Metal sector as a whole makes up around 37% of total country exports, which gives it a strong lead over top export categories. Development of metal processing sector in B&H has been enabled by country s natural endowment with natural recourses (such as coal, iron ore, bauxite), as well as human capital. The sector is fairly large and it includes ferrous and non-ferrous metal processing, chiefly in iron and steel, aluminum, lead, zinc and cooper. Technical capacities exist in sheet metal processing, welding, plasma cutting, bending, machining, aluminum extrusion, castings and forgings. The sector consistently marks positive trade balance in most of its sub-segments. The present structure of metal sector is characterized by large number of small companies producing lower value-added products. Such environment provides great opportunities for foreign investors to integrate existing primary producers and start production of higheradded products. In addition, there are opportunities to use existing production facilities and capacities to increase production. The metal processing industry in may be classified as follows: 1. In metal sheet processing, we are capable to punch coil in 2.500x1.250 mm dimension, thickness up to 6 mm. Bend parts 3 meters long and powder coat parts high up to 2 meters, wide 1,5 meters and 20 centimeters thick. Production hall, with surface area of over 22,000 m² is equipped with 15 bridge cranes with capacity ranging from 5-35 tons, as well as with external portal crane used for loading and unloading of goods transported by rail of capacity 20t. Complete external infrastructure includes 2 industrial railway tracks, power stations, boiler room and tanks. Total business area is about 31,000 m². The company has a favorable geographical position due to the fact that it is only 50 km away from the Croatian border (EU), which is connected with a network of highways and rail.
