Here your registration will take place, where you will be given collateral and informational material regarding the convention and Shanghai in general, along with your entry badge, which must be worn to all events. The Peace Hotel is a glamorous Art Deco hotel and was the jewel in the crown of the late Sir Victor Sassoon s empire. Its jazz musicians were legendary, as were the costume parties and general hi- society events that took place in the luxury hotel in the early part of the 20 th century. Dinner will take place in the historic Peace Hall, Shanghai s most famous ballroom and is the ideal venue to introduce one of Shanghai's landmark buildings to the overseas visitor and chosen for B&B members to kick off, the three- day convention in Shanghai.

The event will be hosted by Fongyee Walker, the co- founder of Dragon Phoenix Fine Wine Consulting. She is a Member of the Institute of Wines & Spirits, China s only Master of Wine exam candidate, a WSET certified Educator and Assessor and has designed special trade- targeted wine courses in Mandarin for such bodies as Wine Australia and the American Trade Organization. Fongyee has also written articles for Decanter Magazine, The World of Fine Wine, Hong Kong Tattler, and Drink Magazine (Shanghai) among others. Fongyee was also a contributor to the award- winning documentary Red Obsession. Fongyee has been visiting winemaker at Brown Bros. Winery in Australia and in 2010; she was one of only 13 people worldwide chosen to attend the Landmark Wine Tutorial. Fongyee has judged at numerous wine competitions including the London International Wine Challenge, the Hong Kong International Wines and Spirits Competition and has been guest international judge in such shows as the Royal Melbourne Wine Show 2011, Hawke s Bay Wine Show 2012, the Qantas Western Australia Wine Show 2012 and the Annual Wines of Chile Awards (AWOCA) Afternoon at leisure

Built by H.E. Morriss in 1917, who founded the North- China Daily News. The Morriss residence is a registered historical landmark of Shanghai and the focal point of the Morriss estate. Throughout the 20 th century some of Shanghai s most famous celebrities and political leaders, including Chairman Mao, General Chen Yi and Chiang Kai- Shek have resided at the property.

5 Sunday October 18, h00 Excursion to Zhujiajiao water village Followed by Brunch at She Shan hills Dress code: Casual attire / comfortable shoes recommended Located in outskirts of Shanghai, Zhujiajiao is an ancient water town well- known throughout the country, with a history of more than 1700 years. Covering an area of 47 square kilometres, the little fan- shaped town glimmers like a bright pearl in the landscape of lakes and mountains. Endowed with another elegant name - 'Pearl Stream' - the little town is the best preserved among the four ancient towns in Shanghai. Unique old bridges across bubbling streams, small rivers shaded by willow trees, and houses with courtyards attached all transport people who have been living amidst the hustle and bustle of the modern city to a brand- new world full of antiquity, leisure and tranquillity. Sunday October 18, h0o 15h30 Farewell Brunch Le Meridien She Shan Shanghai 1288 Linyin Xin Lu, near Shenzhuanjiasong Lu 上海佘山世茂艾美, 林荫新路 1288 号, 近沈砖嘉松路 Le Meridien She Shan is a weekend getaway for many a Shanghai resident, the hotel is overlooked by the She Shan hills that surround the property, and rise to just over 100 meters. Atop of the hill is the Our Lady of China Catholic Church, also known as Sheshan Basilica, which was built there between 1925 and 1935 following its establishment as a chapel in the 1850s by European missionaries. The hill, also houses a Jesuit observatory which displays, in addition to scientific equipment of the modern era, a replica of a Han dynasty earthquake monitoring device, consisting of a jar with dragon heads mounted around the outside and a pendulum inside. Each dragon has a steel ball in its mouth. When an earthquake occurred, the pendulum would swing; knock a dragon causing its mouth to open and a ball to drop out thereby indicating the quake's direction.
