1 February 22, 2012 Dear St. Nicholas Academy Community, Welcome to the Holy Season of Lent. Today we began our 40 day retreat with Mass and the distribution of Ashes. We hope to walk in solidarity this lent as each member of our community attempts to become closer to the Lord. It is truly a grace filled time and my prayer is that we each take a step closer to our God on this journey. Along with our weekly Masses we will gather for Stations of the Cross on March 9, 23, and April 2 nd. We are also trying to do some general ALL School Practices focused upon respect as we continue on. The end of the 2 nd trimester is quickly approaching on March 2 nd. Report cards for the trimester will be sent home on Friday March 9 th. Thanks to ALL who have sent in their registration for next year. There is still time to be entered in the tuition grant raffle so if you have not sent in your registration form please do so. This helps us in making staffing decisions for next year. We have one last chance to work the concession carts at XU on Saturday March 3 rd. Please consider helping. We also need chaperones for the Junior High Dance on March 9 th. A flyer is attached about both of these events. The Yankee Candle Sale will begin shortly with delivery before Easter. Information is included today. 2 February 22, 2012 Dear St. Nicholas Families, St. Nicholas PTO is kicking off our Yankee Candle Sale Thursday, February 23 rd and it runs through Thursday, March 8 th. Information packets will be sent home tomorrow (2/23) with your child. All candle prices are within $1.00 of regular retail price and you don t pay sales tax! Please help support PTO final fund raiser of the school year. If you need extra order forms they will be located in the office. The candles will be delivered the week of April 2 nd. 3 XU Beer Cart Volunteers Needed March 3 rd We still need 4-5 more volunteers for the March 3rd Xavier men s game. Please contact Courtney Booher, ckbooher@yahoo.com or , if you are able to help out. Dates: Saturday, March 3 rd, 11:30am (arrive no later than 12:30)-4:30 Need volunteers Why should you help out? It is fun! It is a great opportunity to meet other SNA Community Members! You will earn an Out of Uniform pass for your child(ren) to be used on the next school day! Each worker will earn a raffle ticket to win a $250 tuition credit! 4 Dance Chaperones are NEEDED for Friday, March 9 th Dance! Some regular dance chaperones are NOT available for this dance. So your help is needed in order to hold the dance. Please check your calendars & report back. SNA Junior High Dance (Open to area 7th & 8th Grade Students) Friday March 9 t h, 7pm-10pm In Activity Center The $7 entry fee is waived for children whose parents chaperone the dance. A signed permission slip is still required. Proceeds support the SNA Athletic Association for improvements and maintenance of our Activity Center.
