5 Setting up the future The headquarters of the company in Castel S.Pietro Terme embodies the desire of the family to maintain the roots and look at the future. The old house surrounded by vineyards where the Sgarzi family lived, is just next to an extremely modern structure, made of natural materials with a show room, offices and an efficient laboratory for chemical analysis, technical tasting and research. In the basement, it has been built a new cellar for the aging of the wines in barrels and the several tanks placed all around the production area represent for the company a total storage capacity of about fifteen million liters. The great attention to customers and commitment to quality have led the company to expand the business in new markets and to open recently two commercial offices in China and Mexico. Since many years the company s management has been ready to seize new market needs and particularly smart in bringing the Italian style around the world. In these years the company increased its technical competences and each new achievement is a starting point for new ideas. CIAO organic wines in recyclable multilayer container and CIAO semi-sparkling wine in aluminium cans are just an example of the company s successful projects. 3

7 Our Quality System Cantine Sgarzi Luigi confirms and further reinforces the commitment to provide the most extensive guarantees on the quality of its products to customers. Every single activity of the company is managed by procedures, in particular those concerning production, to allow at any time, a total traceability and control, from the vineyards to the final product. The selection and evaluation of each supplier is measured on the ability to provide products and services that comply with the requested quality requirements. All products are subject to a strict sanitary control by the internal laboratory before the introduction into the production cycle. The accuracy of the analytical results of the laboratory is ensured by a permanent confrontation with other external laboratories, certified internationally. The company s policy is addressed to customer satisfaction, sustainability and environmental responsibility and ethical in respect to the internal staff. All the efforts made to enhance the culture of quality in the company have been recognized by customers through a high degree of loyalty in renewing orders and by the major international wine competitions. Luigi was truly passionate about his work. He was a dear grandfather and a mentor to his grandchild Stefano who has so greatly enjoyed learning the winemaking from him.
