Giuseppe Cortese DOC 2013 $46 Giuseppe Cortese began a lifelong passion for winemaking working with his father Giacomo in the family business in the 1960 s. This small family wine business is well known for producing exquisitely balanced wines from the Tirfolera zone in Piedmont where prized white truffles can be found. This Dolcetto d Alba entices the senses with notes of juicy black cherries, black currants and violets. Elegant and velvety with harmonious flavors and a pleasant aftertaste. Primitivo is made in a completely modern facility in a quite unique way. Half fermented in the traditional style of oak barrels and half fermented using modern techniques of stainless steel. A delicious Red Wine full of fruit and flavor. LUIGI RIGHETTI SOL 2015 $ Region: VENETO ~ Hand harvested and produced in the Ripasso method. A modern wine, full bodied, rich in color and aromatics. The corvine grapes are dried for 90 days, blended after fermentation then aged in oak for 13 months using both French and American Oak. Full, intense dark fruit and cherry aromas rich and intense flavors with scents of ripe fruits, vanilla and wood character. PALAZZO DELLA TORRE ALLEGRINI 2011 $ Region: VENETO ~ This is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous throughout the world. The blend is the historic combination of Corvina and Rondinella with the addition of small quantity of Sangiovese. A small percentage of the harvested grapes are left out to dry until December and then added to the previously vinified fresh grapes. The result is a velvety, well-balanced red wine ant proffers mature, pulpy fruit.

Of the 20 cases available to the entire Eastern part of the US of which we purchased 15. An outstanding Amarone della Valpolicella with flavors of plum sauce, dark chocolate, date and herm-marinated black olive are rich and ripe up front. BAROLO Region: Piedmont ~ 100% Nebbiolo based, these wines are notably modest in color with high levels of both acid and tannin and aromas of tar, roses and truffles. The wines are required by DOCG regulations to age for a minimum of 38 months spending at least 18 months in wood prior to release Ceretto Barolo DOCG 2011 $ Pio Cesare DOCG 2011 $ Fontana Fredda Serralunga D Alba DOCG 2010 $117 Fontana Fredda began in 1858 when the first King of Italy purchased the estate in order to produce fine Barolo for his personal use. This Barolo has intense aromas with overtones of vanilla, spices, withered roses and underbrush. Full bodied with velvety texture. BARBARESCO Region: Piedmont ~ This powerful red wine based on the Nebbiolo grape is grown around the village of Barbaresco in the Piedmont region in northwest Italy. The main difference in Barolo and Barbaresco is in the soils. The soil in Barbaresco is richer in nutrients and, because of this, the vines don t produce as much tannin as found in the wines of Barolo Marchesi Di Barolo DOCG 2012 $ Castello di Neive DOCG 2012 $99 On the grounds of the estate of Castello di Neive sits a castle that dates back to 1753 and still to this day, acts partially as the residence of the Stupino family making some of the top Barbaresco s that can be found. Aromas of red fruits and cassis with hints of licorice, smoke and caramel. BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO Region: Toscana ~ Situated jus below the area of Chianti lies the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Region. Based on the Brunello clone of Sangiovese, some of the most collectible and popular wines in all of Italy are produced in Montalcino. With one of the warmest and driest climates in Tuscany, grapes from Montalcino yield wines of intense color and body with bright acidity and strong age worthy tannins Col d Orcia DOCG 2010 $ San Polo (Poggio DOCG) 2009 $183 The San Polo Estate Wines are well known for their organic growing techniques. They minimize the use of chemical fertilizers and only use natural fertilizers in the form of organic compost. Harvesting is carried out manually and only when grapes have reach full maturity. Classic aromas of violets, red berries and subtle notes of coffee and soft pipe tobacco Donatella Cinelli Colobini DOCG 2011 $102 This wine comes from the estate of Donatella Cinelli Colombini, a rarely seen woman owned vineyard. Filomena recently hosted a wine dinner hosted by her daughter featuring family wines. The 2 small vineyards surround the 16th century castle Casato Prime Donne. This Brunello is intense ruby red wine complex, rich in spices with hints of vanilla and nuances of ripe berries. Elegant and harmonious palate with good tannins and a long finish.)

Finishes long with a mineral flourish TENUTA SAN GUIDO SASSICAIA 2012 ~ $330 Region: TOSCANA ~ Ripe black cherry and blackberry flavors pick up rosemary, mineral and spice accents in this red which is concentrated and intense, fresh and focused.
