2 A Cordial Welcome to the Oecolampad Imagine the kind of fine hall in which both the Basel Madrigal Singers and the Basel Chamber Orchestra practice. And now imagine that in this very place, the Oecolampad Church Hall, you could hold a celebration of any kind you choose, a state-of-the-art group meeting or even a concert. We can make this dream come true for you. Actually, we are pleased to offer three facilities to you: our small Weinbergstube, our larger Empore, or the Church Hall that can accomodate up to 400 people. There is nothing else in Switzerland quite like the facilities at the Oecolampadius Church Center. The Church Hall also has a stage and a church organ available for your use. Our Church Hall is not just for meetings. It is also ideally suited for a private or company lunch or dinner party for up to 250 people, or a cocktail party for up to 400. In addition, because of the Hall s excellent acoustics, it is a fine place for concerts of all kinds. Please stop by without obligation for a look and a discussion of your needs. During your visit, you will see that the Oecolampadius is anything but a ho-hum venue. Instead, it is the vital center of this quarter of Basel and a place with lots of great possibilities. The friendly atmosphere of the Oecolampadius fosters lively and enjoyable events. The Oecolampadius is only a 10-minute walk from our Hotel Bildungszentrum 21 and is centrally located at Basel s Allschwillerplatz. 4 from CHF per Person This covers the following fees and services: the meeting room rental fee Meeting Costs: Daily Rates basic audio-visual equipment (overhead projector, flip chart, bulletin board, lectern and W-LAN) meeting room mineral water service morning coffee break at our breakfast buffet - coffee, tea, fruit juices, croissants and fresh fruit basket (in-room, in the adjacent foyer, or in the garden). buffet lunch - main course (meat or vegetarian) plus salad and dessert, and including coffee and mineral water. A "stand-up" lunch is also possible. afternoon coffee break, also including fruit juices, fresh fruit, and a self-service pastry buffet (cakes, pies, small pastries) (in-room, in the adjacent foyer, or in the garden). We would be very pleased to send you our banquet information. Also feel free to call us at to discuss your banquet needs in person. For arranging banquets or cocktail parties at Oecolampadius, please note that the following minimum sales are required: Weinbergstube: CHF Empore CHF Church Hall with stage CHF If actual usage (e.g. final number of attendees) is lower, the minimum still applies. 6 Directions to the Oecolampadius Center 10 minutes by foot from Hotel Bildungszentrum21 At the exit from the hotel grounds, turn right onto Missionsstrasse, then right onto Birmannsgasse and cross the large intersection. From there, walk straight ahead on Ahornstrasse to Allschwiller Platz. The Oecolampadius Center is there, on your right. 10 minutes by public transportation from Bahnhof SBB Take Tram 1 to the Birmanngasse stop. From there, it is a 3 minute walk along Ahornstrasse to Allschwillerplatz. The Oecolampad Center is there, on your right. By Automobile Please note that we do not have any parking places for your use at Oecolampad. We recommend that you use the Ahorn public parking facility. Here are the directions: From the highway system take the Basel City exit, in the direction of Bahnhof SBB. At the Bahnhof (train station), follow the sign saying Universitätsspital. At the large Spalentor intersection, turn left onto Birmannsgasse. Follow Birmannsgasse to the next large intersection. Go through it and drive straight ahead onto Ahornstrasse. Then, take the second possible right turn, and you will seen the entrance signs to the Ahorn public parking facility. From there, it is a 2 minute walk along Ahornstrasse to Allschwillerplatz. The Oecolampad Center is there, on your right. January 2015 Page 6

7 Our Terms and Conditions Reservations Reservations are defined exactly: We guarantee your reservation. Please tell us at least 48 hours before the event the exact number of people who will attend. If fewer people attend, we must still charge you for the pre-reported number of guests. Cancellation Costs 90 to 61 days before arrival: a CHF fee for administrative costs. 60 to 31 days before arrival: 50% of the reserved room rental. 30 days or less before arrival: 100% of the reserved room rental. 3 days before arrival: 100% of all costs for the meeting as planned. Organisation Agreement regarding all details, i.e. - setting up the rooms - equipment to be provided - coffee/refreshment breaks - meal times - hotel rooms at least 10 days before arrival. Basic Audio-Visual Equipment Each meeting room (not including additional group rooms) includes an overhead projector, flip chart, bulletin board and lectern. Additional technical aids are charged separately, according to our price list. Availability Specific room assignments are provisory and are subject to change at any time by us. January 2015 Page 7

8 Withdrawing from a Contract We reserve the right to withdraw without damages from a contract if it is determined, after contract creation, that the type of event does not fit our guidelines for the nature and content of events to be held in our facilities. Invoicing After the agreed start date, your invoice is calculated based on the number of guests confirmed to us in writing at least 48 hours before the event. Accepted Forms of Payment Cash (CHF, Euros, and US Dollars), EC-Direct Card, Swiss Postcard, or (by arrangement) with credit cards or by invoice-based transfer of funds. Price Prices subject to change without prior notice. The price includes VAT (value-added tax). Miscellany Any special cleaning (of spills, etc.) is charged at CHF per hour. In case of theft, Hotelbildungszentrum AG shall not be held liable. January 2015 Page 8
