2 The story of one of the oldest Italian companies producing pasta coincide with the history of the family Paone. It all begins in 1878 in the town Formia, on the beautiful Gulf of Gaeta. Domenico Paone, owner of a steam mill and his friend decided to open a laboratory of bread and pasta in the center of Formia. Domenico Paone soon realizes that his true passion was pasta, and decided to devote himself exclusively to this production and sales. There were years when the pasta was sundrying on a large terrace. This was perfect, because the mild climate in the area and sea breeze did the rest. The craft shop was transformed in a few years in the milling and became the most important milling in the region. After a few years a new mill was build together with a new pasta factory. The Paone s provided employment to many citizens, especially females, in times when female labor was not yet common in the territory.in 1920 the pasta factory was destroyed by an arson, but Domenico did not lose his hope and quickly put it back on foot, providing it with steam machinery and advanced transport equipment.

3 In 1943 the pasta factory undergoes it s second destruction during a bombing campaign. Domenico was saved by a miracle, but the pain of seeing his life's work destroyed and gave him a heart attack and the heart stopped at age 85. The passion of pasta was inherited by his nephew Erasmo together with the rest of the Paone family. They still belived in the dream of uncle Domenico and they decided to rebuild a new, larger factory in Under the leadership of Erasmo a process of expansion and constant innovation started. In the second half of the 1900:th this devolpment went on with his sons, Domenico and Francesco and still goes on, now with their sons Stefano, Giancarlo, Fulvio and Domenico. Pasta Paone is now recognized and appreciated worldwide as a product that we call Made in Italy. The quality and creativity are the characteristics of the brand. Today Paone exports around the world and is one of the major trading pastapartners in Japan and Venezuela. Finally, in 2010, a new factory was set up. Here You can find all kind of modern technology. That means that we are capable to meet every kind of challanges in the near future.

4 The quality The high quality of the pasta Paone is the result of a careful selection of raw ingredients and in monitoring working. The semolina produced with the best durum wheat, before adding the water it is subject to careful laboratory analysis: color, consistency and organaleptic properties must match the high quality standards required by Paone. Another fundamental ingredient for the production of pasta is water, to be sure of it s purity the company uses water from a mountain source, owned by the family flowing near the pasta factory. To this simple and ancient recipie Paone adds passion and dedication to their work. The recipie for perfection and constant respect for the people who works in the factory.

The name is a tribute to the caesar Cicerone, whose tomb is in Formia. But Paone is not just only pasta! In the last years we have introduced some new products such as rice, canned tomatoes made of the most delicious Italian tomatoes. The new products also includes Paone Extra Virgine Olive Oil. This oil is made exclusively from olives from the Gulf of Gaeta. Pasta Paone has all You need to make up a true pasta dinner! You just only have to sit down and enjoy your plate!
