FEEDING FAMILIES IN NEED Margate Village is helping Foodbank Australia to feed families in need this Christmas has been a very difficult year for many families. In fact, Foodbank reports that 13% of adults and 15% of children in Australia live in poverty. Christmas is meant to be a joyful occasion. For some it simply highlights the bleak situation they face. As a Margate Village shopper, you can make a difference between now and 24th December by donating food items to Foodbank. Simply place the items in the cage located outside Woolworths. Sealed items such as tinned food, pasta and pasta sauce, canned baked beans, rice, sugar, spreads and cereal, as well as baby food and personal care items are ideal. All donations will go to those most in need. Foodbank will make regular collections from the cage and then distribute the donations to charity and welfare organisations. Foodbank relies heavily on these donations, as well as support from the business community, to tackle the hunger problem in Australia.
