Welcome Welcome to the 70 th edition of The Windmill. Bus Sponsors? We would like to buy or lease a bus (with wheelchair access) to enable us to transport our residents and clients around to events and activities, outings or and sight-seeing trips. To assist with the financial burden of this we are seeking Sponsors if you know of any organisation that may be interested in supporting this great cause and having their logo displayed on the bus please let me know. Monthly Bunning Trips We had our first Bunnings Marion trip where a group of residents enjoyed a planting workshop (including a pot and plant to take home) and a coffee and cake. Please let the Lifestyle team know if you would like to go along to the next one! Visits from local child care center Our weekly visits from children from the local childcare center are being enjoyed by all. The 3-year olds make me feel tired watching them. Works in Progress at Rembrandt Court Fencing: Work on our new perimeter fencing is continuing and is looking great! Room Renovations: Work on Room 12 in House 4 is continuing and apart from discovering damage from a long-term water leak, things are going well. Please take care when entering and exiting Rembrandt Court and around the areas of work. Unfortunately there will be some additional noise from these works. Flexall The feedback from residents trialing the natural Massage Cream in lieu of Flexall has been predominantly positive, thank you everyone. Staff Movements Unfortunately the start date for our new Gardener/Groundsperson, Jeneaha (pronounced Sha-nay-a) has been delayed slightly hopefully only another week. It is nice to know that people are reading The Windmill as many of you were asking where she was!! I am pleased to announce that our new Executive Assistant, Agnes Fowler is starting on Monday, 10 th April. Agnes has been working at Seymour Girls College and happens to be Dutch her father had a brief stay at Rembrandt Court a few years ago! Agnes replaces Christine who has left to concentrate on her new business venture, a café on the banks of the River Torrens. Flu Vaccines: 26 th April 2017 We highly recommend people getting an annual flu shot, particularly those in vulnerable groups and people who live, work or visit people residential homes like ours. This year s Flu Vaccines will be administered to staff and residents who wish to have it by our in-house GP Dr. Lehmann on Wednesday 26th April 2017. As someone who is quite needle phobic, I can assure you all it is very painless and I will line up again this year! Calling all Rembrandt Court Garden Gurus If you have an interest in gardening (whether that be getting your hands dirty or just merely providing input on what to plant where) please join our new Garden Gurus group. The group, which will be coordinated by our new Gardener/Groundsperson Jeneaha will meet regularly and provide input into the gardens at Rembrandt Court. If you are interested, please leave your name with our wonderful Receptionist Cathy. Kleine Café The café will be closed over Easter. Resident Feedback The Resident s Feedback Forum was held on 5 th April and discussed the following: Bunnings Field Trip overall residents really enjoyed. Residents wished they could have looked around to make purchases from garden center;

New menu overall really good variety; loved the salmon; loved the beans New Bain Marie Service trialed that day everyone loved this today being able to have a choice on the spot; Residents are happy with the new planter boxes Fiona reminded residents about Flu Vaccinisations Fiona spoke to residents about the new massage creams to replace the Flexall New Bain-Marie Food Service Our trial of the new bain-marie food service system worked well this week enabling us to change to this system from Monday 10 th April onwards. The new system enables residents to choose what they would like for their meal, what size of meal they would like and have it served to them right in front of them. The kitchen staff will ask each resident 4 questions: 1. Chicken or fish today? 2. All the sides? 3. What size do you feel like today? 4. For dessert, Pudding or? We will monitor it closely and thank you for your patience in the meantime as we get used to the new system! Hackett (GM Home Care) who convinced her photographer friend to do it for mates rates. Photo Shoot To ensure Rembrandt Living continues on for many years to come we have begun marketing and promoting ourselves to the general public. We recently held a photo shoot at Rembrandt Court to gather photos for banners, brochures and the new website. The brief to the photographer was simply to capture the natural beauty of the wonderful people that we have the privilege to provide services to, both in home care and the residential setting. It was a great success. Please see below some of our banners we have had made. Thank you to everyone who participated in the photo shoot, particularly Home Care Client Tinni N who came in especially and Jo
