Large, pouch-like, bright yellow flowers with purplish, brown spots from April to July and broadly oval, basal light green leaves. Campanula rotundifolia 5 gal. Zone 3-7. Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part H -.5 W.5- Rosette-forming, upright herbaceous perennial. H -.5 W -.5 Compact, free-branching perennial that features loose racemes of ultramarine blue flowers from June to July. Dryopteris clintoniana (clinton s wood fern) 3 gal. Zone 3-8. Easily grown in average, medium to wet soils in part shade to full Prefers moist, humusy soils that are rich in organic matter. Do not let soils dry out. W 2-4 Typically grows in an irregular clump with pinnate-pinnatifid fronds. Leaflets are twisted, so the leaf does not appear flat. Echium pininana (giant viper s bugloss tree schism) 2 gal. Zone 8-0. Grow in moderately fertile, welldrained soil in full sun. Avoid excessive winter wet. Protect with horticultural fleece in autumn. Scientifically classed as a 'triennial' since it typically lives for three years, flowering -2 years after sowing. H 0 W 3 A rosette-forming biennial or short-lived perennial with lance-shaped, roughly silver-hairy leaves. Each rosette produces a flower panicle of funnel-shaped blue flowers with large bracts in mid and late summer.

Deadhead to encourage a second flowering. H W 6-2 Large panicles of deepest pink, star-shaped blossoms strikingly marked with crimson, on long stalks borne in profusion above pretty, wavy, lobed, evergreen leaves. This is an ideal flower for cutting. Hemerocallis Wild Horses gal. Zone 3-9. Full sun to partial Not fussy about soil type. Average, dry to moist soil. H 3 W 8-24 Evergreen single bloom daylily. Dense clumps of grassy foliage, with upright stems of trumpet flowers from early to mid summer. 7 bloom that is cream yellow with black, purple halo above green yellow throat. Hemerocallis sp? 20 gal. Bright, burnt orange. Hydrangea macrophylla Blushing Bride gal. Zone 5-. Best in full sun to partial Requires an evenly moist welldrained soil for optimal growth. It is not particular to soil type, but has a definite preference for acidic soils. Will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location. H 6 W 6 Pure white, semi double flowers mature to a delicate pink blush or palest powder blue, depending on your soil ph. Even as the large rounded blooms fade, this elegant variety creates a splash of autumn colour as the leaves turn to red and yellow. Shows good disease resistance, particularly to mildew. Hydrangea paniculata Little Lime 4 gal. Zone 3-8. Best grown in organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part H 3-5 W 3-5 Dwarf Hydrangea with lime green blooms on strong stems - no drooping. As it ages, rich pink colouring emerges to prolong the show through fall. Hydrangea petiolaris 3 gal. Zone 5-9. Best grown in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part Tolerates full sun only if grown in consistently moist soils. Relatively slow-growing, dwarf cultivar with glossy, serrated, dark green leaves and, in mid to late summer, flowerheads that stay pink to purple-red in any soil.

3 Incarvillea delavayi Alba 4 gal. Zone 5-7. Easily grown in soil in full sun to part Prefers deep, moist, sandy soils in full sun. Taproot makes transplanting difficult. H.5-2 W.5-2 Trumpet-like, pure ivorywhite flowers rise just above thick, leathery fernlike foliage on sturdy stems from June to August. Leucothoe axillaris gal. Zone 6-9. Grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in part Prefers an acidic, organic soil. Can be grown in full sun, but must have good moisture. Does not tolerate drought or windy conditions. Features thick, shiny, dark green leaves and clusters of slightly fragrant, heather-like, white flowers which bloom in May. Leaves turn a purplishbronze hue in winter. Tallest of the native American lilies. Elliptic to lance-shaped leaves are arranged in whorls around the stems. Downward facing, nodding, crimson flowers in early to mid summer. Woody-based perennial with upright stems to 6 tall, bearing narrow, hairy, grey-green leaves to 2 long, and terminal racemes of tubular, bright red flowers in late summer and autumn. Monarda didyma (bee balm) 2 gal. Zone 4-9. Best grown in rich, medium to wet, moisture-retentive soils in full sun to part Soil should not be allowed to dry out. H W Fast-growing, deciduous tree that is primarily grown for its profuse spring bloom of foxglovelike flowers and its large catalpa-like green leaves. Upright to spreading. Pieris japonica Little Heath 3 gal. Zone 5-9. Grows well in acidic, moderately fertile, humus-rich soil in sun to bright shade, but may need some protection in winter when young. W 2-4 Compact evergreen shrub with leathery, dark green leaves with white margins, often brightly coloured when young, and small white urn-shaped flowers borne in panicles in spring. Primula poissonii (candelabra primula) 4 gal. Zone 4-8. Grows best in open to light shade and protected from hot afternoon sun. Grow in a rich, moist to wet soil.
