We are delighted to present what is largely an exclusive range of wines that we import from around the world, and to have some of the wonderful winemakers and vineyard owners here to help share their passion with you. 4 Table 1 Jean Becker, Alsace, France Anne Birkel The Becker family s winemaking legacy dates back to 1610 in Zellenberg, with the estate now in the hands of the 13th generation. The wines produced are of the highest standard, with vineyard holdings across five Grand Cru areas. 5 Table 2 Tenuta Montauto, Maremma, Toscana, Italy Riccardo Lepri The Maremma is often refer to as the Wild West, both in terms of its landscapes and its winemaking. While in Northern Tuscany, the Etruscans were making wine thousands of years before, the Maremma used to be a wild, swampy backwater, and viticulture was only introduced to the region in the 19th century. Riccardo Lepri s family has produced artisan wines for nearly sixty years at the Montauto estate, nestled 200 metres above sea level on a clay rich soil. The vineyards benefit from a cooling sea breeze and large diurnal temperature. 6 Table 3 Unmaivino, Sardinia, Italy Gioacchino Sini & Francesco Gabriele Sardinia deserves to be known more widely as a wine region, with a host of native grape varieties and sub-regions. Unmaivino is a family run property founded in 1949 and based in the Berchidda area. 7 Table 4 Azienda Agricola Pelassa, Piedmont, Italy Daniele Pelassa Located in Montà d Alba, in the chalky Roero hills of Piedmont, the Pelassa family owns 12 hectares of vineyards focusing on the grapes best suited for the land: Nebbiolo, Barbera and Arneis. The present winery was created in 1960 by Mario Pelassa, who has been in the wine business for over 50 years. Today, his sons, Davide and Daniele, continue with the family tradition, expanding their winery into new markets. 8 Table 5 S A Prüm, Mosel, Germany David Wright The Prüm name has been synonymous with quality wine production in the Mosel for generations, where the family has been cultivating vineyards and producing wine in the region since In summary, S A Prüm was the original, dominant Prüm name until 1911 when branches of the family went their own ways (i.e. J J Prüm). The grandson of the vineyard s namesake, Sebastian Alois Prüm ( ), also Sebastian Alois, established the winery in His son and now grandson, the present day Raimund, who inherited the vineyards in 1971, continue the traditions with his daughter Saskia. Since 1971 the winery was modernised and the vineyards further developed, consistently producing wines with an international following. 9 Table 6 Domaine Sève, Burgundy, France Jean Pierre & Sylvie Sève This seven hectare property lies on the steep slopes overlooking Solutré, one of the finest of all the Mâcon villages and the very core of the appellation. 10 Table 7 Little Beauty, Marlborough, New Zealand Fleur McCree This great little privately owned estate lies in Marlborough s Southern Valleys where the wines differ slightly from the mainstream. This delectable property is spread over five plots, each with its own soil profile and micro climate, which allows winemaker Eveline Fraser (former head winemaker at Cloudy Bay) the chance to make unusually complex, multi dimensional wines. 12 Table 9 Viña Ventisquero, Chile Janina Doyle Since 1998, Ventisquero have taken their philosophy of a step beyond into both their viticulture and vinification producing high-quality, avant-garde, modern wines. Respectful of the environment, their vineyards have matu to be both sustainable and innovative. 17 Table 13 Bordeaux, France Davy s The sixth generation family-owned Maison Sichel has developed its business from an acquisitions office and wine trading company to the one of the most highly esteemed winemakers and négociants in Bordeaux. It owns Château Angludet, one of the oldest in Médoc, and co-owns the distinguished Grand Cru Château Palmer. The 18.5 hectares vineyard is situated on the sloping hillsides of Saint-Émilion with 27 individual vineyard blocks and an average vine age of over a quarter of a century. Viticulture focuses on a meticulous hands-on approach with low yields as well as organic practices, being certified organic since The Château has modernised its winemaking facilities to be one of the most state-of-the-art wineries on the Right Bank with the aim to allow the distinctiveness of the vineyards to be truly shown in the wines. 13/7 Château Fonplégade Grand Cru 2012, St Émilion annual spring tasting 17

18 Table 14 Bordeaux, France Michel Moulene Jean-Baptiste Audy, founded in 1906 as a Bordeaux based family-run négociant, now owns several vineyards and properties on the right bank of Bordeaux in Pomerol, Lalande de Pomerol and Lussac-Saint-Émilion together with an impressive portfolio of partnerships. 19 Table 15 Château Guiraud, Sauternes, Bordeaux, France Sophie Balanger The black and gold label of Château Guiraud is one of the oldest in the Bordeaux region and has remained unchanged since its creation, asserting their independent spirit from the start. This pioneering essence led the Château to create its own conservatory of grape varieties as well as becoming the first Grand Cru Classé from 1855 to be awarded an organic certification in To ensure their signature style, Sauvignon Blanc grapes are selected from the oldest strains in the conservatory, representing 35% of the total vines planted as well as being vinified separately. At the bottom of the vineyards slopes, there are natural springs which enable drainage and the prevention of stagnated humidity, allowing the grapes to be affected by Botrytis seamlessly to then be hand-picked one by one. 15/1 G de Guiraud sweet 15/2 Petit Guiraud 2013 halves /3 Château Guiraud 1er Cru Classé annual spring tasting 19

20 Table 16 Corbières, France Charles Blagden With no fewer than 40 plots scatte between scrubland and hills, in cooler areas on calcareous soils, clay and gravel. 21 Table 17 Domaine Font de Michelle, Rhône Valley, France Guillaume Gonnet Font de Michelle owes its current form to Etienne Gonnet, who worked closely with his brother-in-law Henri Brunier of Vieux Télégraphe the neighbouring estate in Bédarrides. It is now owned by his sons Michel and Jean, and largely run by their sons Guillaume and Bertrand respectively, with the help of Guillaume s Australian wife, Kelly. Their house style is all about purity and expression of fruit. 22 Table 18 Domaine des Carabiniers, Rhône Valley, France Manon Messainguiral-Thétard The domaine has been within the Leperchois family for many generations with the current generation practicing organic viticulture since In 1920, the family developed the old stable walls into a cellar in which the horse emblem for the wines was founded. Their 40 hectares of vineyards can be found on the right bank of the Rhône river, taking advantage of the sun exposure and drainage from the sandy and stony soils. The use of traditional, organic and biodynamic methods, along with the passion in which the wines are made, has allowed Domaine des Carabiniers to produce some of the best wines of the region. 23 Table 19 Lyme Bay, Devon, England Martin Litt Based in Devon s Axe Valley, Lyme Bay is pushing the boundaries and aiming for outstanding and diverse English wine. Their team of Devoted Devonians have access to a range of choice parcels from partner-growers, meaning the winery has consistent quality year on year. 25 Table 21 Bodegas Ochoa, Navarra, Spain Beatriz & Javier Ochoa Situated in Olite, the wine capital of Navarra, Bodegas Ochoa is a family winery which strives to convey the spirit, passion and dedication of over 160 years of vineyard ownership in every bottle they produce. The Ochoa family has a long tradition of wine making, indeed Javier and his daughter Adriana are both seen as pioneers for the Navarra region with several of their research projects resulting in improvements to the DO. 26 Table 22 Bodegas Miguel Merino, Rioja, Spain Miguel Merino In 1990 Miguel Merino began to realise his dream to create his own winery. Starting with a resto farmhouse, he built a small vinification plant and barrel-ageing cellar, and started to buy grapes grown on small plots near Briones to produce well-made, modern wines. Miguel is passionate, charismatic and a treasure trove of knowledge about Rioja and now owns and runs one of the smallest, youngest and most prestigeous wineries in Spain. 27 Table 23 Bodegas de la Marquesa, Rioja, Spain Pablo de Simón This long established family Bodega lies in the village of Villabuena, drawing from vineyard plantings on the limestone ridges of the Alavesa region. It is based on the same principal as a good French Château which is to use fruit only from their own vineyards, set rigorous standards in the cellars and, following fermentation in stainless steel, age the wine in oak, part of which is renewed each year. The wines have elegance and pungency combined with the soft spicy allure that only well made Tempranillo can offer. 28 Table 24 Quinta da Silveira, Douro Valley and Lisboa, Portugal Rodrigo Martins Situated in the Douro Valley and Lisboa wine regions respectively, Quinta da Silveira and Memoria share a common denominator in the form of winemaker Rodrigo Martins. 29 Table 25 Mount Brown Estates, Waipara, New Zealand Catherine Keith Lying in the foothills of Mount Brown in Waipara Valley this abandoned wine estate was only iscove 15 years ago and it is something of a success story. Waipara has a greater variation in temperature between night and day than more northerly Marlborough, yields are much lower, and this valley is fast establishing a reputation for quality.
