HOTEL INFORMATION Hotel description: Category: History: Location: Mountain hotel FIS, the largest hotel-sports complex in the High Tatras, situated under their majestic peaks before the entrance to Mlynická dolina (valley), near the tarn Štrbské pleso. 3-star hotel The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 were the highlight of sports events at Štrbské Pleso. On this occasion, Areál snov ( Area of Dreams ) and the FIS hotel were built, designed by Professor Eugen Kramár, a leading personality of Slovak architecture, and Ján Šprlák. The FIS Hotel is situated at Štrbské Pleso under peaks of majestic mountains - Solisko and Patria before the entrance to Mlynická dolina (valleay). It is located about one kilometre from the railway and bus station Štrbské Pleso. But if you cover the distance, you will be rewarded with immediate vicinity of a ski resort (50 m from the slope only) and venues of all sports events. Altitude: 1346 m above sea level The FIS Hotel is only 20 minutes by car from Poprad airport, 2 hours from Krakow airport and 4 hours from the airport in our capital city - Bratislava.
