4 22nd ANNUAL WEST VOLUNTEER FRE DEPARTMENT BBQ COOKOFF RULES & REGULATONS BCA SANCTONED & JUDGED 1. Teams wll consst of a Head Cook and (4) team members. 2. Any and all meat and/or meats that may be entered nto judgng wll be cooked from scratch wthn the constrants of the event. Precookng, marnatng, etc., wll not be allowed ether on or off cookoff ste constrants of the event. Precookng, marnatng, ect., wll not be allowed ether on or off cookoff ste pror to the start of the cookoff as defned by the cookoff promoter. 3. Fres must be of wood or charcoal. Pt may nclude gas or electrcty to start natural substance. (Not for full cookng.) Holes or open pts are not allowed. Fres may not be bult on the ground. Each team must brng a fre extngusher. No fres are allowed usng any type of treated wood or lumber. No ralroad crosstes, utlty poles or treated lumber allowed. 4. ABSOLUTELY NO FREWORKS AllOWED ON PREMSES. VOlATORS Wll BE DSQUALFED AND ESCORTED OFFTHE PREMSES. 5. Props, tralers, motorhomes, tents, and any other equpment may not exceed the boundary of the contestant's assgned space. No tent stakes can be drven nto the asphalt. 6. Cooks meetng wll be held Saturday mornng at 9:00 am n the judgng area. Head Cooks Must Attend 2 Chcken Halves Fully jonted splt chcken (breast, wng wth tp, vsble, drumstck, and thgh) Pork Spare Rbs 7 ndvdual rbs (Mnmum) Brsket 7 Full wdth slces approx. 1/4 nch to 3/8 nch thck (Mnmum) Based on the number of cooks, turn n quanttes s subject to change. No garnsh sauce s allowed n the tray at turn n. You may cook wth sauce, but t cannot be ladled onto the meat at turnn. 7. t s the responsblty of the contestant to see that the contest area s kept clean and that the area s cleaned and polced followng the contest. All fres must be put out, concrete blocks and other buldng materals or props hauled away and all equpment removed from the ste. 8. Excessve use of alcoholc beverages may be grounds for dsqualfcaton. Alcoholc beverage rules must be followed (example: poured nto cups). Under no crcumstances are alcoholc beverages to be dstrbuted to the general publc. (Promoters Call) No drnkng glass contaners or bottles allowed. 9. No extra vehcles wll be allowed n the pt area once the pt s setup. Motor home s consdered one (1) vehcle. 10. BCA Judgng rules wll apply. 11. Promoters and cook off offcals wll not be held responsble for accdents, theft or mshaps. 12. No anmals allowed. No bcycles, skateboards, roller blades, 3 or 4 wheelers, golf carts or battery powered vehcles allowed wth the excepton of handcapped. (Cookoff offcals and securty offce are exempt from ths rule) 13. Handcap restrooms and water are avalable. Water avalable for reflls only. No water hookups are avalable for travel tralers or motor homes. 14. All profts go to the West Volunteer Fre Dept. and other nonproft organzatons to be used for the beneft of the West communty. 15. No lve or excessve loud musc allowed. 16.
