1 WINE LIST Effective from April 2017 This list is a compilation of quality wines chosen and categorised by a Master of Wine. There is a wide variety, designed to suit all occasions and complement the menus. Wines are classified for ease of selection for specific events and different foods. The choice of wines has been made with quality, character and variety in mind; all represent excellent value. Please be aware that the vintages are subject to change without prior notice. Rare wines, older wines that are currently drinking and bin ends are available in small quantities on a pre-paid, fixed quantity reserved basis. 4 ENGLISH WINE Harrow & Hope Henry and Kaye single vineyard sits on an ancient Thames gravel terrace in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, where water flowed about 450,000 years ago. For thousands of years the Thames cut down into the gravels and chalk, and left a terrace with steep slopes with large deposits of flint gravel, mixed into thick orange clay lying on top of the chalk. This is classic Thames Terroir and exists all around the valley at various heights above sea level. Being quite central and away from the coast they experience high summer day temperatures with cooler nights that preserve the precious acidity needed for the quality of sparkling wine.
