Our traditional tasting at the Vintners Hall has become one of the heralds of Christmas, ideally timed to help you select wines to drink over the festive season and to plan gifts to send to colleagues, friends and family. This year our portfolio has won more awards and coverage in the wine press than ever before. 5 Table 1 Champagne Duménil, France Feric Gauthier SPARKING Champagne Duménil Grande Reserve Brut nv 12% A family-owned Grower Champagne house in the best tradition, new to us this year. The house cuvée is an equal blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Reserve wines with up to 10 years of age and with three years on lees, this has delicate aromas of flowers with notes of apple, pear and apricot. Seductive with a very fine mousse and brioche flavours on the palate. New wine in magnums (150cl) Champagne Duménil Vintage % Aged for seven years on its lees and made with 60% of Chardonnay and 20% of both Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the cuvée millesime is a very expressive Champagne with quince and prune aromas and notes of toasted hazelnut. Vinous and round on the palate with hints of minerality and fine bubbles. New wine. Champagne Duménil Blanc de Noirs Brut Amour de Cuvée nv 12% Aged for five years on its lees this Blanc de Noir has intense aromas of currants and berries alongside dried fruits and almond notes. Very fresh on the palate with a delicate mousse and biscuit flavours. Great length. New wine. Champagne Duménil Rosé Brut Premier Cru 12% The Rosé Vieilles Vignes is aged for three years and uses an equal blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. 50% of Reserve wine are used in the blend to create an elegant and complex Champagne with aromas of crushed strawberries and cherries and notes of almond and cocoa. New wine. 5

6 Table 2 Lyme Bay, Devon England Josh Whitlam SPARKING Lyme Bay, Sparkling Brut Reserve, Devon, England, % Made using the traditional method, Lyme Bay sparkling spent four months on its lees in order to enrich the palate. A fruit driven wine with fresh aromas of lemon and green apple, fine bubbles and a light creamy palate. A great expression of English sparkling wine. Lyme Bay, The Shoreline, Devon, England, % For Shoreline, parcels of fruit are sourced from different vineyards and fermented separately to add complexity to the wine. Aged for four months on its lees to add structure and body. Clean citrus fruits with tropical fruit and pear notes. Off dry with a crisp and refreshing acidity. Lyme B ay, Bacchus Block, Devon, England, % Grapes are harvested very ripe, almost at the botrytis stage, and 20% of the wine was aged in oak barrels to add complexity. Clean and intense nose of grapefruit with tropical notes and herbal undertones. Aromatic and dry with an amazing length. Awarded a Gold Medal at the Independent English Wine Awards 2017 and Best In Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards L yme Bay, Chardonnay, Devon, England, % With 70% of the wine aged in oak barrel, this is a well-rounded dry wine, with subtle buttery flavours and aromas of peach and honey. 7 Table 3 Domaine Millet Roger, Loire, France Franck Millet Sancerre, Loire Valley, France, % Franck and Betty Millet have transformed the vines and cellars at their domaine since taking over a few years ago. The Domaine lies in Bué, one of the very best of the Sancerre villages, on limestone/clay soil which gives the typical mineral character of the region. Great complexity and all the exhilaratingly fresh gooseberry flavours that you could ask for. rosé Sancerre Rosé, Loire Valley, France, % The Millets' rosé is made with the saignée method, to give it a light salmon colour. From 100% Pinot Noir grown on limestone and clay soil, lending ripe, exhilaratingly fresh berry flavours. The delicate colour belies the depth of fruit, which gives the fashionable rosés of Provence a run for their money. Sancerre Rouge, Loire Valley, France, % We tasted the Sancerre Rouge on a visit to the Loire late last year and were impressed with the purity of fruit and value. Only a third of the wine undergoes oak barrel maturation to produce a round palate with light tannins and scent of cherries and violets. 7

Prum, Mosel, Germany James Fleetwood Solitär Riesling Trocken, Prüm, Mosel, Germany, % This 200 year old estate was taken over by Raymond Prüm in Today, the estate is one of the region s most successful wineries, boasting an international reputation for the production of exquisite Rieslings. The Solitär is a benchmark for dry Mosel Riesling. Aromatic with scents of fresh apricot and peach, perfectly balanced by a dry finish and mineral character. Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Kabinett, Prüm, Mosel, Germany, % Fresh and crisp with a clean palate and a good balance, it shows fruity and mineral notes. Lovely in combination with seafood or meat such as veal and poultry or Asian cuisine. Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese, Prüm, Mosel, Germany, % Ripe peaches and apricot fruits and petrol notes are present on the nose and on the palate. Lovely sweetness, well balanced with a refreshing acidity. Serve as an aperitif or with blue cheeses or fresh goat cheeses. Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Devon Großes Gewächs, Prüm, Mosel, Germany, % Delicately fragrant with flavours of apricot and ripe citrus fruits with mineral notes. The palate is elegantly structu with pronounced mineral character imparted by the slate-rich soil. Named Devon after the vineyard s grey slate soil that dates back to prehistoric Devonian time. 9 Table 5 Davy s Christmas Classics the Davy s Team sparkling Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene Millesimato Brut, Toffoli, Veneto, Italy docg 11.5% Exclusive to Davy s, dry and crisp with delicious flavours of apple and peach. Made from grapes grown in the area surrounding the villages of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, in the centre of the Prosecco region, known for its superior quality. Awarded silver medal at the World Wine Awards Also available: in magnums (150cl) Carlomagno Fiano, Puglia, Italy igp, % New to our list this summer. Supremely fresh with hints of citrus and grapefruit, clean on the palate with weight and texture, more than a match for summer salads, fresh almonds or seafood dishes. Awarded a Silver Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition Zapallar Riesling Reserva, Casablanca Valley, Chile, % This lovely Riesling spends 2 3 months on its lees to add structure and flavours. The result is a fresh and perfumed wine with aromas of citrus, grapefruit, lime, apple and apricot. Well-balanced with good acidity, mineral qualities and a dry finish. Montauto Gessaia Tuscany, Italy, % A smoky, mineral Sauvignon Blanc to rival Pouilly Fume, from Italy s Maremma coastline, Gessaia refers to the chalky subsoil which gives these characteristic aromas. Bright, with a straw-yellow colour and greenish shimmers. The nose is intense and long lasting and delivers elderberry and citrus notes as well as pulp fruits. Davy s White Burgundy, France 13% Sourced from Domaine Chêne, near La Roche-Vineuse and Saint-Véran. Expert vineyard management, growing techniques and wine making skills produce a wine that epitomises the southern Burgundy Chardonnay character. A rewarding full bodied wine that offers flavours of ripe fruit with hints of butter and nuttiness. Sidewood Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills, Australia, % Owned by Owen and Cassandra Inglis since Australian wine guru James Halliday gave them a five-star rating in The Wine Companion. A delightful Chardonnay to rival the big names of Burgundy, for a fraction of the price. Extremely elegant, refined and perfectly balanced with fresh green apples, pear and melon flavours and just the right amount of oak to add complexity. Pouilly Fuissé Aux Chailloux Domaine Sève, Burgundy, France, % Growing their grapes on slopes overlooking Solutre, one of the finest of all the Pouilly Fuissé villages, Sylvie and Jean Pierre Sève use oak carefully, not to create oaky flavours but to allow an exchange between oxygen and the developing wine. Matu for 10 months in oak. Bright golden colour combining incible aromas of ginger and delicate wood with intense notes of nuts, honeyed fruit and a delicate yet mineral finish. This deep offers delightful aromas of blackcurrant with a spicy twist and a hint of vanilla. An excellent value weekday with good fruit but with balance and structure. Armigero Sangiovese Riserva, Romagna, Italy doc, % Made by family run winery Casa Vinicola. A superb wine from the Emilia-Romagna region. Ruby with lashings of ripe cherries, dried fruit and spice, light and fruity on the palate. Davy s Rioja Crianza, Vinos Altos, Spain 14% % Tempranillo and 25% Garnacha grown high above the plains at the foot of Mount Verga. Aged for one year in American oak barrels, and six months in. Powerful nose with layers of black and fruits, leading to a fruit driven palate integrated with a deep minerality and gentle oaky notes on the finish. Mount Brown Pinot Noir, Waipara Valley, New Zealand % A well-balanced wine with great purity of raspberry and cherry fruit. Juicy, elegant and refreshing with soft tannins. A great accompaniment to game dishes. Mercurey 1er Cru Les Puillets, Château de Chamilly % Dark berry fruits with real earthy minerality, superb value. Barbera d Alba, Pelassa, Piedmont, Italy, % Exclusive to Davy s, this small family winemaker is starting to turn heads and their Barbera d Alba is one of their best value wines. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is matu in French and Slavonian wooden casks for 12 months before another 12 months in. Fragrant with ripe berry fruit and vanilla notes. Zapallar Gran Reserva Carménère, Colchagua Valley, Chile, % From a single vineyard of 60 year old vines where only the best grapes are selected. 60% of the wine is aged in oak barrels for 10 to 12 months and an additional six months in. Juicy and full bodied with concentrated ripe blackberries alongside tobacco and spices. Sidewood Shiraz, Adelaide Hills, Australia, % An outstanding cool-climate Shiraz from the Adelaide hills, with lifted fruit flavours of cherry, currants and dark plum on the nose. Flavours of pomegranate, cinnamon and spice and a textural earthy finish with soft silky tannins. Quinta dos Capuchos, Memória Reserva Tinto, Lisbon, Portugal, % Foot trodden in traditional lagares and aged for months in oak barrels. Black fruit aromas on the nose and some chocolate with a slight floral touch as well as spices, balsamic and vanilla. Powerful and full-bodied but balanced by fresh acidity which keeps the fruit bright and shows a hint of limestone mineral character. fortified Quinta da Silveira 10 yo Tawny Port xx% Owned by the same family for the past couple of centuries, Quinta da Silveira boasts 70 hectares of vineyards with the best varieties used for the production of Port and Douro doc wines. Rich tawny colour, with an excellent nose of nuts and hints of mature fruit. Beautifully rounded and sweet, with hints of dried fruits, and a long elegant finish. 11 Table 6 LOIRE SPARKLING & STILL, SOUTH AFRICA, SHERRY Alastair Fleming sparkling Domaine Langlois-Crémant de Loire Brut NV, Loire, France 12.5% Based in Saumur on the banks of the Loire, Bollinger Champagne invested in this house some years ago and also contribute expertise in sparkling wine production. An elegant traditional method wine, lively, fresh and elegant with complex fruit notes quince, peach and grapefuit. Klein Constantia Estate, Sauvignon Blanc, South Africa, % Klein Constantia was once part of the Constantia estate, created in 1685 and came to fame with its iconic sweet wine Vin de Constance. Today their premium estate range is led by a world acclaimed and highly popular Sauvignon Blanc that regularly garners awards and praises as one of South Africa s best wines. Batches are vinified separately and wines spend seven months on their lees before blending. Aromas of peach and berries. Expressive on the palate with an intense long finish, and mineral notes. Domaine Langlois-Chateau Saumur Blanc, Loire, France, % Clean and fresh on the palate, this is a perfectly balanced Chenin Blanc with lovely aromas of dry, ripe fruit. Hand-picked and matu on the lees for 4 6 months, with some battonage. Domaine Langlois-Chateau Saumur Blanc, Vielles Vignes, Loire, France, % The perfect definition of a Chenin Blanc made with vines over 35 years old. The nose is full of butter mixed with apple and oaky aromas and a hint of minerality. Round and creamy on the palate it is well balanced with a good acidity that retains the freshness. Lots of baked apple and nutty flavours and a good length. Domaine Langlois-Chateau Saumur Rouge, Loire, France, % Delicious aromas of raspberry, cassis and tarragon lure you into a palate with supple rounded tannins and notes of rich fruits. A remarkably good value Cabernet Franc, with astounding finesse and poise. Enjoy lightly chilled on a summer day. Klein Constantia Estate Red, South Africa, % % Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Shiraz, 14% Petit Verdot and 9% Malbec, making it very similar to the blends found in Bordeaux of 100 years ago (when Malbec was still commonly used and Syrah was added, in the form of Northern Rhone wines, a practice known as Hermitagé ). Aged for 12 months in 50% new French oak barrels, it has intense and black fruit aromas with elegant notes of cinnamon spice. Full bodied and savoury with well integrated oak flavours, and a long and rich finish. sherry Hidalgo Napoleon Amontillado, Jerez, Spain 50cl 17.5% Bone dry Amontillado, nutty on the nose with notes of caramelised almonds, cedar wood and hints of leather. The palate is very smooth and fresh with plenty of caramel and nutty flavours. 11

12 Table 7 Gouguenheim Winery, MENDOZA, Argentina Patricio Gouguenheim sparkling Gouguenheim Sparkling Rosé Extra Dry, Mendoza, Argentina 12% This winery located in the Uco Valley in Mendoza was bought by Patricio Gouguenheim in 2002 and has now become one of the best quality wineries in Argentina. Made with the Charmat method, Gouguenheim Sparkling Rosé has delicate fruit aromas of cherries and strawberries. Very fresh on the palate with good acidity and fine bubbles. Gouguenheim Chardonnay, Mendoza, Argentina, % Vibrant bright yellow color with green hints. Highly aromatic, with notes of green apple, pear and tropical fruits. Gouguenheim Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, Mendoza, Argentina, % Deep ruby color with purple hints. Classic cabernet sauvignon with aromas of black fruits, spices and a hint of vainilla scented oak. A range of laye flavors including chocolate and spice, leading into a long finish. Gouguenheim Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, % Dark in colour with rich and strong aromas of blackcurrant fruits and violets. Rounded and easy drinking with soft tannin. Gouguenheim Malbec Reserva, Mendoza, Argentina, % After spending eight months in French oak barrels, Gouguenheim Malbec Reserve reveals aromas of fruits, chocolate and coffee beans with scents of violets. The palate is very smooth with some complexity. Gouguenheim Flores del Valle Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, % Named after indigenous flower Blue Melosa, Flores del Valle Malbec spent 12 months in oak barrel. Rich, dark and full of ripe and black fruit characters with delicious vanilla and spicy flavours. Round and very well balanced with good length. 13 Table 8 Bodegas Ochoa, Navarra, Spain Beatriz Ochoa sparkling Ochoa, Moscato de Ochoa, Mido, Navarra, Spain, % Bodegas Ochoa is a family winery with a history of 160 years of vineyard ownership. This Muscat defies expectations with its extreme freshness. Typical Muscat aromas of roses, ripe fruits and citrus aromas. Sweet but fresh and elegant with a fine mousse, this can play a role at the beginning or end of a meal, or simply be enjoyed for its own sake! Ochoa Calendas, Viura Chardonnay, Navarra, Spain, % The burnished image of the moon on the 'Calendas' labels refers to the importance of lunar cycles in traditional viticulture. Viura has high acidity, giving freshness, while Chardonnay brings structure. Fruity and fresh with floral notes, match with grilled scallops, salads and fish dishes. Ochoa Uva Doble, N avarra, Spain, % Fresh and delicate with aromas of citrus, apricot and stone fruits. Light and round on the palate with slightly creamy texture from the Viognier grape and good acidity from Viura. El Vino Tinto de la Casa, Navarra, Spain 13.5% A classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with cedar, spice and black forest fruits. Ochoa Mil Gracias, Graciano, Navarra, Spain, % Mil Gracias is the Ochoa daughters thank you to their father and grandfather, who taught them the value of exploring less well known varieties like Graciano. Very ripe black fruit with pepper aromas and mineral notes. Medium to full body with soft and pleasant tannins. Ochoa Reserva, Navarra, Spain, % This is made in the more traditional Navarran style, with both American and French oak adding structure. Ripe black fruit and spicy aromas, a full bodied wine balanced with round tannins. sweet Ochoa Moscatel Vendimia Tardia, Navarra, Spain, cl 15% Great aromatic intensity, with notes of honey, toasted bread, raisins and orange blossom,well-balanced with a silky texture. 13

14 Table 9 Domaine Font de Michelle, Rhône Valley, France Guillaume Gonnet Côtes du Rhône les Promesses Blanc, Rhône Valley, France, % Aromatic and fresh with floral, citrus and tropical fruit aromas, and a mineral finish, this classic Rhône is made from the traditional varieties of Grenache Blanc and Clairette, an ideal aperitif. Ventoux le Jeanette, Rhône Valley, France, % Grapes are carefully selected from a beautiful vineyard located at the foot of the Mont Ventoux, just to the south-east of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Fresh and well balanced with a stunning explosion of ripe berry fruits. Côtes du Rhône les Promesses Rouge, Rhône Valley, France, % A generous Côte du Rhône with cassis, cherry and peppery flavours, made from grapes which are grown near the famous Roman aqueduct Le Pont du Gard. Gigondas l Olivia, Rhône Valley, France, % L Olivia is located on one the highest point of Gigondas and grapes are sourced from vines over 80 years old. Nestled at 300m high the wine is wonderfully concentrated, powerful and complex with dark fruits, spices and a touch of minerality. Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Tradition, Rhône Valley, France, % This is the principal Cuvee of the Domaine. The vines used for the elaboration of this cuvée are, on average, 45 years old. After a traditional fermentation, the wine is matu in large oak barrel called Foudre and 200l barrel. 15 Table 10 Château Ollieux Romanis, Corbières, France Loïc Baccou La Petite Muraille Blanc, Corbières, France, % Corbières is the largest Appellation of the Languedoc, divided into 11 sub-districts, each with its own identity and personality. In this frontier land a number of pioneers have made their mark, such as Pierre Bories of Châteaux Ollieux Romanis. Pierre bought this property Le Champ des Murailles in 2012, 21 hectares divided into 40 different plots. This has flowers on the nose, delicate and refreshing in style with a nice weight on the mid palate. A clean finish with a hint of pepper. 45% Grenache blanc, 25% Roussanne, 25% Marsanne, 10% Macabeu. rosé La Petite Muraille Rosé, Corbières, France, % Pale salmon colour, aromatic nose with plenty of youthful tones. Fresh fruits such as strawberries and raspberries. The palate is refreshing with good acidty. 40% Grenache noir, 30% Grenache gris, 20% Cinsault, 10% Carignan. La Petit Muraille Rouge, Corbières, France, % Juicy and peppery with plenty of cassis and black cherry flavours. This wine really punches above its weight. Hand picked fruit. Carbonic maceration is used for the Carignan, the Grenache is partly destemed. Vinified separately in concrete tanks, both aged in concrete during six months. Just a light filtration before bottling and no fining. 70% Carignan, 30% Grenache. 15

16 Table 11 Champagne Gosset, New Zealand, Burgundy, Chile and fine Cognac David Hargreaves sparkling Gosset Grande Reserve Brut nv 12% The oldest house in Champagne and still in private hands. The house style is to use less malo-lactic fermentation than many other famous names, resulting in wines with tremendous purity of fruit expression, which can also have great ageing potential. The Grande Reserve is the flagship cuvee, Chardonnay bringing notes of yellow fruits - peach and Mirabelle plum. The Pinot Noir of Ay gives structure. Hawthorn and flowers on the nose. Also available: in magnums (150cl) Seresin Estate, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand, % Film-maker Michael Seresin's wines are made biodynamically, with a strong sense of origin. The estate Sauvignon is quite 'classical' in style with a delicate nose, warm notes of ripe stone-fruit, soft passion fruit and a chalkymineral complexity. Finely-textu palate, with ripe gooseberry, tropical and citrus notes, framed by a mouthwatering acidity, and a persistent finish. Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2008, Louis Latour, Burgundy, France 13% Complex and pure nose of pear, apples and citrus notes mainly due to greater acidity of the vintage, with a powerful palate. Limited stocks. Seresin Estate, Leah Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand, % Leah Pinot Noir is named after Michael Seresin s daughter. Burgundian in style with berry fruits, spiced notes and silky tannins. Medium-bodied with a supple palate and silky tannins, whilst the natural fermentation adds complexity. Viu Manent, Vibo Punta del Viento, Colchagua Valley, Chile, % This family owned estate was founded by the Viu Manent family in 1935 and now grows grapes on over 250 hectares. 'Vibo' is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, with a complex nose of forest fruits, berries and sweet spices. The palate is lush and deep with good tannic structure. cognac Cognac Frapin vsop, France 40% An elegantly packaged vsop from veteran cognac house Frapin, blended from eaux-de-vie made exclusively from grapes from the Grande Champagne region of Cognac. Fresh and intense nose of mango and pineapple, with hints of oak and vanilla. Well-balanced by a delicate and lingering freshness and a silky texture. Awarded a Bronze medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris Davy s Claret, Bordeaux % The blend for our own claret is selected after extensive blind tasting by James Davy with Charles Sichel of Maison Sichel (owners of Château Angludet). A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, with rich, ripe currant and blackcurrant fruits, a touch of cedar and spice supple and well balanced. The grapes are carefully selected and de-stemmed before fermentation and aging for 12 months in French oak barriques produced a vintage with dark, succulent fruit, full-bodied and balanced by some vanilla and toast aromas from the élevage. Château Argadens, Bordeaux, France, % Grapes for the Argadens rouge are sourced from a 45 hectares parcels located in the Entre-Deux-Mers. The wine spends 12 months in oak barrels. Rich and ripe blackberry aromas with notes of oak. Generous on the palate with dense tannins and a long and spicy finish. Awarded Silver at the Concours des Vins de Lyon Structu and firm, this is a wine that is full of tannins. Luckily the fruitiness is there as well to show the wine s potential 88pts The Wine Enthusiast, January Château Angludet, Margaux, Bordeaux, France, % Angludet has been owned since 1961 by the Sichel family. The 2013 is a lighter vintage than some and has just begun to show well for drinking. Aged in barrels for 12 months; unfilte to keep its phenolic components intact. Fleur de Pédesclaux, 2nd wine of Château Pédesclaux, Pauillac, Bordeaux, % Being the second wine of Château Pésdesclaux, Fleur de Pédesclaux receives a higher proportion of Merlot. This gives the wine a gentle style with rounder structure and intense blackcurrant aromas alongside cedar notes. Château Olivier, Grand Cru Classé, Pessac-Leognan, Bordeaux, France, % Small yields lead to a rich opulent wine with the palate displaying incible notes of cassis, currants and hints of green pepper and spice. Finished off with glorious elegance, character and refined tannins. Enjoy now or in the next 15 years. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Château Fonplegade, St Emilion, Grand Cru Classé, Bordeaux, France, % Château Fonplegade was renovated in the 2000 s and certified organic in Generous black fruit and mineral notes, velvety palate with sweet tannins. 18 Table 13 Bodegas de la Marquesa Valserrano, Rioja, Spain Pablo De Simón Valserrano Blanco, Rioja, Spain, % This long established family Bodega lies in the best part of Rioja, on the limestone ridges of the Alavesa region. They only use fruit from their own vineyards and have rigorous standards in the cellars in order to create wines with elegance and pungency combined with the soft spicy allure that only well made Tempranillo can offer. Valserrano is gaining a reputation amongst Rioja s best. Fermented in oak barrels. Silky palate with grapefruit and ripe pineapple flavours. Awarded a Silver Medal at Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition. Valserrano Gran Reserva Blanco, Rioja, Spain, % Fermented in new, fine-grained, Allier oak casks and then left to age on the lees for 28 months in the same cask. Elegant aromas of vanilla and pastries mingling with aromatic herbs, honey and dried apricots and hint of toasted aromas from the oak. The palate is soft with a glyceric mouth-feel, full of flavours and still young and fresh. Valserrano Finca Monteviejo, Rioja, Spain, % The Monteviejo vineyard was planted over 60 years ago with 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano and Granacha. The result is a wine that is powerful yet restrained with currant and blackberry fruits on the nose and impressive balance, concentration and power. Meerlust Chardonnay, Stellenbosch, South Africa, % One of the most respected estates in Stellenbosch. The Chardonnay is matu for 11 months in French oak barrel, 50% new. Complex nose of pear, citrus and floral notes with hints of citrus fruits and marzipan. Medium bodied and balanced with a crisp acidity and fresh on the finish with stony minerality. Zisola, Nero d Avola, Noto, Sicily, Italy, % The Mazzei Family have been producing wine in Chianti since 1435 and in Sicily since Aged for 10 months in small French oak barrels, a well-structu example of the most exciting indigenous variety from Sicily. Meerlust Rubicon Estate, Stellenbosch, South Africa, % Ripe black fruit flavours and a hint of leather and tobacco with a long lingering finish, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Castello di Fonterutoli Poggio Badiola, Tuscany, Italy, % Aged for 10 months in small American oak barrels, combining the finesse of the freshest Sangiovese with the structure and the smoothness of Merlot. Elegant with fresh berry flavours and, velvety on the palate. Castello di Fonterutoli, Chianti Classico, Tuscany, Italy, % Made with 90% Sangiovese. Billo Priorat, Cellar Cecilio, Catalonia, Spain % Made by Cellar Cecilio, a family run winery set up after the Spanish Civil War. Intense ripe dark fruits with notes of herbs and balsamic. A full and rich style with bags of rustic character and earthiness. Desnivell Priorat, Cellar Cecilio, Catalonia, Spain % A generous and complex Garnacha-based, with aromas of cherries, berries and plums and complex minerality. Powerful and deep, but the mineral style adds elegance. sweet Masia Pairal Can Carreras Moscat, Empordá 2011 xx% (50cl) A blend of Garnacha Blanca with other local varieties. Oak aged, with fresh acidity on the palate, the mineral nose has herb anise notes with honey and citus on the finish. Pair with firm fish dishes with oil or citrus based sauces. Wine has been made at Masia Carreras since the thirteenth century, but Marti Fabra s reputation as a modern day winemaker is growing. Fresh summer and tropical fruits combine with hints of crisp green apples. Aged five months in stainless steel vats with minimal contact with oxygen in order to retain all the aromatic freshness of the wine. Made with Malvasia fina, Moscatel, Rabigato, Códega de Larinho and Viosinho. Altano Tinto Douro, Portugal % Plum and berry aromas with hint of violet and chocolate. Well-balanced on the palate with sweet tannins and a smooth and harmonious finish. Made with Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca. Altano Reserva, Quinta do Ataíde, Douro, Portugal % Quinta do Ataíde is a vineyard of 82 hectares, the largest of the estate s in the Douro Superior. Wonderfully expressive aromas of fragrant violets, typical of the Touriga Nacional grape. Rich and full-bodied, showing dark chocolate, black fruits and peppery spice. Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels. Great with meats and spicy dishes. Post Scriptum, Prats & Symington, Douro, Portugal, % Made by Bruno Prats (of Cos d Estournel) with the Symington family, owners of Graham s Port. The wine is made at Quinta de Roriz from a second picking after fruit for the first wine Chryseia has been harvested (hence the name the wine is literally a P.S. to Chryseia!). Jancis Robinson describes Chryseia as the Douro s Claret. Aged for 14 months in 400 litre French oak barrels. In 2013 the best grapes were harvested just on time before the heavy rains of September to produce this remarkable wine. Attractive aromas of ripe prune and black cherry. Full bodied and elegant with smooth tannins leaving a fresh and long tasting finish reminiscent of Cru Classe Bordeaux. Made with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca. Blandy's Alvada 5 Years Old, Portugal 19% 500ml A blend of Malmsey and Bual, with wonderful Christmas cake like flavours to this rich and sweeter style fortified wine. A classically rich style of Madeira with dried fruit and apricot notes, works very well when served chilled. Graham s Fine White Port, Douro, Portugal 19% A blend of six traditional Portuguese grapes. The most notable Malvasia Fina which gives the wine crispy citrus fruit notes. Fantastic sweet and fortified wine to be served as an aperitif, with cheeses or in port tonics. Davy s Finest Reserve Port, Douro, Portugal 20% Matu in oak casks in the lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia for up to three years. A full bodied sweet wine with luscious fruit flavours of plums, dark berries and prunes. Round and delicious. 21
