Kerala, the land of Gods own country, as it is known, has a history of more than 2000 years of culinary art, a blend of indigenous dishes and foreign dishes adopted to the local taste. Kerala cuisine, is basically split into Travancore and Northern Malabar dishes consisting of vegetarians and non-vegetarian including fish varieties. In addition to historical diversity, cultural influence of Hindus, Muslims and Christian have contributed towards the unique dishes in Kerala cuisine. Availability of indigenously cultivated spices and herbs such as cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, green and red peppers, cloves, garlic, cumin seeds, coriander, turmeric, mint, fenugreek, cashew nuts, etc. etc. have played a great role in formulating Kerala s unique cuisine. The plenteously available of coconut, plantain, various unique fruits and vegetables, tamarind, lime, kodampuli (garcinia cambogia) which is only available in Travancore region, have its own peculiar role in formulating regional dishes. In Kerala cafe, we bring to you a taste of various dishes from Travancore and of Malabar region. You will be able to find a blend of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, made to order to your palate, whether mild, medium, spicy or even if you wish to be adventurous in trying very spicy! 3 PRE MEAL SNACKS An authentic village tea shop special snacks which are freshly made and displayed ready to serve for tea break. It is an unavoidable item for any high tea or for any sort of family get together. These snacks are served with homemade chutneys and pickles. PARIPPU VADA An evening snack made with dals and deep fried in oil. PAPPADA VADA A traditional kerala evening snack food prepared by deep frying the pappads dipped in the rice batter. UZHUNNU VADA A tasty snack made with black gram (uzhunnuparippu) and raw rice PAZHAM PORI Its simply ripe banana s coated with flour and deep fried in oil. MULAKKU BHAJJI mulaku bajji is a popular tea stall snack in South India. its prepared by deep frying the batter coated banana peppers. BONDA Vegetable Bonda is a popular Kerala snack prepared with potatoes and mixed vegetables. These are made of special batter fried mix of beans, lentiles, carrot, peas and potatoes.

Kadala curry and puttu are made for each other and goes well with with appam, idiyappam and puttu. POTATO STEW A simple dish of Kerala that goes well with Appam, Poori, Chapathi, Puttu, Idiyappam, or even with plain bread. wich has one has a more subtle flavor GREEN GRAM IN COCONUT MILK This is a simple Kerala style whole green moong dal curry flavored with coconut. 7 FROM THE POULTRY CHICKEN KERALA KOZHI CURRY There are more than hundred varieties of chicken curry in Kerala. This is the most loved one. Chicken cubes are cooked with roasted coconut and kerala spices. The gravy is medium spicy and intense which goes with any side dish, rice or bread WAYANADAN KOZHI CURRY Wayanad, northern district of Kerala, is world renowned for the black pepper production. Boneless chicken cubes are cooked with black pepper sauce with ginger, garlic and cashew nut and best accompaniment is Paratha CHICKEN STEW Chicken stew with Appam is a popular breakfast fare in Kerala. Chicken and potato cubes are slowly simmered in a subtly spiced coconut milk base with carrot, beans and peas to increase the nutrition profile of the stew CHICKEN ROAST Chicken cooked and roasted in spicy onion tomato gravy.
