Welcome Welcome to the 67 th edition of The Windmill. Resident & Families Information Night Thank you to those who attended the Residents and Families Information Night on the 8 th March. We had around 45 guests plus around 12 staff attend this positive evening. The night covered lots of subjects including Renovation work at Rembrandt Court; Advanced Care Directives; an introduction of Fiona, our new Clinical Nurse Coordinator; staff composition (particularly that the number of Dutch-speakers has increased); food safety in resident fridges and the announcement that Direct Debiting for accounts is now available. We received lots of positive feedback, of note was the number of compliments in relation to the re-opening of the Kleine Café, particularly that families appreciate having somewhere to take their love-ones when visiting. visit they lifts spirits, lessens depression, decreases feelings of isolation and encourages communication. See some of the photos over the page. Thanks Donna and Amy it was a great morning!!! Room Renovations On 3 rd of April room renovations will commence at Rembrandt Court. We will be starting with Room 12 in House 4. Raised Garden Beds We have ordered our first 2 portable planter boxes for use in the garden for herbs, flowers or anything the residents wish to plant. We hope to have them by the end of the week. They will look something like this. New Sign at the Front Door Last week the first of our new Rembrandt Living signs was installed at the front of the building, please see photo here to the left. Works in Progress at Rembrandt Court Work on our new perimeter fencing has begun. All of our perimeter fencing is being replaced and raised to 1.8m. Please take care when entering and exiting Rembrandt Court. Unfortunately there will be some additional noise from these works. House 4 Garden Renovations have begun! We have started work in the garden by removing the overgrown hedges and we can now see the path (see below) Pets Visit Rembrandt Court On Thursday tow of our Nurses brought in their dogs for a visit and it was a great success. Many of the residents enjoyed a special visit from Sammy and Tiny. Having animals around has many many benefits, the smiles on the resident s faces being a big one! We can t wait to have Sammy and Tiny back for another
