2 Welcome to your Werribee & Williamstown timetable Your travel All services on the Werribee and Williamstown lines begin or end at Flinders Street Station (you ll notice in the timetable these times are bolded). Services run from 5am to midnight Monday to Saturday and 8am to midnight Sunday. Extra late-night services are scheduled between 12.30am and 1am on Friday and Saturday nights, excluding public holidays. On public holidays services run to a Saturday timetable with the exception of Christmas Day and Good Friday which operate to a Sunday timetable. Across the City Loop, Werribee and Williamstown services arrive and depart from the following platforms: Flinders Street Werribee trains mostly depart from platform 10 on weekdays. Werribee trains depart from platforms 4 & 5 on weekends. Laverton trains mostly depart from platforms 8 & 9 (Mon Fri Peak periods only). Williamstown trains mostly depart from platform 8 & 9 (Mon Fri only). Please check customer information screens at the station on arrival. Continued on page 2

4 Werribee & Williamstown Lines Your travel Southern Cross Werribee trains depart from platform 14 on weekdays. Werribee trains depart from platform 11 on weekends. Laverton trains depart from platform 14 (Mon Fri Peak periods only). Williamstown trains depart from platform 14 (Mon Fri only). Melbourne Central, Parliament and Flagstaff Werribee and Williamstown trains do not operate via the loop on weekdays. Werribee trains depart from platform 3 on weekends. The Werribee and Williamstown lines have seven premium stations that are staffed from first to last service, seven days a week. These stations have a customer service centre for all ticketing and travel needs, toilets and indoor waiting areas (refer to the network map at the back of this timetable). Your needs Sometimes you might be travelling with more than just yourself. The table below outlines some helpful information to ensure an easy, comfortable and safe journey with Metro. Mobility aid All trains provide access for wheelchairs and other mobility aids in the first carriage. Please wait at the allocated position on the platform and the driver will assist you on and off the train via a ramp. Please let the driver know your destination when boarding. All stations on the Werribee and Williamstown lines are accessible by wheelchairs and mobility aids. 2

5 Prams and children At the station, hold onto your pram at all times, apply the brakes and restrain your child with a harness. If you have an older child with you, have them hold your hand or the pram. On the platform, keep your pram parallel to the tracks, behind the yellow line. It is recommended that you travel in one of the first carriages where the driver has the best view of people entering and exiting the train. Board the train with the pram in front of you, lifting the front wheels over the gap. When exiting, step out first then pull the pram towards you, rear wheels first. Pets Guide dogs, hearing guide dogs, guide dogs in training and animals with an Assistance Animal Pass can travel for free on all Metro services. Dogs on leads are permitted but only if they are muzzled. Small animals can travel but they must be housed in a suitable container. Bicycles and surfboards Bicycles can be carried on all services. Customers are requested to avoid heavily congested carriages or services, and to consider the comfort and safety of others. Do not travel in the area behind the driver s cabin as this is allocated for those travelling with a mobility aid. Surfboards can be taken on board but should not take up a seat. If your service is replaced by a bus, rules of travelling on a bus apply, which may mean you won t be able to take your bicycle/surfboard on the service. 3

6 Werribee & Williamstown Lines Your safety Metro works closely with the Victorian Police Transit Safety Division to keep our stations and trains safe. Personal safety is further improved through CCTV surveillance on trains and at stations, as well as increased lighting and presence of Metro employees and Transit Police at many stations (including car parks). Victoria Police also have Protective Service Offices (PSOs) patrolling train stations across Melbourne from 6pm until the last train service to further improve your safety at night. If at any time you feel unsafe on the Metro network look for a Metro employee either a Customer Service or Authorised Officer who will always assist you. In their absence, every platform and carriage has a red emergency intercom button which allows you access to help in an emergency situation. The following advice will help ensure a safe journey with Metro. Arrive at your station earlier than your timetabled service to give you enough time to purchase your ticket and board your train safely. Spread out along the platform this helps avoid crowding carriages. Wait behind the yellow line until the train has arrived at the platform. Stand aside and allow other people to get off before you board the train. Never attempt to hold a train door open or to force it open. Mind the gap between the platform and the train the size of this gap will vary among different stations. Do not run through a station to attempt to board a departing train a closed door signifies the train is moving. Another service won t be too far away. 4

8 Werribee & Williamstown Lines Your ticket to travel myki is Melbourne s ticket to travel on the city s trains, trams and buses. You can buy a myki at any Premium Station, all 7-Eleven stores and retailers where you see the myki sign, myki machines at train stations and selected tram and bus stops (full fare only), onboard the bus, online at ptv.vic.gov.au or by calling A full fare myki costs $6 and a concession myki (senior, concession, child) costs $3. Top up your myki instantly at myki machines, Premium Stations, the PTV Hub at Southern Cross Station and 750 Collins Street, all 7-Eleven stores and retailers where you see the myki sign and onboard the bus. You can also top up your myki online at ptv.vic.gov.au or by calling (allow 24 hours to process). Zones Fares for travelling on Melbourne s trains, trams and buses are separated into two zones: Zone 1 for inner-city and Zone 2 for the middle and outer suburbs. Use the public transport maps to check what zones you are planning to visit and make sure you have enough value on your myki to cover your entire journey. As you touch on and off your myki, it calculates the best fare for your journey. Travelling on a concession myki Children aged three years and under travel free. Concession fares are available if you are aged four to 16 years or hold an approved concession card. Whenever you travel on a concession myki, you must carry the correct entitlement. Failure to produce your valid concession card on request may result in a fine. 6
