Producer: Aromatic, fine, and well balanced wine with its light golden colour with some green reflects. Nuances and taste of linden tree, mango, peach and some citrus. In the mouth the wine is very charming, thanks to its freshness and its fruity aromas. Vignoble Dampt Bourgogne Tonnerre Chevalier d'eon Blanc 2014 (3567) $30.95 (Tasting Special $26.35) Bill Nanson: All chardonnay. A mix of Portlandian and Kimmerigian, some parts almost Chablis, other parts only 10km from Champagne. A relatively bright and nicely fresh nose this could be a Chablis. Nice texture, slightly layered and still with a hint of salinity to edge the fruit. If I told you this was villages Chablis you d happily believe me. 3 Additional Notes: Albert Bichot Bourgogne Chardonnay Secret de Famille Blanc 2015 (4158) $48.95 (Tasting Special $41.50) Burghound: A pungent nose consists of notes of straw, petrol, white peach and a hint of citrus peel. There is a reasonably good sense of energy to the round, succulent and easy to like flavors that offer acceptable depth and length. This opulent effort is fruity but not simple. Drink 2018+, Points Domaine Duroche Bourgogne Chardonnay 2015 (3906) $49.95 (Tasting Special $42.50) No Notes! Seguin Manuel Rully Vieilles Vignes 2015 (4469) $61.95 (Tasting Special $52.50) Bettand & Desseauve: Rully comes from 40 year old vines, precise plot, wine of beginning of mouth, well constituted, pleasant. 14/20 Points 13 2

4 Domaine Jean Durup Chablis 1er Cru L'Homme Mort 2014 (3793) $62.50 (Tasting Special $52.95) Tout Sur le Vin: It is this windfall bringing up the rear with a Chardonnay finesse where lemon holds the top billing, with co star peach and apricot. It is bright as must a windfall, but with a little more flattering plump on the palate. Always with this frank chalky minerality from home Maligny. Why the dead man, I tell you? This is one of the eight localities that comprise this first vintage Fourchaumes. Domaine Fabien Coche St Aubin 2014 (3490) $69.50 (Tasting Special $58.95) Bourgogne Aujourd'Hui: Aromas of white flowers, citrus... Beautiful feeling in the mouth, with flavors of citrus, lemon tart and a saline finish. 16/20 Points Au Pied du Mont Chauve St Aubin 1er Cru Pitangerets 2014 (4493) $93.50 (Tasting Special $79.50) Jancis Robinson: Easy, heady perfume. Ripe pear and dusty summer flowers with a tiny bit of smoky reduction. Rounded fruit offset by gunflint, angling the palate towards a more savoury edginess of fennel and liquorice. Quite robust, but smooth, planed surfaces and just a whisper of oak. (TC) 16/20 Points Jerome Castagnier Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 2013 (3215) $ (Tasting Special $152.95) Darren Harris: Adjoining Clos St Jacques, Cazetiers is always one of my favourite Gevrey Premier Crus. It produces a deep wine with elegance and complex nuances, with a long acid driven finish. Jasper Morris says "Good Cazetiers gives a feeling of refinement and precision which has an intellectual appeal as well as being vinously satisfying". Albert Bichot Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St Jacques 2014 (3066) $ (Tasting Special $169.95) Wine Enthusiast: This rich wine is dense with dark tannins and concentrated structure. The vineyard, with cool winds from the valley behind, gives wines that demand aging with their tannins and fragrant fruit. The aftertaste is full of promise. Drink after Points Domaine Michel Mallard Corton Les Marechaudes Grand Cru 2012 (3517) $ (Tasting Special $194.65) Burghound: As one might reasonably expect given the natural inclination of Les Maréchaudes to produce what are among the more refined versions of Corton, this is quite aromatically elegant with its pretty array of ripe and very fresh red berry fruit scents that are liberally sprinkled with hints of dried flowers, spice and soft earth hints. The palate impression of the middle weight flavors is equally refined with a hint of minerality adding lift to the dusty, balanced and solidly persistent finale where a hint of mocha appears. A sleek and well proportioned Corton that should drink well young if desired. Drink 2020+, 92 Points 3 12

5 Domaine Gilbert et Christine Felettig Chambolle Musigny 2015 (4246) $ (Tasting Special $107.50) Burghound: (from 20 different parcels scattered around Chambolle). A discreet application of wood frames equally ripe and liqueur like aromas of cassis, black cherry and subtle spice hints. There is fine richness to the relatively full bodied flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the balanced finale. This is a very good villages. A Sweet Spot wine. Drink 2020+, Points Domaine Roblot Marchand Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuees 2015 (4474) $ (Special $119.95) Bill Nanson: Pretty and high toned floral aromas. Tighter, linear, more a growing insinuation of flavour, more finishing concentration. Mouth wateringly long! Good but a wine to wait for it s not fully open as tasty as it is! Domaine Jean Michel Guillon Gevrey Chambertin Cuvee Alexis 2015 (4028) $ (Tasting Special $128.95) Burghound: Copious wood all but dominates the markedly ripe yet attractively fresh nose of dark currant, underbrush and Gevrey style sauvage notes. The palate impression of the dense, powerful and muscular flavors is also super rich thanks to the abundance of dry extract that buffers the moderately firm tannic spine shaping the impressively long finish. The wood treatment isn t subtle but the underlying material is so strong that this should easily be capable of absorbing it in time. This is unusually good for its level. (89 92)/2023+, Points Domaine Fernand and Laurent Pillot Chassagne Montrachet La Chene 2015 (4081) $ (Tasting Special $87.50) Jancis Robinson: Less charismatic than their Sur Le Sentier du Clou St Aubin, though there is still a great concentration of fruit here, giving fuller body. (RH) 16.5/20 Points Seguin Manuel Meursault Les Clous 2015 (4464) $ (Tasting Special $111.30) Bettane and Desseauve: On the soil of yellow marls and limestone located in Les Clous du Dessus, on the edge of the wood of Montmellian, it is a precise representation of meursault oriented towards finesse without unnecessary heaviness, quite the contrary. Finale pleasant, generous. 15.5/20 Points Domaine Fernand and Laurent Pillot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Fairendes 2015 (4022) $ (Tasting Special $111.75) Burghound: There is just enough reduction present to blur the distinctions of the pear and apple scented nose. Like the Morgeot there is excellent volume to the very rich big bodied flavors that possess a slightly finer mouth feel as well as slightly firmer supporting acidity on the attractively complex and well balanced finish. This is a bold and delicious effort that avoids any sense of undue heaviness. Drink 2021+, 91 Points 11 4

6 Domaine Jean Chartron Puligny Montrachet 2015 (3414) $ (Tasting Special $122.85) John Gilman: The 2015 Puligny AC chez Chartron is another wide open and very tasty example of the vintage that will offer early appeal. The nose wafts from the glass in a blend of white peach, apple, chalky soil tones, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, fullbodied and succulent, with a good core, fine balance, lovely, zesty framing acids and fine length and generosity on the very well balanced finish. This will keep the longest of these three villages bottlings in 2015, but it too will be very tasty out of the blocks Points Domaine Jomain Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrieres 2014 (4514) $ (Tasting Special $134.25) Bill Nanson: Also more floral but this time a wider and more elegant nose. Weight of flavour here, it saturates the palate there is also minerality too. On the other hand here is richness and less energy, yet the acidity slowly shines through. More contemplative wine, but one that I would be happy to wait for Domaine Justin Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes 2014 (2966) $37.95 (Tasting Special $32.25) Jancis Robinson: Pale crimson. Lively and fresh with quite enough fruit. Great balance. Drink /20 Points Domaine Pascal Bouley Volnay 1er Cru Champans 2015 (4442) $ (Tasting Special $99.95) The Fine Wine Review: Dark fruit aromas and flavors mark the Champans. There is good acidity here, but also the richness typical of Champans. As mentioned above, this wine was made with 20% whole clusters. It is very good Champans Points... Domaine Drouhin Laroze Gevrey Chambertin 2014 (3355) $ (Tasting Special $102.80) Burghound: Here too there is just enough wood to notice on the ripe and fresh nose that evidences notes of dark currant, earth and discreet game nuances. There is fine detail to the delineated and stony middle weight flavors that possess good richness on the fleshy if mildly edgy finish. As with several wines in the range there is quite a bit of gas present that is probably responsible for the edginess and my range takes this into account. Drink 2020+, Points Seguin Manuel Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes 2015 (4462) $ (Tasting Special $103.65) Bettane & Desseauve: Plot now managed by the house and the result is obvious. Racy, almost wild, fleshy and very deep. Hold or drink now, it will be according to the envy of the moment. The essence of Beaune is very successful. Highly recommended purchase. 17/20 Points 5 10

7 Domaine Pascal Bouley Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chenes 2014 (4328) $ (Tasting Special $90.50) Burghuond: Here too a background application of wood sets off the attractively layered nose that features notes of spice, pungent earth and a cool but ripe mix of various red berry fruit and plum scents. There is excellent punch to the intense and broad shouldered flavors that exhibit a sleek muscularity as well as ample minerality on the powerful and youthfully austere finale. This is impressive if not quite as harmonious as the Champans. Still, this very firmly structured effort is worth checking out provided that you have at least some patience. 91/ A Sweet Spot Wine. 91 Points Domaine Pascal Bouley Volnay 1er Cru Ronceret 2015 (4439) $ (Tasting Special $95.95) The Fine Wine Review: Here we have fresh acidity in the mouth to go with the smooth texture so common in the vintage. This wine distinguishes itself from the preceding ones by greater energy, finesse, and lightness Points Domaine Marchand Grillot Gevrey Chambertin En Songe 2015 (4209) $ (Tasting Special $99.40) Darren Harris: 30% new oak. Nose of black cherry, a touch of earth and some mineral notes. Terrific extract which is lively and intense but not heavy. Some creamy oak adds texture to what is already an deep and complex Villages wine. This is very smart and also punches above its weight. Domaine Pascal Bouley Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2014 (4321) $38.95 (Tasting Special $32.95) Burghound: (from vines located in Volnay). There is excellent density of fruit to the plum, earth and violet scented nose. The attractively vibrant middle weight flavors possess a lush mouth feel as well as better than average complexity for a wine of this level, all wrapped in a sappy and balanced finale. This is a fine effort and would make a good choice for a house red. 87/ A Sweet Spot Wine. 87 Points Domaine Pascal Bouley Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015 (4434) $41.95 (Tasting Special $35.50) The Fine Wine Review: The first thing I notice about this wine is the complexity in the nose. Then in the mouth, the wine shows minerality, purity, and length, along with acidity that is mouthwatering, and juiciness. The fruits are dark and fresh. This will provide good drinking for those looking for a bargain Points Domaine Fernand and Laurent Pillot Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015 (4082) $37.95 (Tasting Special $32.25) Burghound: (from vines situated in Pommard). Attractively fresh aromas interweave notes of various red berries and earth scents. There is fine volume to the round, delicious and caressing flavors that possess a lovely sense of verve on the moderately structured finale. This could be enjoyed young or aged for a few years to good effect. Drink 2019+, 86 Points 9 6

8 Albert Bichot Bourgogne Pinot Noir Secret de Famille Pinot Noir 2015 (4159) $48.95 (Tasting Special $41.50) Burghound: (all from Côte de Nuits). A relatively fresh and bright nose is composed by notes of red berries and earth with a back ground hint of wood. There is fine detail and vibrancy to the attractively textured middle weight flavors that possess fine concentration for the appellation, all wrapped in a lingering finale. This could be drunk young or aged for a few years first. Recommended. 87/2018+, 87 Points Domaine Brigitte Berthelemot Monthelie Rouge 2014 (3436) $62.95 (Tasting Special $53.50) No Notes! Domaine Pascal Bouley Monthelie 1er Cru Les Clous 2014 (4324) $72.50 (Tasting Special $61.50) Burghound: An attractively spicy nose features perfumed notes of plum, black raspberry and soft earth nuances that are also reflected by the delicious and lush medium weight flavors that are shaped by relatively fine tannins on the ever so mildly austere, balanced and persistent finale. This is firmer but finer than the Fournereaux but not more complex or longer. 89/2021+, 89 Points Domaine A F Gros Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits 2015 (Screwcap) (3925) $77.95 (Tasting Special $66.25) Wine Advocate: The 2015 Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits probably offers more "Pinoté" on the nose compared to the Bourgogne Rouge this year, a little more delineation. The palate is fresh on the entry with crunchy red cherry fruit mixed with raspberry and a touch of white pepper, well balanced with a harmonious and very satisfying finish. This is delicious and comes recommended. 90 Points Domaine Roblot Marchand Chambolle Musigny 2012 (4508) $79.50 (Tasting Special $67.50) No Notes! Domaine Pascal Bouley Volnay Les Pluchots 2015 (4435) $82.95 (Tasting Special $70.50) The Fine Wine Review: From the bottom of the slope and and also includes some Chanlin (a premier cru above Frémiets). The nose shows dark cherries. The mouth has minerality and dark berry fruit with a medium weight body, some tannins, and good acidity and length Points 7 8
