This live auction item is for a Friday and Saturday night stay at an Amish-built authentic one room log cabin outside of DeSoto, Wisconsin (between Prairie du Chien and La Crosse). It is for two (2) adults only. The weekend is being offered in either September or October. Winner must make arrangements with owners a month in advance. The cabin is located on a ridge with 3 acres of woods, in a very secluded area. The stay would include a welcome basket of home baked goodies and a bottle of local wine. This is a beautiful area with many winery s and charming small towns within a few hours drive. There are many restaurants, antique stores, orchards and other fun places to explore. The town of Lansing, Iowa is just 10 minutes away. The July/August issue of Midwest Living magazine featured this area often referred to as the Driftless Region. You can enjoy exploring or just relax and read a book, or roast marshmallows at the fire pit. Cabin includes fully furnished new kitchen, full size bed in loft, new wood burning stove and small bathroom. Just down the road you can see the Mississippi River, and parts of Iowa and Minnesota.

The desserts are being made by a group of women who organized a private dinner club, and who are some of the best cooks and bakers in the Stateline area. Dinner club members regularly make recipes from famous chefs. The desserts will be appropriate for the season; such as a warm apple crisp in the fall, Christmas dessert in December etc. The dessert choice is up to the dinner club member who has signed up for that particular month. It will be made and delivered on a mutually convenient date for the recipient and the baker.
