1 6 October 2017 Dear Parents & Carers Since Cucina took over the catering contract for Leigh Academies Trust, the popularity of the SCWA Restaurant has grown considerably and student feedback is very positive. There are a wide range of menu items with many own brand products locally sourced including pasta, chopped tomatoes and pizza sauce. The beginning of the year has seen new products introduced: Street Fusion pots; expansion of the New York Deli range; and guest appearances of seasonal items such as iced coffee from the slush machines. A 4 item pick and mix concept is also available, priced at ; and there are plans to trial a new Street Kitchen food concept. Finally, for a nutritious and warming start to the day, Cucina are now offering a bowl of free porridge, with students being able to add toppings for 25p. The wide range of high quality food and menu choices offered daily is quite frankly, staggering and catering staff can provide meals to suit any dietary condition or food allergy. The Cucina food promise We make all of our food in your kitchen every day At least 90% of our meat is from mainland Britain and is largely red tractor accredited When in season we buy our fruit and vegetables from British farmers or grow our own All tuna is dolphin friendly and all other fish is caught from sustainable stocks All of our eggs and mayonnaise are free range All of our coffee and chocolate is fairtrade We recycle all waste oil in our kitchens into bio-diesel We hold the food for life catering mark in recognition of our ethical and sustainable sourcing As catering contractors for the Trust, Cucina are able to negotiate good prices with suppliers and limit potential increases. However, as we all know from our weekly shopping basket, food prices have increased and we have received notice from Cucina of a 4.9% tariff increase which will come into effect at our Academy from 6 November The new price list is attached*.

2 Students in receipt of Free School Meals will continue to receive a meal deal to the value of. Choices available within the meal deal are attached.
