All Granny Smith and Golden Delicious are extremely limited and will remain that way until new crop. Asparagus Volume continues with strong supplies from mainland Mexico. California has started with limited production. Markets are steady and overall quality is good. Market should get active as we approach the Easter pull. Avocados Demand exceeds supply. With news of a possible border closure prices have skyrocketed and demand increases with suppliers working to build up inventory for Holy Week and the Cinco de Mayo pull. California continues in a small way with majority of fruit being exported to Asia for a premium. Markets are active and on the rise. Quality remains excellent. Pricing should continue to increase as it typically does in April. Harvesting in MX will also be limited during holy week into Easter Sunday then Demand will spike as we approach Cinco De Mayo. Broccoli The broccoli bunch market continues to stay steady with the nice weather. This warmer weather the next several days is helping to spur growth. Look for supplies to stay steady with the improved weather. Quality is good with slight purpling, some mechanical damage, and occasional yellow cast. Cauliflower Berries Cauliflower continues to come off this week with more supplies in all areas. The Yuma weather continues to spur the growth process which has brought the fields ahead of schedule. The fields next week are looking to gap with supplies becoming much tighter. Overall, the quality is good with minor bruising and yellow cast with weights in the 25 to 28-pound level. Look for the market to get tighter going into next week. Blackberries Quality and supplies continue to be good out of Mexico. Late transfer trucks sometimes disrupt availability, but overall a non-issue. Raspberries Supplies are steady out of Mexico with good overall quality. Strawberry California has had some warmer weather the past several days, which has increased supply and quality. Rains and cooler weather are expected to hit Thursday, and remain until early next week. Look for berry quality to remain similar, and production to remain lower. Blueberry Cooler temperatures in South America have slowed down production, leaving much of the burden on Mexico. Mexico continues to supply blues, but production is slowing down. We could see a gap between Mexico and the start of the California season.

Celery Overall, this market has remained steady, with pricing continuing to be at record numbers.

Escalated pricing continues to be in effect.

Light supplies are expected thru the month of April.

Bell Peppers Supplies out Mainland MX are steady with demand increasing and transition right

Green bells are winding down in mainland MX with Coachella set to begin next week.

Markets are higher on Reds and Golds. Quality is good.

Leaf Lettuce: The quality of romaine has been fair, with discoloration, blister, pinking, and

Citrus Lemons: The Central Valley and Oxnard growing areas are coming along nicely and peaking on 75ct/95ct/115ct as we head into April. Expect limited availability on 165 s/200 s/235 s for the next couple months. Prices are firming up and looking to remain steady on small size choice and fancy fruit. Onions Markets remain active in Idaho as the season winds down, and demand is excessive. Mexico has started to ship some yellows and sweets in a small way. Look for markets to remain active until California starts in mid April. Tomatoes Gas greens continue out of Central Mexico. Quality continues to be excellent. Supplies on vine ripe tomatoes are steady as Central Mexico is in full swing. Roma, grape and cherry tomato volume is strong as good weather dominates. Quality is good. Leaf Lettuce & Iceberg 100% Arizona Product Potatoes Iceberg Lettuce: New crop which is in Salinas has weights at pounds on liner lettuce. Defects being reported to include ribbing, mechanical, mildew, and puffiness. The quality in Salinas has been reported as cleaner. Overall this market is stronger. Warm temperatures in the growing regions have caused insects to be more readily in arrivals. Leaf Lettuce: The quality of romaine has been fair, with discoloration, blister, pinking, and insects being reported upon arrivals. The quality overall is better in Salinas, but production is limited. Insects have been seen most from product in Salinas. Demand overall is fair. Norkotahs are disappearing fast, leaving Burbanks as the main varietal out of Idaho. Sizing is peaking on 70ct and smaller, cause the larger size markets to climb. We expect this to trend for the remainder of the Idaho storage season. Colored potatoes are doing good on all sizes and varietals. Squash Overall Supplies are steady out of MX. Squash fields are finishing in Sinaloa, MX and are transitioning to Sonora, MX. Markets are steady. Quality is excellent.
