2 SPRING 2017 BIO Products Consumers are evolving and their mindsets and behaviour are moving towards sustainability. This trend is evident in the supermarket aisles, which are filling with BIO labels and sustainable products. Legions of shoppers now want products with natural ingredients and organic recipes. More than half of them are willing to pay a premium for this type of product. And they do. Traditional recipes They prefer traditional baked goods, with familiar flavours that remind them of their childhoods. The importance of traceability In a hyper-connected world, where information is easily accessible, supermarkets must take the trouble to show that what they sell is authentic. This makes traceability, quality seals and product image essential tools. On-the-go products! The fact that people want traditional products does not mean that they are going to consume them in the same way: the easy, fast-food segment is still growing. That s why you need to offer them delicious snacks and sandwiches, made with special bread and tempting ingredients, ready to take away and eat. The Tomato version can be eaten solo, but it is even tastier with mild cheese, meat, or fish. For a snack, the Cheese version is an excellent option.
