NOR-CAL NARPI NEWS February/March 2017 Paul Wilhelmus, President, Al Dockus, Vice President Bill Kienzle, Secretary Bob Dower, Treasurer Paul Wilhelmus, President A big thank you to Gladys and Leslie for hosting a wonderful lunch at Mimi's Restaurant in Concord. From the empty plates, it appeared everyone enjoyed their menu choice. It was also nice to see some friends we hadn't seen in awhile. We also had some special guests, Gladys sister visiting from Alaska Neveida Walters and Eric's friend Paul Westlund. Bob and Charlene Intriago had every the intention of joining us but were unable to make it as they were feeling poorly. Hope you two are feeling better now and look forward to seeing you at our next luncheon. Gladys and Leslie participated with their church on a mission to El Salvador. The purpose was to help 28 poor families purchase their own homes. Gladys held a small raffle during the lunch to help raise needed funds so the families could register their properties. I hope our small contribution helps achieve such a worthy goal. Barry Mew shared his experience of dancing with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on the "Live with Kelly and Michael". It sounded like quite an experience. I think it's just a matter of time before Dancing With The Stars comes calling on Barry. Just keep your fingers crossed that Barry's back can hold up to the stress.
