1 Highlights: Highlights concerning Foods for infants and young children Date Issue Summary 20/Aug/2018 Of 50 big-name baby foods analysed by Consumer Report, all were found to show the presence of at least one heavy metal, with two-thirds containing "worrisome" levels. Every product tested had measurable levels of at least one of three substances tested for cadmium, inorganic arsenic, or Heavy metal levels in baby food lead. According to the researchers, 15 of the tested products would pose a potential health risk to children who regularly eat one serving or less per day. Highlights concerning General information Date Issue Summary 20/Aug/2018 At least 50 cases of E. coli O157:H7 are being investigated by Swedish authorities. Investigations are ongoing and as of yet the source of infection has not been found. However, the Folkhälsomyndigheten (Public Health Agency) and Livsmedelsverket (National Food Agency) have said this outbreak appears to be one of the largest outbreaks of E. coli that Sweden has seen.
