Londonderry Senior Center Open House The Londonderry Senior Center will be having an open house! Come check them out on Tuesday, April 19th from 9 AM-1 PM at the Londonderry Senior Center. They offer many interesting programs and activities. Membership to the Londonderry Senior Citizens, Inc. is only $10 a year! The membership gives you discounted rates on programs and special luncheons. Stop in, pick up a calendar and enjoy a cup of coffee. Spring is finally upon us! Well maybe not this week. Once the weather starts to warm up, it will be time for all of us to start visiting the places we love in and around Londonderry. There are plenty of opportunities for biking and hiking along the Rail Trail in Londonderry. Visit our Town Common or take a walk through the forest. Why not get out the golf clubs and visit our Londonderry Country Club? Just enjoy the weather! On another note, starting in July the Londonderry Town Hall Newsletter will be published quarterly. Our summer edition will feature fun summertime activities Kevin Smith Monday Friday 8:30 AM 5 PM Town Clerk s Department 8:30 AM 4:45 PM
The Leach Library has a new library system. The catalog is accessible from the library s website at londonderrynh.org under the Leach Library tab. Click on Library Catalog in the additional link section. Patrons will be able to search and browse the collection from home by author, title, subject, keyword and more. Cardholders will be able to view the items they have checked out, renew items that are not overdue, and place holds on items. To get started, visit the catalog, click on Leach Library, and create an account with your library card number. Please call the reference staff at with any questions. This month, the Londonderry Senior Center is offering a paint class. This month s instruction will be with Karen Monchamp. See calendar for Friday dates. All beginners are welcome! Come try out a class. You are sure to have a good time and go home with something YOU created. The cost is $5 a lesson and all supplies are included. We also offer a ceramics class on Monday afternoons. Diane Allard is our instructor. She supplies the pieces, paint and brushes. The cost is $3 for the lesson and you need to pay Diane directly for the piece as they vary in price. For those of you who would like to try keyboard lessons, we have a Thursday morning class. Paul Bordeleau is our instructor. The cost is $30 for a six week session. Please see Londonderry Senior Center Director Cathy Blash with questions. Monday-Thurs. 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Londonderry Police Department Lt. Timothy Jones will be retiring this June after a career that started with the Londonderry Police Department on May 4, During his time at LPD, Lt. Jones served as a School Resource Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, and Lieutenant in both the Patrol and the Services Divisions. He also served six years in the United States Navy. Lt. Jones retirement is truly bittersweet, as he will be sincerely missed around the station, but he is also well deserving of a long and enjoyable retirement. Lt. Jones is a genuine example of how to conduct one s career.
The Londonderry Police Department now has available a Drug Take Back container that we will be rolling out this coming April. It will be made available 24/7, 365 days a year, and will be located in the lobby of the Londonderry Police station. People can dispose of any of their drugs and medication, as well as other items, with no questions asked. You will not need to speak with anyone and it is completely anonymous. This take back container will replace the biannual drug take back day sponsored by the D.E.A. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Londonderry Police Department at (603)
Do you occasionally have a situation where you need more room in your trash barrel? Overflow trash bags can be purchased at the Town Clerk s office at Town Hall for $3 apiece. These specially colored and labeled 30-gallon trash bags can be filled with your excess trash and placed on the ground beside your regular trash barrel. They will be collected at the same time your trash barrel is emptied.
For more information regarding the Trailways, maps, activities and the Musquash, please visit Londonderrytrailways.org.
