Our policy means we won t ever deal with any business that cannot uphold similar standards to ours, both at home and overseas. Our organic cocoa either comes from a co-operative of over 9,000 small plantations in the Dominican Republic or from a small number of similar but smaller co-ops in some fabulous locations such as Papua New Guinea and Ecuador to name a few. These co-ops have a strong social structure that re-invests into the local society and infrastructure in a way that makes their cocoa based agriculture sustainable, equitable and indeed profitable. Our partners get a price for their cocoa significantly above the open market price for cocoa and indeed a price above the price paid for Fairtrade cocoa. Admittedly we buy probably the best cocoa in the world and pay handsomely for that privilege while the vast majority of Fairtrade cocoa, which although worthy, is not of an acceptable quality for us. In 2013, we were proud to be voted Best Confectionery Brand by visitors of the Speciality & Fine Foods show for the 3rd year running! *Survey carried out by Fine Food Digest the environment We have little children and want them to have a beautiful planet to see and experience and that means everyday we work really hard to minimise our impact on the small world we live in. We will try anything short of not eating chocolate. - Helen Pattinson From small things like re-using our cardboard outer boxes, having movement sensor lighting, night time deliveries or even reducing aluminium in our bar packaging to larger projects involving having computer controlled cooling systems. More tangibly, every little project can make a big difference. Recycling cardboard outers up to 8 times saves over 8,000kg of cardboard per year: that means almost 44 trees saved, 35,000kWh saved, 15,000 litres of oil and a 70% air pollution saving. Now just picture 44 trees in your garden! There is no escaping that chocolate comes from somewhere a long way south and uses energy to get it here, but don t forget those packaging miles. It is estimated that about 30% of total food miles can be attributed to the packaging. About us Selling Chocolate & Advice Having had our own chocolate shops for 14 years, we would like to think we can help you sell the magical dark stuff. Please call us for further details. Product Care Please remember that chocolate will not tolerate excessive heat, cold or humidity. Be especially careful storing chocolate in the fridge. This can cause two problems; firstly most fridges do not de-humidify and therefore a significant amount of humidity is introduced and secondly, when moving the chocolate into a warm room condensation can form causing sugar bloom. Prices & RRP We provide a RRP for your guidance only. In some cases we have provided a range where we know for certain existing customers successfully sell at different prices. Because we have considerable experience retailing our own products we are confident that in most cases our products have a good price elasticity. With low minimums, quick delivery times and lots of fantastic food available as well as Montezuma s Chocolates they might be the perfect way of getting Montezuma s onto your shelves!
