Local Option Elections There were sixteen local option elections during the fiscal year ending August 31, Five elections were called to legalize the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only; four remained -dry,' and one became "wet.' Four elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages Including mixed beverages; one remained "dry," and three became "wet.' Three elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only; one remained "dry," and two became "wet." Two elections were held to legalize the sale of beer and wine; one remained "dry," and one became "wet." Two elections were held to legalize the sale of mixed beverages; both became "wet." The voting for the fiscal year: ANGELINA COUNTY A local option election was held on April 14, 1992, In Justice Precinct 4, Angelina County, for the Issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The Issue failed by a vote of 465 FOR and 696 AGAINST. Justice Precinct 4, Angelina County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." BRAZORIA COUNTY A local option election was held on May 2, 1992, in the City of Iowa Colony, Brazoria County, for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages Including mixed beverages." The Issue passed by a vote of 37 FOR and 9 AGAINST. The City of Iowa Colony, Brazoria County, was "wet" for the sale of beer before the election and became "wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages." BURNET COUNTY A local optlon election was held on July 18, 1992, in the City of Burnet, Burnet County, for the issue of ''The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages.' The issue failed by a vote of 306 FOR and 427 AGAINST. The City of Burnet, Burnet County, was "wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only before the election and remained "wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only. DENTON COUNTY A local option election was held on August 29, 1992, In the City of Pilot Point, Denton County, for the issue of ''The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only." The Issue failed by a vote of 321 FOR and 322 AGAINST. The City of Pilot Point, Denton County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." ELLIS COUNTY A local option election was held on February 13, 1992, in the City of Palmer, Ellis County, for the Issue of ''The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The Issue failed by a vote of 136 FOR and 265 AGAINST. The City of Palmer, Ellis County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." TASC-02
4 GREGG COUNTY A local option election was held on July 25, 1992, In the City of Lakeport, Gregg County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The issue failed by a vote of 44 FOR and 99 AGAINST. The City of Lakeport, Gregg County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." HILL COUNTY A local option election was held on February 8, 1992, in the City of Hillsboro, Hill County, for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages." The issue passed by a vote of 659 FOR and 647 AGAINST. The City of Hillsboro, Hill County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages. JACK COUNTY A local option election was held on September 5, 1991, in the City of Bryson, Jack County, for the Issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only." The issue passed by a vote of 81 FOR and 80 AGAINST. The City of Bryson, Jack County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages tor off-premise consumption only. JOHNSON COUNTY A local option election was held on September 10, 1991, in the City of Rio Vista, Johnson County, for the Issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine." The issue passed by a vote of 80 FOR and 18 AGAINST. The City of Rio Vista, Johnson County, was "wet" for the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only before the ejection and became "wet" for the sale of beer and wine. REEVES COUNTY A local option election was held on November 5, 1991, In Justice Precinct 3, Reeves County, for the issue of "The legal sale of mixed beverages." The Issue passed by a vote of 192 FOR and 118 AGAINST. The Justice Precinct 3, Reeves County, was ''wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages before the election and became "wef' for the sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages. REFUGIO COUNTY A local option election was held on May 26, 1992, in the City of Bayside, Refugio County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine: The issue failed by a VOle of 46 FOR and 67 AGAINST. The City at Bayside, Refugio County, was "wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only before the election and remains "wer for the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only. 5 ROCKWALL COUNTY A local option el ectlon was held on September 7, 1991, in the City of Mobile City, Rockwall County, for the Issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages Including mixed beverages." The Issue passed by a Yote of 19 FOR and 0 AGAINST. The City of Mobile City, Rockwall County, was "wet" for the sale of beer and wine before the ejection and became "wet" for the sale of au alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages. TARRANT COUNTY Two local option elections were held on December 7, 1991, In the City of Colleyville, Tarrant County, the first for the Issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only" and the second for the Issue of "The legal sale of mixed beverages." In the first election, the issue passed by a vote of 1547 FOR and 1193 AGAINST. In the second election, the issue passed by a yote of 1513 FOR and 1212 AGAINST. The City of Colleyville, Tarrant County, was "dry" before the election and became ''wet'' for the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only and for the sale of mixed beverages. WISE COUNTY A local option election was held on Jt,lne 9,1992. In the City of Runaway Bay, Wise County, for the issue of 'The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The issue failed by a vote of 115 FOR and 175 AGAINST. The City of Runaway Bay, Wise County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." YOUNG COUNTY A local option election was held on October 1, 1991, in the City of Newcastle, Young County, for the Issue of 'The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for oh-premise consumption only." The Issue passed by a vote of 157 FOR and 133 AGAINST.
