3 -87 LOCAL OPTION ELECTIONS There were twenty-three local option elections during the fiscal year ending August 31,1984. Seven elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only; four rem~ined "dry" and three became "wet. 1I Two elections were called to 1ega 1; ze the sa1e of mi xed beye rages; bot h became "wet." Three el eclions were called to legalize the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only; all remained "dry." Six elections were called to legalize the stlle of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages; one remained "dry" and five became "wet." One election was called to legalize the sale of beer for on-premise consumption; one remained "dry." Four elections were called to legalize the sale of beer for off-premise consumption only; all became "wet." The voting for the fiscal year: CHEROKEE COUNTY City of Cuney. Cherokee County, on June ~. voted 55 for "the legal sa le of beer for of f -premi se consumpt 10n on Iy" and 23 aga i ns t "the 1ega1 sale of beer for off-premise consumption only." City of Cuney. Cherokee County. was "dry" before the election was held and became "wet" for the legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only." CLAY COUNTY Precinct No.2. Clay County, on December 20, 1983, voted S5 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverges for off-premise consumption only" and 17 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for offpremise consumpt10n only." Precinct No.2. Clay County, was "dry" before the election was held and becarre "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only.

Precinct No.3. Oimmit County. was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry." GLASSCOCK COUNTY Precinct No. I. Glasscock County, on June 5, voted 76 for "the legal sale of beer for off-pr~ise consumption only" and 37 against "the legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only." Precinct No. I, Glasscock County, was "dry" before the election was held and became "wet- for the legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only. GRAYSON COUNTY Precinct No.8, Grayson County, on March 31, voted 677 for "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only" and 804 against "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consur.'lption only." Precinct No.8, Grayson County. was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry."

Henderson County. on April 2~. 1984, voted 20 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverges. including mixed beverages" and 49 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages. including mi xed beverages." KLEBERG COUNTY Precinct No.3, Kleberg County. on August voted 196 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages" and 129 against "the legal sale of all alcoho11c beverages including nllxed beverages." Precinct No.2, fh'am County, on May 8,1984, voted 161 for "the legal sale of beer for off-premi se consumption only" and 122 agai nst" the legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only." Precinct No.2, Milam County, was "dryll before the election was held and became wet" for the legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only. NACOGDOCHES COUNTY Preci nct No. 1\, Nacogdoches County, on August 4, 1984, voted 268 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 540 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premi se consumpt i on only." Preci nct No.4, Nacogdoches County. was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry." NAVARRO COUNTY City of Navarro) Navarro County, on June 11, 1984, voted 18 for "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only" and 51 against "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." ORANGE COUNTY City of Orange, Orange County, on August 11, voted 1,654 for "the legal sale of all a)coholic beverages including mixed beversges" and 1,253 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages." City of Balmorhea. Reeves County, was "dry" before the election was held and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoho11c beverages including mixed beverages. SAN SABA COUNTY Precinct No.3. San Saba County. on October voted 74 for "the legal sale of all alcohollc beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 179 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only." Precinct No. 3 was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry." STONEWALL COUNTY Precinct No. 4. Stonewall County. on August 4, 1984, voted 44 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consu!'1ptlon only" and 47 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-pren1ise consumpt i on.
