The ReadyBrew kits take me back to the roots of Paddock Wood Brewing and we still sell the ReadyBrew kits at the Brewery for do-it-your-selfers. It all started in 1995 in my basement as a mail-order only store for all-grain brewers. But in 2000 I had an idea. I had been making 10 gallon batches and split the batch with a friend who loved the fresh all-grain brewing. While there were just a few all-grain brewers in town, there would be thousands who use kits. But kits typically don't make good beer. So I thought What if I opened a store that made beer kits from scratch, custom made in fact to individual requests? People would check out my store with a puzzled look. We were a brewing supply store with no kits! Instead we asked them to tell us what their favourite beer was, and we would source ingredients and recipes to create it for them. Then we Now Only 1299 A word from Brew Master Steve... made two kits: one for them and one for whoever thought it sounded good. It was pretty crazy really. We soon had hundreds of different recipes on file replicating beers from around the world. Because these kits are brewed to style and gravity, all a person needs to do is add yeast, they were ready to go, hence the name ReadyBrew. So in a nutshell ReadyBrew kits give you the quality of allgrain brewing, in an easy no-mess format. We make the all grain grist and mash it in our brewery with carefully selected specialty grains. Each kit gets a full 90-minute boil with fresh hops. Then it s packaged and ready for you to take home- and in some cases wort is split between our Paddock Wood fermenters and our ReadyBrew kits!
