Strong buy Chateau Giscours cases Chateau Giscours :00 case 4 cases Magnums case The 2015 Giscours is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. That is in stark comparison to older vintages, for example the 2000 Giscours that was 50/50 Cabernet and Merlot. This vintage is matured in 50% new oak. Winemaker Alexandre Van Beek told me that the 2015 "...reflects the true terroir at Giscours that created the great wines of the 1960s and 1970s." That is something to live up to with fresh memories of the 1961 in my brain. The bouquet is very intense and almost "untamed" at first, but it calms down in the glass, revealing attractive scents of blackberry, raspberry, cedar and graphite. This is a Giscours determined to make a good impression...and it does. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very pure, a little spicier than recent vintages, adorned with a gentle crescendo in the mouth towards a really quite fantastic, tensile, complex and compelling finish. Having tasted the 1961 and 1970 Giscours just a few months ago, I wager that the 2015 will be the best since the Time to fall back in love with this great Margaux property /100 WA White wine. Simply stunning a direct press of 70% Grenache and 30% Cinsault aged all in stainless steel vats. Very light pink in colour, it gives up fresh, crisp aromas of rose petal, white peach and hints of melon in its medium-bodied, clean, elegant and hard-to-resist personality. Beautiful as always, the 2016 Saint Drezery Prestige Rose offers clean, crisp notes of white peach, strawberries and hints of flowers. Janisson Baradon is a fifth generation family business based in Epernay. Its champagnes are produced using grapes grown from its own vineyards, which span 22 acres. The grapes come from three champagne vines in different terrains, which give the champagnes their distinctive taste. The emphasis is very much on quality and this is reflected in the number of awards that they have won in France. Expressive wine that makes a good introduction to the house style. Clean veins of minerality support the fruit in this mid-weight, attractive wine. Pears, flowers are nicely layered into the finish. Superb value. 20 cases Andre Clouet Rose Champagne per case 12/ inc vat bt 25 cases Magnums per case 6 Mags inc vat mag Clouet family is a family of winemakers whose origins, as they say, "got lost in the mists of time". Its founder was a printer in the Versailles court of Louis XV and for several generations, their descendants continued this work. This peculiar stye " Ancien Regime" on their labels is a tribute to the founder of the house. It took more than two centuries and several generations of Clouet to get plots of vines in the terroir of Bouzy, which remain in the hands of the family of its founder. Bouzy is situated in the southern part of the Mountain of Reims. The rose Champagne has lively, pink bubbles. Excellent deep colour and a beautiful nose filled with strawberry, raspberry and almonds. On the palate the champagne is creamy and fruity, excellent with both food and as an aperitif on that special night. Outstanding rose!! Champagne Pol Roger. 2 cases Pol Roger 2000 Cuvee Winston Churchill case dp 6/ inc vat bt The first thing that is evident about the 2000 Brut Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill is its finesse and total silkiness. The 2000 is a rich, creamy and deeply expressive Winston Churchill. I don t see the 2000 being an especially long-term ager, but it is wonderfully radiant and open today. Hints of pastry, spice, apricots and succulent ripe pears blossom on the expansive, broad-shouldered finish. 3 There's a sense of quiet elegance and grace to this harmonious Champagne. Refined and lacy in texture, with finely wrought acidity lending focus and length to the spice- and graphite-laced flavors of ripe apricot and blackberry, lemon meringue pie, chopped almond and briny mineral. Drink now through /100 WS 10 cases Pol Roger 2004 Cuvee Winston Churchill case dp 6/ inc vat bt 2 cases Magnums case dp per 3 mg inc vat mag An intense golden-yellow colour dresses the Pol Roger prestige cuvee 2004 Sir Winston Churchill, which opens with a clear, deep, dense, ripe, fresh, pure and elegant bouquet of matured apples, apricots and lemon flavours along with exciting spicy flavours. Although this Brut is already more than 11-years-old, it is dew-fresh and still developing--slowly. This Champagne is highly complex and well-structured on the palate, with grapefruit flavours; it is a full-bodied and intense, yet very firm, persistent, fresh and very elegant assemblage of unnamed Grand Cru Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. It reveals a very long and complex, powerful but stimulating finish, and obviously, an eternal youth. The finish is powerful and stringent, and reveals a great, great aging potential. The wine is somewhat restrained and too compact at the moment though, and should benefit from a longer bottle aging. 95+/100 RP New release. 10 cases Pol Roger vintage per case IB 6/1 bottles per bottle inc vat Really quite broad and ripe on the nose with mildly floral notes and a hint of putty. Really very dramatic! Even a hint of marzipan. Creamy texture with a little bruised apple acidity. Admirably long. Really exciting. It has a broad, rich mid-palate and a truly dry, salient finish with a phenolic touch of a ripe year. The fruitiness is polished and bright and there is fine, balanced freshness to it. This vintage is built to last, it is still tight but packed with fleshy fruitiness. 96 points Essi Avellan MW New purchases. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, dipping a little in the middle, but coming together on the attractive, licorice-tinged finish. A lovely little Entre-Deux-Mers. 100 cases Chateau Pontet Bel Air 2015 Pian sur Garonne nr Langon per case 12/ per bt inc vat Gold Medal Paris 2016 Gold Medal Bordeaux 2016 A blend of Cabernet & Merlot, nicely balanced with supple red cherry and raspberry fruit with a saline towards the finish. Enjoy this now & over the next few years. Great value Bordeaux wine of the month: Highly Recommended. 20 cases Chateau Teyssier 2009 Saint Emilion per case 12/ per bottle inc vat The vineyard of Chateau Teyssier situated on the mountain of St Emilion, a few kilometres north-east of St Emilion, almost exclusively composed of Merlot, Chateau Teyssier is characterised by its extreme fruity and spicy aromas and for its harmonious and balanced tannins. Recommended 16 cases Chateau Fourcas Dupre 2010 Listrac per case 12/ per bottle inc vat Jancis Robinson Primeur 2012 : Dark purple. Sweet then savoury on the nose. Good freshness. Very plush texture and wonderful work to make this as engaging as possible.

4 Decanter Primeur 2012 : Attractive florality, red fruits, a well-made, elegant Listrac, Steven Spurier 92/100 James Suckling. If you like Chateau Beaumont you will enjoy this delicious. 20 cases Chateau Bernadotte 2012 Haut Medoc-New purchase per case 12/ per bottle inc vat (From the same owners Chateau Pichon Lalande) This 2012 comes across as a well-made, over-achieving wine from this property. Dense ruby/purple, with notes of vanilla, spice box, earth and plenty of blackcurrants, it is medium-bodied, with ripe tannins, in a classic, traditional style. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Robert Parker 50 cases Chateau Fourcas Borie 2012 Listrac per case 12/ per bottle inc vat Soft & velvety, firm tannins and black fruits. This is a juicy, balanced, fairly simple red with freshness. Enjoy while young. Made from 30 year old vines with 54% Merlot and the rest Cabernet. Drinking well now. Château Fourcas-Borie was created when Bruno Borie (owner of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou) purchased Fourcas-Dumont in late The property originated from the union of the estates of Clos du Fourcas and Moulin du Bourg, which are among the oldest vineyards of the village located on the north end of Listrac-Médoc. Just purchased from the Chateau available November One of the best Beaumont s in years. Highly Recommended. 20 cases Chateau Beaumont 2010 Haut Medoc per case 12/ per bottle inc vat Concours de Bordeaux Vins d'aquitaine, 2012: Argent/Gold Medal award. This large estate has produced a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot offering up notes of roasted herbs and liquorice, red and black currants. Medium-bodied, relatively lush and fruity in style, it can be drunk over the next 5-6 years. Buy 15 cases Pauillac per case 12/ per bottle inc vat (wine from a rather famous 1st Growth Chateau in Pauillac) It has soft, round tannins, endearing elegance, and up-front fruit. Its lush, richly fruity style is charming and seductive, with raspberry, blueberry, mocha and blackcurrant fruit and a deep ruby/purple colour. This medium-bodied, supple-textured wine is surprisingly forward, and therefore best drunk over the next 8 years. 3 cases Pauillac per case 12/ per bottle inc vat (wine from a rather famous 1st Growth Chateau in Pauillac) A big bold yet perfectly balanced wine, packed with bags of fresh black fruit which lead into firm, fine grained tannins and outstanding length, this will keep for the next five years. 16 cases Cambon La Pelouse 2009 Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois per case 12/ per bottle inc vat Another of my favorite estates from the southern part of the Medoc, Macau, this Haut-Medoc cru bourgeois is a blend of 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. The alcohol was 14% and the wine bottled unfined and unfiltered by its consulting oenologist, the brilliant Claude Gros. Wonderfully dark ruby/purple in color, with loads of sweet berry fruit as well as hints of licorice and charcoal, the wine displays a lush texture, medium to full body, and the vintage s tell-tale ripeness, high glycerin and silky texture. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. 90/100 Robert Parker 5 cases Hautes du Tertre 2010 Margaux per case 12/ per bottle inc vat The 2010 Hautes du Tertre has a nice dark plum/garnet color, a slightly more evolved style than most Margaux, hints of cedar, licorice, black olive and black currant fruit with some flowers and subtle smoky wood in the background. Medium to full-bodied, round, generous and ripe, the words sexy and opulent come to mind when smelling and tasting this beautiful Margaux. 3 cases Château Calon-Ségur case 12/1 IB per bottle inc vat This is one of the most famous names in Bordeaux and is renowned for making classic, structured claret that is true to the St Estèphe style. Perfect for current drinking.. James Suckling, the famous American wine critic, has just re-tasted the 1995 vintage of this wine and awarded it 97 points, saying that it has such purity and power yet it s reserved and beautiful. He goes on to say that it is one of the best Calon Segurs ever. I always loved this wine from the first time I tasted it in It has such purity and power yet it's reserved and beautiful. It's one of the best Calons ever. I drank a bottle with some friends in Manhattan last week and it was the wine of the evening. It was full-bodied with silky tannins and a focused and intense finish. Lots of currant and berry character and hints of dried spices. It's finally opening up and giving real pleasure now like so many 1995 Bordeaux at the moment. 97/100 Score, James Suckling May 2015)

Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh herb and delicate spice aftertaste. This wine was stunning in the glass amazing flavors & fruits, really opened up after 30 minutes in the glass. Fabulous. 8 cases Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron 2009 Magnums per case 6/ per mag inc vat Cru Bourgeois-Haut Medoc Loads of berry fruit intermixed with some roasted herbs, spice box and licorice can be found in this excellent Haut-Medoc, which has medium body, lots of fragrance and very pure flavours. Great value 5 cases Baron de Rouillac 2009 Magnums Pessac Leognan per case 6/ per mag inc vat 2 nd wine Chateau Rouillac This shows Pessac's prototypical tar, roasted tobacco leaf and steeped black currant profile, with racy acidity and a smoldering finish that should stretch out nicely with midterm cellaring. Drink now through cases Les Hautes Du Tertre 2009 Magnums per case 6/ per mag inc vat (2nd wine from Chateau du Tertre) A seductive, opulent, textured Margaux with notes of liquorice, black fruits, asphalt, pen ink and truffle, this is one of the finest 2nd wines made at du Tertre. It has a hedonistic quality to it, but at the same time, there is great class, precision and freshness to this fullbodied,concentrated wine. 9 cases La Sirenne de Giscours 2010 Magnums per case 6/ per mag inc vat The aromatics are very focused with black fruit, violets, fig and mineral scents that are very well defined. The palate delivers, delivers and delivers brilliant delineation and poise, more freshness than it knows what to do with, an intensity that is supremely well focused and length in the mouth. There is even a dab of mint chocolate making a surprise appearance on the aftertaste. This is a very impressive Giscours. Medium plus-bodied, concentrated, with both fine tannin and bright acidity, it will deliver the good for at least 5-7 years. 90/100 Robert Parker 3 cases Vieux Telegraph 2012 Domaine Brunier case IB The top wine of the estate, the 2012 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape (which is always a blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault and other grapes, from 65-year-old vines) is a classic example of the cuvee and possesses gorgeous aromatics (kirsch, garrigue, big minerality and background meatiness), medium to full-bodied richness and a firm, tannic spine. As is common, it will require a handful of years in the cellar to come around and have 15+ years of longevity. Drink /100 RP 2 cases Vieux Telegraph 2000 Southern Rhone case duty paid per bt inc vat The elegant 2000 Vieux Telegraphe La Crau possesses 14.8% alcohol, along with a deep ruby/purple color, charming, rich, fruitiness, and firm tannin in the finish. With loads of freshness, copious quantities of pepper, seaweed, and black fruit characteristics, and a distinctive minerality, this full-bodied, sweet 2000 requires 2-3 years of cellaring; it should age well for years. 91/100 RP. 2 cases Hermitage La Chapelle 1990 Jaboulet case 12/1 plus vat The 1990 La Chapelle is the sexy and opulent. I had the 1990 at the Jaboulet tasting, and again out of a double magnum three months ago. On both occasions it was spectacular, clearly meriting a three-digit score. The modern day equivalent of the 1961, it deserves all the attention it has garnered. The colour remains an opaque purple, with only a slight pink at the edge. Spectacular aromatics offer up aromas of incense, smoke, blackberry fruit, cassis, barbecue spice, coffee, and a touch of chocolate. As it sits in the glass, additional nuances of pepper and

7 grilled steak emerge. There is extraordinary freshness for such a mammoth wine in addition to abundant tannin, an amazing 60-second finish, and a level of glycerin and thick, fleshy texture that have to be tasted to be believed. Despite its youthfulness, the 1990 La Chapelle is lovely to drink, although it will be even better with another 5-6 years of cellaring; it should age for years. Anticipated maturity: /100 Robert Parker 1 case Hermitage La Chapelle 1989 Jaboulet case 12/1 plus vat This fabulous, blockbuster has been totally unevolved since bottling, but at the Jaboulet tasting, it was beginning to reveal some of its formidable potential. A saturated opaque purple colour is followed by aromas of cassis, minerals, and hot bricks/wood fire. Super-ripe and full-bodied, with a massive mid-section, teeth-staining extract, and mouth-searing tannin, it is a monster-sized La Chapelle. Anticipated maturity: /100 Robert Parker 9 bottles Hermitage La Chapelle 1983 Jaboulet bottle plus vat Fantastic quality makes your palate spin with joy. Warm July and August with timely rains were a recipe for greatness, and this is a vin de garde. Seamless and silky, but also with a firm backbone of mineral, wet earth, plum, blackberry and leather notes. An oldfashioned red with a long finish.--la Chapelle vertical. Drink now through /100 Wine Spectator. 5 cases Chateau Neuf Hautes Brusquieres 2009 Charbonnieres case duty paid per bt inc vat The biggest, richest 2009 of the three is undoubtedly the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Hautes Brusquières Cuvee Spéciale. The first words I wrote in my notes were Rock Star, and this awesome 2009 is overflowing with notions of black currants, licorice, roasted herbs and garrigue. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, perfectly judged acidity and convincing harmony. This is a sophisticated Sauternes with superb mineralite and outstanding persistency.
