Sorrentino s Lacryma Christi and other great Vesuvian wines are like a story written by the hand of a fertile and violent Nature that has gone on for decades thanks to an enthusiastic and tenacious family who knew how to support a territory so rich in precious fruits. The present company s owners inherited from their ancestors (whose experience ripened during the whole XIX Century) the love for Vesuvian wines and for their production. 3

The desire to honour this natural and historical heritage saw the decision to plant mostly Sangiovese grapes on the estate which were native to the Predappio hills, its chosen territory for centuries, flanked to a lesser extent by Merlot. The production philosophy is expressed through the constant quest for excellence.this vision involves an ongoing dialogue between man and nature. Nature dictates the rhythms of our work and the land dictates the timing of work in the vineyard, the characteristics of the grapes which control the vinification and the young wine articulates the long silences as it rests in the cellar. Man keeps at a discreet distance during this process, helping nature express its very own soul. 4

For over 35 years Argo Atal Castellarin has been devoting himself to the cultivation of the family vineyards, managing the promotion and distribution of regional Friulan wines throughout the world. Over the years he has been able to create a selection of wines with an excellent price/quality ratio that brings out his great passion and his deep knowledge of viticulture in Italy. Castellargo production zones extend over a total area of about 200 hectares (500 acres), from the Friuli hills to the plain of the river Tagliamento. 5

Those were years when agriculture was a means of living for sustaining the family. A small trade of wine and olive oil olive was conducted; this was the beginning of the Cirullis' Wineries business. Since then the family has dedicated their life to the art of making wine, with great attention to the territory, passion and care for the environment. In the late 1960 Valentino started his university studies at the Institute of Chimica Agraria in Rome, later on he specialised at the Institute Sperimentale di Enologia in Asti (Piedmont). After years as a researcher, he decided to go back to his roots and in the late 1980s he purchased the land around Orvieto. 7

We have always been committed to combining the maximum use of advanced technology with the minimum interference in the natural process of vinification, aiming to achieve a product of the very highest quality with its own unique identity. In 1998 we embarked on a major renovation of the cellar: creating welcoming and spacious areas for both the preliminary fermentation and ageing zones, adopting an architectural approach that allows the winemaker s craft and skill to be practised in the most natural manner possible. 8

Immersed in the Chianti region, with over 300 hectares of which 60 are used as Vineyard, you can see poetry coming from Sangiovese,Canaiolo, Merlot and Syrah. The Gigliola, with its history, is the right combination of art and passion, where the notes of the wines play the typical flavors of Tuscany. 10

Today the farms extend s over 20 hectares of vineyards producing Chianti Classico D.OC.G. and I.g.t Toscano. Five hectares of new vineyard have been planned with Sangiovese grapes. The older plants produce Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Sangiovese. After months of looking after our vines the grapes are handpiched, thus guaranteeing further the quality of the product that will fill the vats during the wine-making process. The wine-making takes place in temperature-controlled steel vats. Before bottling, the various wines are matured in either 500lt barrels or smaller oak narrels. The wines all our other products can be bought directly from our shop or ordered on-line via . 11

13 Chardonnay Brut - NV El Calie frizzante bianco Moscato 2013 Borgo Maragliano info@torreraone.it Borgo Maragliano Borgo Maragliano sits 450 metres above sea level, in the heart of Loazzolo on a natural terrace in the Langhe hills. In Spring time a gentle wind called the Marin blows in from the sea and crosses Loazzolo. This magical breeze, known as the Marin, is most welcome as it favours the maturation and the perfume of the grapes. Borgo Maragliano covers an area of 25 hectares of vineyards and the wine is vinified, bottled and packed by members of the Galliano family who preserve a great respect for tradition but at the same time employ the most modern vinification techniques, methods and equipment. Their wines are the result of careful and meticulous labour from vines of Moscato, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. They represent the highest expression of this distinctive territory and of its soil. The unchallenged hallmark and pride of the Borgo Maragliano estate is the Loazzolo Vendemmia Tardiva, obtained from a selected vineyard with a southern exposure and an average yield of 21 hectoliters (hl) per hectare. 13
