To encourage the youth to exhibit, the entry fee will be waived for 4-H and FFA members who are first-time exhibitors of displays. Member must provide certification from advisor that the displayed items are carried as a project within their respective organization. All displays must be labeled true to variety. Apple Pyramid Display: Pyramid of US Fancy Grade; start with six apples square. This class limited to 12 pyramids. 3. Apple Tray Display: six trays, not less than six different varieties 4. Corn Display: five varieties, six ears each, variety correctly named and labeled. Corn must have been grown this crop year. Any hybrids correctly named will be considered as a separate variety in a corn display. 5. Forage Sheaf Display: ten varieties 6. Garden Display: Display to consist of 12 plates of vegetables chosen from the list, and conforming to the requirements of single-entry classes. Each exhibit will be allowed about 3 x 4 of table space. Entries are limited to available space. Entries will be judged on quality, quantity, and attractiveness of display. List of vegetables: 1 pie pumpkin; 20 lima beans (pods); 20 snap beans (pods); 20 yellow wax beans (pods); 1 watermelon; 1 Swiss chard; 5 parsnips, 5 sweet peppers (any red block variety) 5 peppers (any other sweet variety); 5 hot peppers (any variety); 5 potatoes, early; 5 potatoes, late; 1 squash; 5 red tomatoes; 5 tomatoes (other kind); 5 turnips; 1 celery; 5 onions; 5 radishes; 1 kale, endive; 1 muskmelon or any other. 7. Half-Bushel Basket Display of Vegetables: 2 x 2 table space allowed; minimum of 12 different vegetable specimens; entries will be judged on attractiveness and artistic arrangement of the display. 9. Potato Display: five distinct varieties, correctly named and labeled. 10. Potato Tray Display: three distinct varieties. Exhibitor must furnish trays - 16 x 14 x ½ 11. Pumpkin and Squash Display: 10 individual squash and/or pumpkins, no more than one of each variety 12. Large Pumpkin Pyramid Display: Sugar pumpkins or larger; start with 5 pumpkins square. 13. 7 40 BOOK JUNIOR GRANGE EXHIBIT Entry Fee: $5 Premiums A - score of points - $100 B - score of points - $85 C - score of 80 or fewer points - $75 Junior Grange desiring to exhibit must notify member in charge no later than September 16 so space may be divided. Exhibits must be in place by 10 p.m. Thursday, September 28. No articles to be removed until 7 p.m. last day of fair. All canned vegetables and fruits and all threshed grains shall be put in pint jars. Varieties of corn shown shall be composed of three ears. Displays of raw fruits and small vegetables shall consist of four of each. Displays of large vegetables, pumpkins, etc., shall consist of one each. All articles displayed shall be grown or made by a member of the Junior Grange. The following scale of points will be the guide for judges: 1. State St., Frazysburg THIRTEENTH DEPARTMENT HOME ARTS Dan Markley - Superintendent Entries close 5 p.m. Friday, September 22 ARTICLES ENTERED MUST BE WORK OF EXHIBITOR Entries confined to residents of Coshocton County. Entries limited to one entry per class per exhibitor. Once entry books have closed no changes will be permitted.. Superintendent reserves the right to reject any entry. If unable to deliver entry items by deadline, items may be left at the Secretary office prior to Monday 9/25/. No exhibit may be removed before release time, 9 p.m. October 5. Exhibitor must present claim check at release time. During the fair, doors will be open to hall from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Art Hall will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 noon October 6. The fairboard will not be responsible for exhibits not picked up by 12 noon October 6. Except by special stated rule, no article can compete for more than one premium in this department. No article can compete that has been exhibited more than twice before at the Coshocton County Fair. No more than two prizes in the same class will be awarded to members of the same immediate family. No exhibitor will be permitted behind the railing or to converse with the judge during the judging hours. Violation of this rule may forfeit awards. Throughout this department, the word Display refers first to quality and second to quantity; and displays must be made up of specimens other than those entered for single or other premiums - except by special stated rule. The society will use fairness and diligence in judging and caring for exhibits, but will not be held liable should a piece be mislaid. Premiums are paid only from official results in judges book, which is final. WOODCARVING COMPETITION RULES & CLASSIFICATIONS The following items will not be accepted in the woodcarving competition, intarsia, pyrography, marquetry, and scroll-saw works. You may have only one entry or display per a specific category. All entries shall be the work of the entrant. Each entry must be tagged as to which category is entered and the entrant's name.
