1 CLASSROOM BASKETS FOR FALL FESTIVAL Donations Needed This year s Sunnyside s PTO Fall Festival is fast approaching. Fall Fest is on Saturday, October 20 th, from noon to 3pm. This year, as a PTO fundraiser, there will be an auction with various items that you can bid on and bucket raffles. One part of the auction will be a display of classroom baskets. Each classroom will be assigned a specific theme. The individual classrooms can collect donations of new items that go along with that theme, and those items will then be wrapped into one large basket or a couple of smaller baskets. The baskets will then be auctioned off at the Fall Festival. For example, if your child s classroom has the theme of Arts and Crafts, you could donate a box of crayons, markers, construction paper, glitter, glue, stencils, etc. Below you will find all of the classrooms and their designated theme. The collection will begin now through Monday, October 15 th. You can start bringing in items at any time (send to school with your child and give to your child s teacher). Please make sure to label items being donated with correct homeroom designation. If you aren t sure what to buy or don t have time to go shopping, you could also send in cash or a check (written to Sunnyside PTO) donation and we can shop for you. In addition, if you have any baskets/bins that you would be willing to donate, we would greatly appreciate those as well. A collection box/bin will be located in each homeroom. Classroom baskets were a great success last year! Please help us by making a donation again this year! We will also have back the bucket raffles this year. We heard a lot of comments on how the kids liked to drop in the tickets and this will also give more people a chance to win items. Please help us make this a success. If you have any items or services you would like to donate to the buckets raffles (Thirty One, Avon, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Arbonne, Wild Tree, etc.) we would be greatly appreciative. Please contact Melissa Nowak for drop off or pick up of items. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Nowak at mel72781@yahoo.com or
2 Volunteers Needed We are also looking for one parent volunteer for each homeroom to help assist with the classroom baskets. Parent volunteers would be responsible for only one homeroom and they would be: assisting with the collection in their homeroom, sending letters of ideas or following up with items needed, creating a written list of finalized items for each basket, and wrapping the baskets for display (materials will be provided). We usually wrap the baskets the week before the event one night. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Melissa Nowak at mel72781@yahoo.com or to help get you started!
