Developing a Basic Volume Formula Resource Locker Te volume of a tree-dimensional figure is te number of nonoverlapping cubic units contained in te interior of te figure. Tis prism is made up of 8 cubes, eac wit a volume of 1 cubic centimeter, so it as a volume of 8 cubic centimeters. You can use tis idea to develop volume formulas. Example 2 To find te volume of an oblique cylinder or oblique prism, use Cavalieri s Principle to find te volume of a comparable rigt cylinder or prism.
