turned to visual arts outside of packaging, initiating collaborations with famed artists and architects on numerous projects intended to enhance the various family estates.

3 The history of the Ceretto Brand encompasses three generations whose mission for more than eighty years has been excellence in wine and to serve as ambassadors of Piedmont and Italy throughout the world. The family owns four wine estates in the Langhe, each devoted to the production of specific wines and each named for its geographic location: Bricco Rocche in the village of Castiglione Falletto, where single-vineyard Barolo wines are produced Bricco Asili in the village of Barbaresco, home to the single-vineyard Barbaresco wines Monsordo Bernardina in Alba, dedicated to the production of wines from the Langhe and Roero areas I Vignaioli Santo Stefano, in the village of Santo Stefano Belbo dedicated entirely to the production of Moscato wines Langhe Arneis Blange DOC Arneis is a native varietal producing a very fruity wine with hints of pear and apple. Its fragrance and flavor are also enhanced by the small amount of CO2 maintained from the fermentation, which also helps to make up for the varietal s typically low acidity. 4 Excellence in the Langhe Philosophy The family DNA is engraved with the constant pursuit of excellence. Our land has undoubtedly given us a hand in this endeavor in the Langhe, daily life is made up of these rare and unique pleasures of the palate. We are aware of this fortune and thus strive to send forth this message throughout the world through our products, sharing and educating in the culture of good living, eating and drinking. The Reds For a vintner, the soil is their greatest companion, to be taken care of, attended to, protected and respected. Ecological and sustainable practices were always implemented, so taking it to the next level by introducing solar panels that power the machinery and collaborating with biodiversity specialists regarding vine cultivation and cellar practices was a natural progression. The use of chemicals and machinery in the vineyards are kept to a minimum. Dolcetto D Alba Rossana DOC Dolcetto means little sweet one. Although the grapes are sweet, you will find the wine is not. The Rossana vineyard, on the outskirts of Alba has always been considered the top Dolcetto d Alba cru. Winery: Monsordo Bernardina Location: Alba Varietal Composition:100% Dolcetto Soil Composition: Clay, silt, sand Average Vine Age: 23 years old Aging: Six months in stainless steel tanks Acidity: 4.9 Alcohol: 13.5% Aroma: Flower and fruity scents Palate: Dry with a slight almond hint Pairing: Bolognese sauces, thin-crusted prosciutto and arugula topped pizza Langhe Rosso Monsordo DOC After several years of producing and bottling the varietals separately, in 1997 the original project of the Monsordo Bernardina estate finally came to fruition: to create a great wine from the world s most important red grape-varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot). Winery: Monsordo Bernardina Location: Alba Varietal Composition: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah Soil Composition: Clay, silt, sand Average Vine Age: 26 years old Aging: months in wood, each aged separately Acidity: 4.8 Alcohol: 14.5% Aroma: Spice and vanilla notes Palate: Opulent structure is enhanced by soft, sweet tannins Pairing: Gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce, beef wellington or pepper crusted filet mignon

5 Piedmont Having been controlled by the Dukes of Savoy, Austria, Germany, the Holy Roman Empire, and France, it would be an understatement to say that Piedmont has had many different rulers. Each culture left an indelible mark on the region s culture as well as its winemaking practices. This occurred to such an extent that, thanks to its time under the control of Napoleonic France, vineyards have multiple owners, each of whom own only 2.5 acres on average. The Piedmontese people take their food and wine seriously. An adequate description would be that theirs is a culture based upon the art of haut-cuisine. Cafés and coffee shops serve as morning meeting-places, pre-lunch or pre-dinner aperitifs are a cultural requisite (after all, Vermouth originated in the Piedmont), and nearly all activity in the region stops for daily meals. Piedmontese cuisine incorporates truffles, nuts, and meats to make some of Italy s most hearty stews and priciest pasta dishes. Agnoletti, pasta wrapped around a roast beef and vegetable center, in a hearty beef broth-based sauce can smooth the tannins of a Barolo or Barbaresco and help the wines fruit flavors bloom. Taglierini, baby taglietelle, in a bagna cauda sauce (garlic, anchovies, capers and butter) is one of the region s traditional pairings for the crisp white Gavi. Piedmont is also worldrenowned for its chocolate and hazelnut delicacies (like Nutella and gianduiotto). Barolo, Barbaresco, Ghemme, and Gattinara, with their extremely tannic, aromatic, and ageworthy reds, are generally considered the quintessential Piedmontese wines. Barolo and Barbaresco are two of the most westerly winemaking regions in Piedmont and a recent push to establish crus has taken root. Ghemme and Gattinara, the most northerly of all Piedmontese winemaking regions, make a lighter and less-ageworthy expression of Nebbiolo. All four versions of Nebbiolo are tannic with a moderately acidic backbone that is underscored by humus and bacon fat. Ceretto The Barbarescos Barbaresco Asij DOCG Barbaresco Asij, has a vital role in preserving and guaranteeing the excellence of the single-vineyard, Bricco Rocche Barolo and Bricco Asili Barbaresco wines. Excellent after four to 10 years. Exceptional up to years in outstanding vintages. Winery: Ceretto Monsordo Bernardina Location: Treiso Soil Composition: Clay 35%, Silt 42%, Sand 23% Average Vine Age: years Aging: 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by additional 12 months wooden casks Acidity (g/l): not on tech sheet nor website Alcohol: 14.5% Aroma: Hints of withered flowers Palate: Well-balanced and acidic quality Pairing: Roasted lamb garnished with mint jelly or apple glazed grilled pork Barbaresco Bernardot DOCG Barbaresco Bricco Asili DOCG The Bricco Asili vineyard was planted in 1970 on a piece of land that had remained uncultivated for over thirty years, a respite for the soil that significantly influenced the longevity of the new terrain. Winery: Bricco Asili Location: Barbaresco Average Vine Age: 43 years old Aging: 24 months in French oak Acidity (g/l): 5.3 Alcohol: 14.5% Aroma: Ethereal bouquet with hints of dog rose, violet and licorice Palate: Dry mouth-feel that excites the taste buds Pairing: Slow roasted beef in a traditional demi-glace or a truffle infused Bolognese sauce Barbaresco Bernardot is one of two single vineyard Barbarescos produced exclusively at the Bricco Asili winery. This is a wine that fully expresses Nebbiolo s character, with a structure destined to guarantee a lengthy cellar life in constant development. Winery: Bricco Asili Acidity (g/l): 5.1 Location: Treiso Alcohol: 14.5% Aroma: Flowers and fruit forward Palate: Opulent, full-bodied, soft tannins, evolved and silky Average Vine Age: years Pairing: Mushroom infused dishes, veal Marsala, risotto Aging: 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by additional 12 months wooden casks

6 The Barolos Barolo Zonchera DOCG This is a classic Barolo. It displays extraordinary drinkability after just a few months in the bottle and, in good vintages, can be cellared for up to 20 years. Winery: Ceretto Monsordo Bernardina Location: Barolo Soil Composition: Clay, sand and silt Average Vine Age: 42 years old Aging: 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by additional 12 months wooden casks Acidity (g/l): 5.7 Alcohol: 14.5% Aroma: Ripe strawberries, roses, violets, tar, and truffles Palate: Harmonious, velvety, limited tannin content, with fine balance Pairing: Beef ravioli in a butter sauce, buffalo steak stroganoff or fine, aged cheeses Barolo Bricco Rocche Brunate DOCG This exceptional wine can be enjoyed only a few months after bottling, but will continue to improve and develop in elegance for years. Winery: Bricco Rocche Location: La Morra Average Vine Age: 39 years old Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by 12 months in wooden casks Acidity: (g/l): 6 Alchohol: 15% Aroma: Scents of delicate roses and violets Palate: Silky smooth Pairing: Spinach stuffed Portobello mushrooms or braised short ribs Bricco Rocche Prapo DOCG This Barolo reflects the most typical style of the wine s virtuosity and aristocracy. With its excellent acidity and tannisn, this Barolo can expect a very lenghly cellar life, years. Winery: Castiglione Falletto Location: Serralunga d Alba Average Vine Age: 37 years old Aging: 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by 12 months in wooden casks Acidity (grams/liter): 6.4 Alcohol: 15% Aroma: Withered roses, slight fragrance of underbrush Palate: Well-balanced and rounded Pairing: Enjoy as a mediation wine or with cheeses Barolo Bricco Rocche DOCG The grapes are harvested in baskets and undergo a manual selection on a special sorting table. Its grandeur is revealed just a few months after bottling. Winery: Bricco Rocche Location: Castiglione Falletto Average Vine Age: 35 years old Aging: 12 months in oak barrels Acidity (grams/liter): 6.3 Alcohol: 15% Aroma: Floral aromas in its youth, give way to ethereal spices, chocolate and truffle Palate: Delicate and harmonious in some respects, while being powerful and robust in others Pairing: Osso buco, bucatini topped with shaved truffle in a cream sauce

7 The Labels Bruno and Marcello visualized labels bearing the name and image of the vineyard: so whoever drinks that wine can see the vineyard from which it has originated. The vineyard is history, the names of the hills remain, unchanged over time, enhancing the quality and credibility of the wines produced here. You can search for, visit and physically touch a vineyard always. Moscato d Asti DOCG A sweet white wine; par excellence in dessert wine. The sweet flavor is perfectly balanced with its low alcohol content and acidity, giving the wine an inviting freshness. Winery: Vignaioli di Santo Stefano Location: Santo Stefano Belbo Varietal Composition: 100% Moscato Soil Composition: Marl, sand, clay and silt Average Vine Age: 37 years old Acidity (g/l): 6.4 Alcohol: 5.5 Aroma: Intensely fruity Palate: Sweet and perfectly balanced, lively and fresh Pairing: Enjoy with fresh fruit, salted caramel macaroons, or by itself

8 CERETTO In the PRESS Langhe Arneis Blange DOC 87 points Wine Enthusiast March 2012 (Vintage 2009) Blangé is something of an icon white wine that offers clean freshness and simplicity from a producer who brings us some of the most complex and sophisticated red wines on the planet. Here, however, the emphasis is on fun, good cheer and easy drinking. Dolcetto D Alba Rossana DOC 89 points Wine Spectator November 2012 (Vintage 2010) Juicy cherry, berry and spice flavors stand out in this well-defined and complex red. Balanced on the firm side, but featuring a long, persistent finish. Langhe Rosso Monsordo DOC 88 points Wine Advocate April 2012 (Vintage 2009) The 2009 Langhe Rosso Monsordo (Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot /Syrah) is gorgeous in this vintage. Plump berries, flowers, mint and spices are some of the many notes that emerge from this fleshy, supple red. I can t remember a recent vintage of Monsordo that was this delicious. Barbaresco Asij DOCG 90 points Wine Advocate June 2013 (Vintage 2010) The 2010 Barbaresco Asij is a highlight thanks to the chiseled mineral tones that frame the wine s inner fruit. The wine shows great structure and lingering tones of dried cherry, leather, cola and tobacco that build in momentum. 90 points Wine Advocate October 2012 (Vintage 2009) The 2009 Barbaresco Asij is a beautiful, fragrant wine with a little more depth and polish than is typically the case. Layers of fruit flow through to an effortless, gracious finish laced with a hint of French oak. This supple, juicy Barbaresco is best suited for drinking over the next few years. Barbaresco Bricco Asili DOCG 95+points Wine Advocate October 2012 (Vintage 2009) The 2009 Barbaresco Bricco Asili is a pure joy to taste. Weightless and gracious, the 2009 wafts from the glass with the essence of freshly cut flowers, spices, red berries and crushed rose petals. The finesse of tannins elevates the Asili to a rarified air among the very best wines of the year. Seemingly endless layers of pure, textured floral fruit remain in the empty glass. This is a flat-out gorgeous wine in every way. I imagine the 2009 will enjoy a long and broad drinking window. Frankly, it is virtually impossible to resist today. Barbaresco Bernardot DOCG 94 points Wine Advocate October 2012 (Vintage 2009) 92+ points Wine Advocate June 2013 (Vintage 2010)...delivers pretty hues of crushed granite and spice with smoky end-notes of tobacco and cedar that add a mysterious, seductive flair. This is a solid, well-made Barbaresco that captures the overall balance and intensity of the 2010 vintage. Barolo Zonchera DOCG 91 points Wine Advocate June 2013 (Vintage 2009)...this is a soft and velvety wine that appears even plumper in this warm vintage. Bright cherry is followed by mocha, cedar, espresso and tobacco that are delicious for near-term drinking. Barolo Bricco Rocche Brunate DOCG 92 points Wine Advocate June 2013 (Vintage 2009)...The 2009 Barolo Brunate opens with savory aromas of barbecue smoke, cured meat and crushed granite points Wine Spectator February 2013 (Vintage 2008) Aromas of cinnamon, cherry, licorice and tar signal this rich, juicy Barolo. Hints of chocolate and spice persist as the rugged tannins kick in on the finish. Slightly hot in the balance, but very fine overall. Barolo Bricco Rocche DOCG 91 points Wine Spectator February 2013 (Vintage 2008) Rich, with oak spice and chocolate accents shading the cherry, plum and tobacco flavors. Tightly wound, displaying full tannins on the finish. Well-balanced, this needs time to absorb the tannins. 96 points Wine Advocate April 2012 (Vintage 2008) The 2008 Barolo Bricco Rocche is one of the very finest wines I have tasted from Ceretto in a long time. Layers of fruit flow effortlessly from this classy, elegant Barolo. All of the elements are in place in this superb, polished effort. Sweet dark cherries, roses, spices and licorice are woven into the textured, generous finish. I can only hope the 2008 Bricco Rocche is a sign of what we can expect from Ceretto in the coming years. Bricco Rocche Prapo DOCG 93 points Wine Spectator February 2013 (Vintage 2008) This red exudes cherry, licorice, violet and tar aromas and flavors married to a firm, vibrant structure. Shuts down a little at midpalate, but the sweet fruit comes back with a vengeance on the long finish. 94+ points Wine Advocate 2012 (Vintage 2008) The 2008 Barolo Prapo flows with sumptuous layers of dark fruit, menthol, licorice and tar. It is a rich, generous Barolo, with more than enough fruit to stand up to the French oak. There is plenty of Serralunga character in the glass. This, too, is another fairly generous Barolo for the year, but there is more than enough richness to balance the tannins. This is a fabulous showing from Ceretto. Moscato d Asti DOCG 88 points Wine Advocate August 2010 (Vintage 2009) The 2009 Moscato d Asti is soft and subdued in its fragrant green apples, crisp pears and spices. This is one of the more understated Moscatos I tasted this year. The refined mousse and lovely overall balance make for a highly pleasing glass of wine. 87 points Wine Enthusiast December 2010 (Vintage 2009) Moscato d Asti is such a wonderfully delicious wine and this expression from the folks at Ceretto offers sweet aromas of honey, peach blossom, white flower and acacia. The soft foaming feels lush and creamy in the mouth and those sweet honey flavors leave a lasting impression. 91 points Wine Spectator February 2013 (Vintage 2008) An elegant and intense version, featuring licorice, tobacco, spice and earth flavors that fuse with the burly tannins. Offers a compact feel and a tightly wound finish, with a sweet and spicy aftertaste.
