4 ORGANIC & BIODYNAMIC WINES This section has been created to give more importance to wines not produced from conventional agriculture explaining the meaning & the difference between organic & biodynamic wines. Organic wines: These are wines made from organically grown grapes where natural methods are used for controlling insects, disease & weeds in the vineyards. No herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilisers are used & only approved, natural substances are applied in the vineyards & winery. The use of sulphur dioxide as a preservative is dramatically lowered versus conventionally made wines. Biodynamic wines: The ultimate state of farming with nature. This approach views the farm as a single organism rather than different components & interference can affect the natural rhythm of the farm.
