2 Fresh Fruits and Vegetables India has been bestowed with wide range of climate and Physio-Geographical conditions which ensures availability of most kind of fruits and vegetables. The country is the second largest producer of the Fruits ( Million tonnes) and vegetables ( Million tonnes) in the world, contributing 12.6% and 14.0% of the total world production of fruits and vegetables respectively. India is the largest producer of Ginger and Okra amongst vegetables and ranks second in production of Potatoes, Onions, Cauliflowers, Brinjal, Cabbages, etc. Amongst fruits, the country ranks first in production of Bananas (22.94%), Papayas (44.03%) and Mangoes (including mangosteens, and guavas) (37.57%). Mangoes, Walnuts, Grapes, Bananas, Pomegranates account for larger portion of fruits exported from the country while Onions, Okra, Bitter Gourd, Green Chillies and Potatoes contribute largely to the vegetable export basket. Presently, more than 50 different vegetables and fruits are being cultivated by Navadhane at various productions centres across the country. The different agroclimatic zones enable us to produce most vegetables all-round the year. Global standards of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) are strictly followed at production level. Our vast presence in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, North America and South America. This has been possible by using efficient Cold Chain Management. We export fresh fruits and vegetables that are certified Global GAP & pack them at our HACCP Accredited pack house. Our residue limits meet the strict Global/EU norms & are continuously monitored to meet with their perennially upgraded stringent levels. With regard to food safety 100% traceability is ensured & every cartons carry traceability codes. All fresh produce destined for European and other different countries from India must be checked via Agricultural & Processed Food Products Exports Development Authority (APEDA) pack houses, where the fruit and vegetables will be go through vigorous Phytosanitary testing. 3 Fresh Vegetables: India grows the largest number of vegetables from temperate to humid tropics and from sea-level to snowline, Vegetables are excellent source of vitamins, particularly niacin, riboflavin, Thiamin and vitamins A and C. They also supply minerals such as calcium and iron besides proteins and carbohydrates. Vegetables combat under nourishment and are known to be cheapest source of natural protective tools. Most of the vegetables, being short duration crops, fit very well in the intensive cropping system and are capable of giving very high yields and very high economic returns to the growers. 9 Fresh Fruits: India is the largest producer of Fruits in the world and is known as fruit basket of world. 12 FRESH OKRA We are supplier and exporter of Fresh Okra. Okra is the fruit of the plant Abelmoschus esculentus also known as lady s finger or gombo. Okra can be produced in both tropical and sub-tropical climates. The plant can grow up to 2 meters and is either annual or perennial. The unripe fruit should be picked a couple of days after flowering and can be eaten as a vegetable. The seed pods are green or red and can grow up to 18 cm long. Fresh okra can be kept fresh only a couple of days. Okra is shipped to the different countries across the world by air. Combined Nomenclature (CN) commodity code for okra. Number Product (from 2012) Fresh or chilled vegetables, n.e.s Product Specification Quality: Minimum requirements that products should be intact, clean and sound, (practically) free from pests, damage, abnormal external moisture, internal browning, and in a condition to withstand transport and handling. 13 Due to the rapid rate of growth and development, okra should be harvested every one to two days to ensure the size specification range. Okra should not be harvested in the rain or when excessively wet, and should be handled with care. Rubber gloves should be used during harvesting and handling. On harvesting approximately 1 cm of stem should remain attached to the pod. Due to the perishable nature of okra, harvesting is required on the day, or the day preceding shipment. There are 3 different quality classes of okra: 1) Extra Class (superior quality); 2) Class I (slight defects in shape, development and colouring); 3) Class II (defects in shape, development, colouring and skin). Oversize and damage crops are to be removed in order to meet the highest quality classes. Size: Okra products should be harvest between 40 to 115 mm in length, green, and tender and readily snap at the tip. 14 FRESH GREEN CHILLY We are supplier and exporter of Fresh Green Chilly. The chilli pepper is the fruit of plants from the genus Capsicum. Green chillies (which are essentially unripe fruit).fresh Green Chilly is shipped to different countries across the world by air. India grows a variety of green chillies having mild pungency to high pungency. Green chillies in India are available throughout the year. Number Product Fresh Green Chilly Product Specification Quality: Chilli peppers can be divided in three classes according to quality: Extra Class, Class I and Class II. Indian onions are famous for their pungency and are available round the year. Indian onions has two crop cycles, first harvesting starts in November to January and the second harvesting from January to May. The major varieties found in India are Dark Red, Light Red, Red, Agrifound White, Agrifound Rose and Agrifound Red, Pusa Ratnar, Pusa Red, Pusa White Round.
