3 TEA AUCTION CATALOGUE Ceylon Speciality Estate Tea of the Year 2017 Selection of Winners 21 st April 2017 Charity Auction of Award Winning Teas selected by the Panel of Expert Tasters Conditions of Sale All Teas on offer are manufactured from the finest two tender leaves and a bud hand picked from the plant Camellia Sinensis (the authentic tea plant), and are Pure Ceylon Teas of Sri Lankan origin, free of any natural or artificial additives, flavours, herbs, fruits or other extraneous constituents. These Pure Ceylon Teas are original single garden teas manufactured perennially on Tea Plantations in Sri Lanka for sale by auction and private treaty. A Range of Varieties representing the seven major Agro-Climatic Regions and the menclature of Grades, from single garden teas, of which three in each category expertly selected by the Judges and respectively ranked as Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners are available for sale, from amongst which potential Buyers may compete. The Auction will commence at am at the venue. The Total Number of Teas to be auctioned will amount to 30 award winners, the breakdown of which will be as follows: 1. Orthodox Black Teas - 21 lots 2. Green Teas - 03 lots 3. CTC Teas - 03 lots 4. Innovative Teas 03 lots Categories 1, 2 & 3 will comprise 5 kgs. each per lot. Category 4 will comprise 2.5 kgs. per lot. IInspection of Teas on offer could be conducted on Auction day at the venue. Transactions at the Auction shall be in respect of the full quantity of each lot on offer. Payment for Purchases at the Auction shall be settled by the Buyers for the full value of the tea immediately following the auction. Each Buyer will receive a Bill of Sale and a Receipt for payment from the Colombo Tea Traders Association of Sri Lanka. Payment may also be remitted directly to the Colombo Tea Traders Association s Account : at NDB Bank,. 40, Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 02. Delivery Cost by Courier from Colombo to China of each box of 5 kgs. of tea is US$ , and 2.5 kgs. of tea is US$ Delivery costs to other destinations may be ascertained by from euroscan@slt.lk, or chairmanctta@gmail.com. All teas on offer are presently stored in their respective tea factories in Sri Lanka. The above delivery costs, which include Freight, Handling and Insurance from Sri Lanka to the Buyer s nominated destination in China or any other part of the world, shall be met by the Buyer.
