2 DAY 1: USA - FRANCE (Friday) Fly overnight to Lyon. DAYS 2 & 3: LYON (Saturday & Sunday) Bienvenus en France! Your French Forum Tour Manager will greet you at the airport. Transfer by private motor coach to the French High School in Lyon in Rhône departement (county). While living with a host family, you will find that French is more than just a textbook language. It becomes a living and working language, spoken and written daily. You will eat French food (at the standard French meal times), meet French people and have an excellent opportunity to practice your French in real-life situations. Enjoy your first evening with your host family. DAYS 4-7: EXCHANGE PROGRAM (Monday - Thursday) Breakfast with your family. Attend school with your pen pals. Lunch at the High School. Afternoon activities and workshops organized at the school during your visit (to be confirmed with the host school). Dinner and evening with your family. DAY 8: LYON - PARIS (Friday) Say goodbye to your host families before transferring to the train station. Board the TGV (French High Speed Train) to Paris. Upon arrival, meet your Forum Tour Manager and drop your bags off at your hotel. After some free time for lunch, head to Île de la Cité and visit the Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame, a magnificent religious edifice and one of the supreme masterpieces of French art. Climb the towers to see the gargoyles! Then, discover the Latin Quarter and its typical atmosphere. Dinner in a typical Brasserie Parisienne. Night accommodation at your hotel. DAY 9: PARIS (Saturday) This morning after breakfast, visit the magnificent Musée d Orsay and its extensive collections of 19th and 20th century paintings, sculptures, architecture and literature. Later, head up to the highest point in Paris: Montmartre (known locally as La Butte). Climb the steps to reach the Sacré-Coeur, Montmartre s hilltop church and most famous landmark. Have dinner at a the restaurant À la Mère Catherine or La Bonne Franquette and enjoy a walk through the place des Tertres. Night accommodation in Paris.

3 DAY 10: PARIS (Sunday) Take the RER train to the Versailles Palace, the extravagant Palace built for the Sun King. Louis XIV s palatial compound and spectacular gardens still wow visitors today just as they did during a period when nobles and mistresses filled the halls, hoping for a glimpse of the king himself. Enter the Château; walk in the footsteps of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette and of President Jefferson and Wilson. Return to Paris and after some free time, around a couple of hours for lunch, walking through the area of the Opéra Garnier and doing some shopping at the famous Galeries Lafayette. You will walk through le Trocadéro and view la Ville Lumière from the third floor of the Eiffel Tower. Dine on the first floor restaurant of the Eiffel Tower (subject to availability). Enjoy a night stroll of the illuminated Paris: Board a glass-topped Bateau Mouche and enjoy a refreshing cruise on the Seine River. DAY 11: PARIS (Monday) This morning after breakfast, enter the Musée du Louvre. The Louvre in Paris is the world s best-known, biggest, and busiest museum. Its famous collection of art and antiquities includes the Mona Lisa but also 35,000 works of art on display in 300 rooms. After some free time for lunch on your own, cross the Tuileries Gardens and stroll down the most famous avenue of the capital, the Champs- Elysées. See the Arc de Triomphe and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Have dinner in the area before heading back to your hotel. DAY 12: RETURN (Tuesday) Transfer to the Paris airport for your return flight home. Your Tour Manager will help you check in at the airport. A bientôt et bon voyage!

4 EXCHANGE PROGRAM An exchange program is an excellent alternative to the classic student tour as it offers the opportunity for students to fully immerse themselves in a different culture, practice and improve their knowledge of a foreign language, and make international connections and friends. The Exchange Program is organized between Briar Woods High School in Ashburn and le Lycée Belmont Capdepon in Lyon. The conditions of this exchange have been agreed upon between the two schools. Note that the number of pupils participating in the exchange may differ between the two schools. Forum cannot guarantee that both schools have the same number of participants. However, additional hosting families will be found in the case that one school does not have the same number as the other school. This is the basic reciprocal agreement of the exchange partner families. The main focus of the host family is to provide meals and lodging to the foreign student, as well as spend time with the student so they can have an authentic experience and better understand a new culture. This gives them the opportunity to see how life in the USA compares to their life at home, as well as practice their foreign language skills in real life situations. The student exchange form provides all necessary information about your guest, including their likes, dislikes, a bit of information about their day to day family life/routine, as well as information about any allergies and emergency contact details.
