7 RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. Entries will be accepted from any independent butcher in the County of Yorkshire - from either members or non-members of the NFMFT. Entries are also open to Yorkshire farm shops and bakers who make products on their own premises. 2. All entries must be produced on the entrant s own premises. Entries from large wholesalers will not be accepted. 3. All cooked sausages and pies must be cold on delivery. Warm products will, without exception, be DISQUALIFIED. 4. Judges are not allowed to enter and their decision is final. No correspondence can be entered into after the event. 5. Any competitor winning the supreme sausage or pie championship for two years running will be asked to judge in the competition in the following year. 6. Entries should be delivered to the Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford, between 9.00am and 10.30am on the day of the competition. WITHOUT EXCEPTION, NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 10.30AM. TO SAVE TIME AT REGISTRATION, ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PRESENTED ON WHITE POLYSTYRENE TRAYS AND OVERWRAPPED WITHOUT GARNISH. PLEASE NOTE THAT WHITE TRAYS CAN BE PROVIDED ON THE DAY IF YOU DO NOT HOLD YOUR OWN. 7. Judging will commence at 10.30am, with the final at approx 2.30pm. 8. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE RETURNED AND THEY WILL BE DISPOSED OF BY THE ORGANISERS AT THE END OF THE EVENT. 9. SAUSAGES. There will be 3 classes of Sausage - Thin Pork, Thick Pork and Speciality Sausage. Each variety must be named. Each entry to consist of 2 samples - 1 x 454g uncooked + 1 cooked, weighing 454g before cooking. Any type of casing may be used linked any number per 454g. 10. PIES. There will be 2 classes of Pork Pie - Large and Small, plus a Speciality Pie class x 454g Pork Pies 2. 4 x 126g to 152g Pork Pies 3. Speciality Class - can be any size cold eating pie sold whole or by portion. It will contain a mix of any meat, including sausage, with any addition of fruit, cheese or pickle etc. The ingredients should be named. 11. BLACK PUDDING. 454g or over, in rings, sleeves or blocks. 12. BEEFBURGER Each entry to consist of 4 Beefburgers - 2 cooked, 2 uncooked, weight not to exceed 120g before cooking. All Championship Winners, plus 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each class, will receive a trophy. In addition, they and all finalists will receive a YORKSHIRE ROSE AWARD DIPLOMA An Entry Form is enclosed, and can also be downloaded and printed at: Please complete the Entry Form details & return with your remittance by the closing date of Saturday, November 9th, 2013 Hygiene Products kindly donated by Dalziels, of Leeds. THERE IS NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES PLEASE REMEMBER: While multiple entries are welcome in all classes, each entrant can win only ONE prize per class. This ruling does not apply to Speciality Sausage & Speciality Pie classes.

8 PRESIDENT S ANNUAL DINNER DANCE The Confederation President Mr STEVE MARTIN S Annual Dinner Dance - Black Tie - takes place on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16th at Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford with great dance music to JULES BAND Yorkshire s Premier Live Party Band Also top-notch entertainment from the lovely DINNER STARTS 7.30pm PROMPT BEEF KINDLY SPONSORED BY DALZIELS NO INCREASE IN COSTS Dinner: The cost this year is retained at 35 per person, to include 4-course dinner, a glass of wine and port or brandy, live entertainment and dancing. Accommodation: We have again agreed a special overnight B&B package with the hotel at per person sharing a double or twin room, or 45 per single room. CEDAR COURT SAT NAV BD5 8HZ The landmark 25th GREAT YORKSHIRE PORK PIE, SAUSAGE & PRODUCTS COMPETITION takes place on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17th, 2013 at Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford The new date for this year s milestone competition is regarded as ideal, as it comes after the hectic Bonfire Night period and ahead of the Christmas rush. "It's a very special anniversary year and not only am I hoping for a bumper entry in the competition, but also that more butchers, their families and staff will attend the President's Annual Dinner Dance," urged this year s CYBC President Steve Martin, right. Organised by the Confederation of Yorkshire Butchers Councils, the Great Yorkshire remains the UK's biggest and most prestigious regional meat trades competition. Supported by an ever-popular Trade Fair, the contest annually attracts entries from butchers across the county. Farm shops and bakers who make products on their own premises are also eligible to enter. There are again three pork pie classes for traditional, stand and speciality cold eating pies, and three sausage classes - thin, thick and speciality. Supreme champions and reserve supreme champions will again emerge in both the flagship pork pie and sausage classes. There are also standalone black pudding and beef burger competition classes, along with a 'New Kid on the Block' class for the best newcomer to the competition to encourage new blood to enter and gain valuable experience in the meat trades competition arena. This year, we welcome a new sponsor in McDonnells/Dick Knives. All championship, 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed class winners will receive individual trophies and Yorkshire Rose Award diplomas, with diplomas also presented to each finalist. There will be extensive pre and post-event publicity in local and regional newspapers and broadcast media across Yorkshire, as well as in the meat trade press. Major title winners, in particular, can look forward to in-depth exposure, which gives a major boost to trade. An Entry Form is included with this programme and can also be downloaded and printed from the competition website at where full details are also posted, along with a downloadable programme, plus booking forms for both the President's Dinner Dance and overnight hotel accommodation. Remember, there is NO limit on the number of entries, though all entrants are again reminded that, apart from the speciality pie and sausages classes, they can win only one prize per class. This gives others a chance to figure among the class prizes.
