Andrew grew up as one of nine children on a busy pig farm in Couny Offaly, where he kichen was very much he hear of he home. Wih so many children filling he house wih life and laugher, here were always spuds o be peeled, loaves of bread o be baked and meals o be lingered over. This is where Andrew s passion for food was born sanding nex o his moher Prue as she baked an exra bi of love ino every cake. Andrew firs worked as a professional cook in he early nineies, when he spen his college holidays as a privae chef in Greece. Afer graduaing, he spen a period working in he family business. Bu he food bug had bien, and he reurned o cooking when TV3 asked him o become he residen chef on Ireland AM. For five years Andrew ravelled around Europe filming food feaures and prepared mouh-waering dishes in sudio. His caering business soon ook off, and Andrew began searching for he perfec locaion for weddings and evens. Medley was born in 2011, when Andrew opened he doors of his firs venue on Drury Sree in Dublin. The business grew rapidly as word spread abou Medley s unique blend of warm hospialiy and ousanding food from across he globe. Sephen s daugher, Francis, married Thomas Rudd. By bizarre coincidence, Francis and Thomas were Andrew Rudd s grea grea grandparens. Nearly 200 years laer, he Rudd family have reurned o once again do business in he prin room of The Irish Times, bu his ime hey are bringing delicious food and fine wine insead of ho meal ype. Hisory of The Irish Times 1859: Major Lawrence Knox, a man in his early wenies, esablishes The Irish Times. 29 March, 1859: The firs ediion of The Irish Times is published a 4 Lower Abbey Sree, as a new conservaive daily paper. For 14 weeks, i is published every Tuesday, Thursday and Saurday. 8 June, 1859: The Irish Times becomes a daily newspaper. For more han 20 years he has ravelled he world, learning abou flavour combinaions and building up his caalogue of genuine local recipes. He draws on his inernaional influences o creae new and exciing dishes ha ranspor he diner o exoic lands, near and far. From Bologna o Baon Rouge, Buenos Aires o Beijing, Andrew loves o inroduce advenurous diners o new ases. A regular face on our TV screens, Andrew enjoys giving food demonsraions and sharing his love of all hings culinary. He published his firs book of original recipes, Eneraining wih Andrew Rudd, in 2015 and is currenly working on his second book. Prue Rudd Prue inspired Andrew o become a chef, and she is also him mum. Afer raising nine children, Prue and her husband David esablished Rudd s Bacon in he 1980s. As one of he firs arisan food producers in he counry, Rudd s Bacon was a he vanguard of a new movemen in Irish food ha coninues o flourish.
